Marinagri Greenblu Hotel in Policoro

We arrived and we were told for a 7 day stay to stay in exactly the same room but to have two instead of one people in the room it would be an additional 650 Euros. This was just with the included breakfast. They did not give us an option to not add the breakfast which we had twice in the week stay. We got to our room and it had nice high ceilings, but the shower head would not stay on the wall. You either had to squat to get under it or risk having the shower head fall on you which happened multiple times during our stay. We had ONE hangar in our room. We asked for more than one hanger and in one week, we never received additional hangars. The first night we got two our two person room, we discovered it had one set of towels. It was around 10 pm, I called down for another set of towels. As soon as I started speaking which was broken italian and English, the FRONT DESK HUNG UP ON ME! Then did not pick up the phone when I called back. I walked down there and got the towel set myself. Some days later, we asked to use the spa and get a massage since the name of the hotel has Hotel and spa. They said, no spa. No massages. Any four star hotel in the other areas had this available. We went to the pool once. NO chairs available. We took our towels and sat on the concrete. The bar you need to pre load money on a card in order to order drinks. The towels at the pool, you get one towel card and you must swap it every day. The breakfast was like a breakfast you can get in an average airline lounge. The food we had at the Herculea Hotel was much better. This was pretty much the worse 5 star hotel experience I have every had.

Hotel is massive but nothing to offer. It’s a spa but spa and fitness was completely closed. Pool (quite small if you compare with the size of the hotel) is only open certain hours and you have to wear a swim cap. Never been told to wear a swim cap in a pool ever and I’ve been to many places. Only one restaurant in the hotel and breakfast was poor/limited. No coffee machine in the rooms (which I expect with a 5*). The village is pretty dull and boring. Beach has pebbles but is nice and water is warm. But hotel was a disappointment really. Nothing to offer at all. So boring.

The room was in a extension of the hotel and not really comfortable. Is not what the show in the pictures. I’m disappointed with my choice. NOT RECOMMENDED!
