Lungomare Hotel in Reggio Calabria

Well positioned. That’s the only positive really. Rooms are tired, bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom was in need of deep cleaning. No hot water! The first room we were offered was worse than the one we ended up in. Not a three star hotel!

Location was good, staff friendly. I do not mind a quirky or old hotel, but I do expect certain things, like the place being clean and hot water for the shower. The shower had mould and was covered in limescale. The bathroom sink was filthy too. I asked reception if they could ask the cleaners to clean the shower and bathroom but it didn’t happen. I ended up cleaning it myself with a hand towel and shower gel! There was a hair dryer in the bathroom that was damaged and looked unsafe to use. The water was lukewarm at best so I never felt fully clean. The bed was supposed to be memory foam but was hard and lumpy and very uncomfortable and we couldn’t sleep properly. Curtains did not close fully and it was too dark to have the metal blinds down. Sheets were clean, and we had clean towels every day but could not understand why the bathroom was not cleaned Hotel website says 3 or 4 star but would really struggle to be one star
