B&B Università in Catania

Terrible experience. Unfriendly and unhelpful host. Booked a room through bookings.com and were told upon arrival that no room is available despite the fact that booking status was confirmed in the bookings app. Credit card was
debited for room fee as well. So called host did not provide any assistance at all and did not take any steps for refund of the unrightful debited room fee. Simply said that we should settle the matter with bookings.com ourselves. Unfriendly rude and unhelpful host as he did not reply to my message requesting the return of our room fee. Best is to avoid this place!

JUST DONT DO IT. I woke up with 25 bites all over my body. Whether it was bed bugs or mosquitoes, I’m not sure - I killed 6 mosquitoes and came back to more. I msged the person just to notify the situation and even showed pictures. This person did not have any concern over the matter - this was the scariest thing. If you potentially have bed bugs, would you not be worried? The people running this accommodation do not care about customer service nor health and safety. I’m not even going to go on about the other issues with this place. Just spend the extra bucks.

During our five-day stay as a group of four people in two rooms, we found the rooms and hotel to be nice and clean. The location of the establishment was also good.

We appreciated the flexibility shown by the airport shuttle driver when our flight was delayed.

However, we did encounter some issues during our stay. One incident occurred on the first day when the cleaning person arrived at 10 AM to clean our rooms, even though we were still sleeping. The knocking on the door was so forceful that it woke us up in both rooms. We explained that we were still sleeping, but unfortunately, we were informed that cleaning only took place at 10:30 AM and no alternative options were offered to us. This lack of flexibility regarding room cleaning hours should be taken into consideration by future guests.

Additionally, the breakfast was served at a local cafe nearby, offering just sweets, croissants o brioche. Regrettably, our group included a friend who is gluten intolerant and another with stomach issues. Despite our inquiries, no alternative options were provided for them. It was disheartening to be told that we were the only ones who did not appreciate the delightful Sicilian breakfast.

To our surprise, after these two conversations, the owner contacted one of our friends, accusing one of us of causing too many problems and even saying that we have "mental problems." Consequently, our booking was canceled as a no-show on booking. This caused us considerable stress, as we believed we had been expelled and needed to find alternative accommodations. After reaching out to the owner, we were informed that we could still stay but the booking was canceled to avoid a negative review. Unfortunately, this led to lengthy phone calls with booking.com to avoid cancellation and no-show fees.

Overall, while the establishment provided the basics adequately, our experience was far from positive. It's essential for future guests to be aware of these aspects before considering a stay here.

We order a room for one night this summer via ebookers we receive a message from the hostel telling to us no availability for the date we choose and to process of the cancellation if we don't want to sleep on the street . For this kind of message spend away your Monney

This B&B is well located, with close access to the historic city centre by foot. However, that's the only positive aspect about it. There is a terrible air and smell in the room and bathroom - it creates difficulties breathing and stitchy eyes. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.
