Genzianella in Santa Caterina Valfurva

Surprise dinner.
We dined as external guests in this hotel because it is located near the residence where we stayed, as I didn't want to dirty the kitchen.
We were offered dinner either at the hotel buffet (hotel buffet quality of course) or à la carte and we chose the buffet. We then took three plates of salad from the buffet, two first and a half (my daughter is 4 years old, so half a portion); to effort we have been encouraged by the latter; two scoops of ice cream for the child and a very small (stale) fruit salad. Half a liter of red wine, 1 liter of water. We arrive at the cash desk and discover that, being external customers, they did not charge us the "buffet" price but every single dish paid a la carte. The total? 97 EUROS. Hallucinating. We paid less for gourmet dinners at other local restaurants. They took advantage of tourists, but no problem: at least I can leave the review. Definitely poor quality of food. Friendly service. Very little transparency on prices. Go elsewhere. Really, 500 meters more are enough.

Staff very rude and grumpy with the athletes and kind and helpful with other guests .. Strange but true ..
Obviously in this hotel they can't stand athletes, they did everything to make the stay of a week of competitions unpleasant for 20 children + 4 adults. After shelling out € 400 per boy, the treatment they received was very unpleasant .. At the end of the week they charge you with no possibility of discussing the damage for a shabby doorknob on a bed for the modest sum of € 35!
To another boy, who accidentally broke the back of an old shabby wooden chair, they presented a damage claim for € 200! For a chair that in the shop will cost € 50 .. And that was probably already damaged ..
Any pretext is good to take money from you .. It seems that they know the price of each piece of furniture by heart !! A constant threatening the boys .. that if you break it costs €€€ ... That costs €€€ .. Also on competition days, the boys, having to leave the hotel at 07:00, skipped breakfast because for the staff it was impossible to anticipate breakfast by 15 '.. Except today .. at the considerable insistence of the coaches. So: if you are not old and so harmless, absolutely avoid this hotel, you will avoid being mistreated and stealing money for insignificant damages ..
If, at the time of booking, the hotelier had pointed out that he did not like ski teams, he would have found something elsewhere anyway. But obviously he would have been sorry to give up a tens of thousands of € ..
Not to see us again ..
