This hotel offers a wide range of services with very helpful and attentive staff.

The rooms are spacious and the bedding is of good quality.

The bathroom is beautifully designed with all the comforts of a five-star hotel, including bathrobes and a special mention for the brown slippers bearing the hotel's logo (a welcome change from white). Even the lighting has a dimmer switch.
One minor drawback: the breakfast could benefit from a few hot dishes other than eggs.

But I highly recommend this hotel and would return if the opportunity arose.

The rooms were large, modern and well appointed. The property is beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful and the location is perfect!

We stayed six nights at Palazzo Tirso MGallery over the New Year period and it turned out to be one of the most balanced boutique-luxury hotel experiences we’ve had in Italy.

The first thing that stands out is the room. High ceilings, large windows and an excellent natural light flow make the space feel calm and generous, even in winter. The design is modern but warm, with clean lines, soft textures and adjustable ambient lighting that allows you to set the mood at any moment of the day. The bed was exceptionally comfortable — large, supportive and dressed with high-quality bedding that made every night feel effortless.

The bathroom deserves special mention. It is designed as a true wet room, with the shower and bathtub enclosed behind glass, creating a private spa-like zone inside the room. Materials feel premium, the layout is practical, and everything works exactly as it should. It is easily one of the best hotel bathrooms we have experienced in this category.

The spa completes the boutique concept. It is not a huge wellness center, but a well-designed, intimate space that must be booked in advance. Access is limited to six people at a time, which keeps the atmosphere quiet and refined. There is an extra fee, but it is worth it — it feels exclusive, calm and perfectly suited for unwinding after a day in the city.

Service was consistently strong. Turn-down service was provided every evening, always with small sweet pastries that were genuinely good, not just decorative. Room service was reliable and well presented, reinforcing the sense that this is a carefully run hotel rather than a large, impersonal one.

We unfortunately never managed to try the restaurant as it was fully booked throughout our stay — which in itself says a lot about its popularity. We also skipped breakfast as we were often out early, but the hotel’s rooftop became a highlight when we returned for the New Year’s Eve party, which was lively, well organized and felt like a real local event rather than a tourist show.

Despite being over the New Year period, the hotel remained quiet and refined. Palazzo Tirso feels like a true boutique property: calm, well-designed, and personal, while still offering full-scale facilities like a proper spa and rooftop venue.

Its location makes it even more attractive — central, walkable, and perfectly positioned to explore Cagliari without needing transport.

Overall, Palazzo Tirso MGallery delivers exactly what modern luxury travelers look for: style, comfort, privacy, and a sense of place. A hotel that feels designed for people who care about atmosphere, not just star ratings.

We stayed for 6 nights, but the hotel only provided two bottles of water in the whole week, as a “welcome drink.” We moved to another five-star hotel in town and they offered complimentary water every day.

Small items like water don’t cost much, but they really make guests feel better cared for.

This is an easy review. This was a superb experience. The staff are wonderful, friendly, helpful, just superb they made us feel so welcome.

The breakfasts were equally wonderful, with great food and an excellent team.

The room was large and clean, comfy bed and a large well equipped bathroom.

Finally, a superb location. Walk out the front and across the road and start exploring.

Great hotel in the middle of Cagliari.

+: Excellent breakfast with fresh juices, great coffee and generous selection of damman teas. Loved the choice of food too, with egg dishes on order.
+: Nice little L'Occitane spa but it's extra (35€ per access). Worth it if you plan to wind down a bit, and the staff is super nice.
+: Lovely rooftop bar with a pool and a panoramic view of the harbour.
+: Staff is nice, professional and speaks French.

+/-: Convenient valet parking (20€ a day) but can't be booked in advance. First come first serve for the duration of the stay.
-: No smart TV features.

Wonderful and luxury hotel at the best possible location in Cagliari. The hotel is only 2 years old and in great condition. The rooftop is the cherry on the cake with a pool, sun loungers, a restaurant and cocktail bar and stunning views over the port and the sea.
The staff is lovely and gave good suggestions for local restaurants and the valet parking was a very welcome bonus. We would definitely book again here next time. Thank you to the wonderful team !

Upon arriving at Palazzo Tirso, a good few hours before the guaranteed check-in time, because my flight was early in the morning, I was informed that my room (a Prestige Suite) had been upgraded to the Presidential Suite. The room was also almost ready, barely at 11 am, and I was offered a welcome drink in the meantime, but I had to wait 15-20 minutes at most.
This stay in Cagliari was part of a trip that was part tourism and visiting a Sardinian friend and part work on my book: needless to say, the accommodation ended up being so wonderful, that I was happy to stay in every morning and a couple of evenings, too, merrily typing away on my laptop, either on the suite’s beautiful leather sofa or the bed, both with stunning views on the sea, port and Cagliari’s medieval heart, the Quartiere Castello, from a huge floor-to-ceiling window.
It was very tempting to sleep in every day, as the Hotel offers all-day room service for breakfast and options for lunch, dinner, desserts, and TV snacks (a few of which are available 24/7). Whenever I emerged from the comforts of my room, though, the rest of the Hotel proved to be just as great: the all-day dining restaurant on the rooftop, Cielo, is another excellent spot for panoramic views of the city, has a great lunch/dinner menu and lovely tapas, mezzes and aperitivo options. I recommend their signature cocktail, Mystic River, which was very good, and spending a couple of hours at the end of the afternoon lounging by the pool (with or without a cocktail). It’s a very peaceful oasis and the perfect place to relax and recharge after a day of walking around Cagliari, with all its uphill routes and the still very sultry heat of September.
The SPA on the -1 floor is an equally good choice for some me-time. Unlike the rooftop pool area, access to the SPA isn’t included in the room rate, but I found the price (50€) fair for what it had to offer. It’s a city spa, so not especially large in size, but the heated pool and whirlpools were delightful. The sauna and steam bath were also fantastic, spacious, clean and kept at the perfect temperature. The selection of dried fruit, nuts, and herbal tea or water was lovely—the Helichrysum-infused water, which I was told was an exclusive preparation for the Palazzo Tirso SPA, was especially good. I’d add that the extra charge and needing to book for a SPA pass (which also offers treatments and massages, and a gym; the latter free of charge) makes sure the space is never overcrowded: the evening I used it, from 6 to 8 pm, I had it all for myself.
However, this review wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the wonderful, wonderful staff of Palazzo Tirso: everyone was nice, friendly, professional, happy to assist, and always doing so with a smile or a kind word. I felt they were very good at adapting their approach to each guest as well. I was travelling alone, so I was happy to exchange a few words at meal times, at the SPA (before and after my stay), and at the reception desk. But if you were in company or simply wanted to be left alone, they were very discreet and respectful, without ever coming off as stuffy. There is more than one staff member that I’d love to mention by name, but I always forget to check with them twice or ask them directly, so that I can actually remember them. I do remember Federico, from the Cielo restaurant staff; but I can also simply say that my experience with everyone was extremely positive.
I had selected two or three hotels before finally booking at Palazzo Tirso and, as I made my choice, I thought that maybe I would try one of the other places another time. I usually like to change things up when I travel. However, I ended up being so happy with my stay at Palazzo Tirso that I’ll probably measure my stays at other hotels against it for quite a while. And of course, whenever I’m in Cagliari, this is the place I’ll stay at.

Very pleased with our stay. The hotel is clean, modern and a very pleasant place to stay in Cagliari.
The staff are are wonderful at their jobs and are very warming to their guests. Luca checked us in and helped us with local restaurants and evening dining experiences, and I can’t appreciate the 5 star service.

Grazie
