Grand Hotel Baia Verde in Catania

The hotel is below average in everything. The rooms and the bed sheets were not clean, the extra bed was not flat and the mattress were not comfortable also they gave us 2 twin beds although we wanted one double bed because we have a baby who sleeps in the middle. The toilet taps were rusty and the room furniture is outdated, room with no balcony. The parking was not convenient as u need to get out of the car and open the gates with ur room card, and they gave us only one card. U can easily get lost in the hotel corridors as there are no enough signs to the facilities. The breakfast is very limited with no options and sometimes i felt some items are kept from the prev days. The dinner was limited and overpriced as well.Overall I do not recommend.

4 STAR? This is a joke, 2 star hotel maybe 3 star hotel at best.

My recent stay at the Grand Hotel Baia Verde was an utter disappointment. For a hotel that's supposedly 4 stars, it felt more like 2 stars at best. The rooms are outdated, with tired furniture and decor that look like they haven't been updated in decades. Definitely not what you expect from a "grand" hotel.

If you're hoping for dining options nearby, forget about it. The hotel is in a remote location with absolutely no restaurants or fast food options within walking distance. You're forced to eat at the hotel, and let me tell you, their bar is outrageously expensive. They seem to take full advantage of their isolated location by overcharging for everything.

The breakfast was one of the worst parts of my stay. Bland, unappetizing, and very limited choices. It's hard to believe this is supposed to be a 4-star hotel

To top it off, the staff were rude and unpleasant. Simple request was met with an attitude, and it felt like they couldn’t care less about their guests' experience.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. It's overpriced, lacks basic amenities, and delivers a poor customer experience. Look elsewhere if you're visiting Catania

Due to an eruption of Mount Etna, my flight was cancelled and I had to find a room for an extra night. I wanted a hotel with a pool, but this wasn't easy due to the holiday season. At the same time I didn't want to spend too much. I ended up here and paid almost 190€ for one night. The hotel is quite old and staid, which is evident from the entire complex at first glance. I found the room particularly old and impractical, as there were hardly any power sockets and the shower was just an old bathtub. However, the hotel seems to be popular with other guests who, I got the impression, were not staying here for the first time. The employees, which were friendly in general, tried to clean the pool from the ash, but it took at least all day long, so that I couldn’t use it during my stay. One thing I liked about the hotel facilities was the area next to the sea, where you had access to swim in the sea and sun beds were provided within the rocky cliffs.
