Unacceptable accommodation – lack of hygiene and insulting host behavior

We stayed at this location in May 2025 and unfortunately, the experience was extremely unpleasant. From the moment we arrived, we found the bathroom in a deplorable state: the toilet bowl had visible fecal stains, the shower head and taps were covered in rust and limescale, and the room was full of dust — on nightstands, furniture, and even dirty stains and shoe marks on the walls. We had to clean the bathroom ourselves using alcohol and bleach in order to be able to use it.

We immediately informed the host, who admitted that the cleaning staff was no longer working with them. They sent someone to clean, but the intervention was very superficial, and the bathroom remained unusable in normal conditions.

At the end of our stay, after we left an honest review, the host responded in a completely unprofessional manner, calling us “crazy” and “vindictive”. They denied the reality of the situation, even though we provided photos and videos, and falsely claimed that we could have canceled the stay. However, the property’s own cancellation policy clearly stated that cancellation without penalty was only possible more than 7 days before check-in — so there was no way we could have received a refund.

It is unacceptable for guests to be treated this way simply for pointing out the unhygienic conditions. The host’s attitude was offensive and completely disrespectful toward their clients.

I strongly advise avoiding this property. I’m also attaching some photos so you can see exactly what we encountered.

UPDATE: We've called for booking support on the second day of our stay and all that they could tell us is to ask booking for a refund and comply to the host which we did. So, firstly, the refund request was managed by booking, not by us...and secondly, nobody calls 3 times in a row, the cleaning service over and over again if the problem was solved.
