Saint Joseph in Salerno

Kind of funny how bad this hotel is. Travelled for work, food isn’t great, location is terrible, you have to pay for the beach which is right next to a Marina / Harbour so the water is pretty grim. Dated rooms with leaking bathroom. No “do not disturb” signs so house cleaning just walk right in without knocking. There was a late night party downstairs on a Monday with no warning it was happening, haven’t slept. Avoid at all costs.

Absolutely unacceptable and horrible experience. Roughly 1.5 hours after we checked in, while my partner and I were in bed working on our laptops, someone used a key to open our door and walked straight into the room — without waiting for a response, without warning, and without any prior notice. We were absolutely shocked. The man didn’t speak English and left immediately without explaining anything. We rushed to the reception, and were casually told it was a “mistake” — apparently someone was coming to check the air conditioning. Let’s be very clear: this is not a simple mistake. This is not normal. This was a serious violation of our privacy and personal space. We could have been in the shower, undressed, or asleep. The fact that hotel staff can enter a guest’s room without consent or notification is completely unacceptable. We were extremely upset and immediately decided to leave the hotel. Despite this, they refused to refund our money, even though we had just arrived and were leaving due to a major safety and privacy issue. No proper apology, no responsibility, no respect. This was not an inconvenience — it was a violation. We strongly advise others to stay away from this hotel.

The hotel is absolutely not safe, and the staff are disrespectful.
They entered my room without my permission while I was inside.
Although I had a 3-night reservation, I left the hotel and checked into another one.
