Where to stay in Genoa

The hotel is really nice, you can meet a lot of people right away. It's very close to the city center, which is super convenient if you want to pop into Genoa. Recommended – it's comfortable and affordable.

The carpet in the room was very dirty, and the kitchenware was not only broken but also greasy, indicating a lack of maintenance. I wouldn't recommend it to people who are very clean. The advantage is that it's very close to the station.

Very nice building, wonderful common areas, everything in order, except for a problem with the elevator, one of the two is not working, so there is a bit of a wait for the elevator.

It's close to the airport; my flight landed quite late, so it only took about 10 minutes to get there. The environment was okay, though a bit noisy on the first floor. I was in such a rush that I didn't have time to explore the area.

This was my favourite place we stayed at while in Italy. The building was stunning and historic, while the rooms were modernized. Breakfast was simply incredible and the staff was warm and friendly. Highly recommend!!!

One of my favorite hotels ever. The way they combined modern style and comforts into this historic building while retaining it's history was truly impressive. There are stairs from the entrance to the front desk, and they helped me with my luggage when I checked in, but they didn't help me with my luggage when I checked out. The man in charge of the restaurant was very kind. The older man at the front desk was unfriendly.

Ideal location and pleasant stay Ideally located and a very short walk to the port area. Complimentary breakfast which was a bonus. Rooms are not huge but this is not an issue if you're out most of the time anyway. Very friendly staff. It is worth asking reception to book a taxi if you're going to the airport (approx. €25).

The location is excellent, a 3-minute walk from the station. It seems to be a family-run hotel; the service was good, the rooms were newly renovated, spacious, and had an elevator. Recently,I had the privilege of staying at the Hotel Vittoria very close to the Principe Railroad Station.I stayed at the Vittoria for 4 nights.I enjoyed my room,I appreciated the nice breakfast,and I liked the hospitality of the Vittoria's staff. The staff helped me find my way to Genoa's delightful art museums(Bianco Palazzo,Rosso Palazzo,Frugone,Diocesan,Saint Augustine)and awesome cathedral.

We enjoyed our stay, staff was very friendly when we checked in. The hotel has several excellent cafes close by, location was decent nice by day and close to all the amenities, and old town.

We went to this hotel after a bad experience we had with another called bologna in Genova and luckily we found our place.The staff did anything to help us immediately and we found what we expected.Overall a good experience that anyone can go.

Basic hotel room which met my needs. My first two nights were a bit noisy due to the proximity of a bar that I was unaware of. My third night was in a different room that was simply quiet bliss! The staff were all wonderful, and the breakfast was delicious. I am still missing the delicious coffees! Hotel Helvetia is close to many attractions, including the train station and the waterfront.

I stayed for a weekend with a group of friends. Basic rooms but very clean. Bed ok. Nice view over the neighbouring villas and partial sea view from the balcony. Great position close to clubs and restaurants. There are 2 chargers for electric vehicles. The young ladies at the reception and the waitresses were very kind.

Unfortunately the room (and the structure) are old, along with the upholstery. After days of travel, they are not the ideal place to relax. The dust in the elevator gears tells of years of neglect. I found the reception staff very kind. Overall, the quality-price ratio is not good.

We arrived on a weekend when hotels were very expensive. If I'd paid three times less for this hotel, which is what it normally costs, I probably wouldn't have complained. However, the value for money was completely unsatisfactory. It's not a place I'd want to return to, unless it undergoes a complete renovation.

I don't know if it's a bad location or that the city is kind of ugly. Although the hotel is located at a super-strategic train and bus stop, the city has a lot to talk about. They were very attentive with the cleanliness of the room, which surprised me. They serviced my room without me asking, so don't leave anything of value inside. It takes 5 minutes to transfer to the center circle of the pier, subway and train station. The hotel is clean and well-equipped. Along the seaside line, you can reach the Maritime Museum and Diving Aquarium. During the period, you can enter the retired submarine, making it suitable for family travel.

This was a very lucky trip. We originally booked this hotel, but this hotel did not have an elevator and our luggage was very heavy. I tried to ask the front desk lady if she could change a room with an elevator for us, and then we were upgraded to a room that was very spacious and comfortable!

Lovely overnight stay in an area just outside city centre by a few kilometres. Still easy to get to and had a local feel with many workers and families coming together under the arcades. Nice to have breakfast included in price. Would recommend the bed to any traveller!
