Excellent location, breakfast (let's face it), economy rooms (if you can call them rooms) are run-down and a bit overpriced (for the type), accessed via a staircase hidden by a curtain, an old attic room with low ceilings, and a tiny bathroom with a sink you wouldn't find even in a (very small) nursery. So, what are we talking about? Avoid economy rooms, and don't trust the photos. Disappointed.

I made a reservation at this hotel on March 25th for an arrival on October 6th, for a group of 9 people. On October 2nd, the hotel cancelled my reservation due to renovations and offered me alternative accommodation in a neighborhood that didn't suit me. I found another place to stay in the same area myself with great difficulty, just 4 days before my departure. So, for my next visit to Catania, I don't yet know where I'll stay, but it certainly won't be at San Demetrio Rooms!

Nice hotel in the city center. Everything within walking distance. Hotel service is good and staff is friendly. The air conditioning leaked a lot, but for the price, the hotel is okay. Parking is very convenient, but you have to know where to find it. It's next to Scout. You call the hotel and the doors open automatically.

Ok I paid the cheapest room and was cheap indeed, but my room had like 1.85 mts Hight from floor to ceiling....I am 1.83 so by just put on my feet toes I could reach the ceiling....and the bad room was with lots of humidity spots....the breakfast was included with some gluten free pastries which was really appreciated and wifi worked very well but the room was scary. They offer parking for 10 euros, make sure you reserve it, because there is no place to park close to the hotel as is at less than 5 minutes walking to the main square in old town Catania, so location couldn't be better.

What a fantastic find. I travel a lot (and solo) and for a single room one of the more affordable comfortable ones! While I went in a heat wave so AC could be a bit stronger it was very comfortable overall. The staff were amazing and made the difference. Easy automatic check in, let me check out 30mins later than usual and overall so friendly and helpful. Loved and will be staying again

Very centrally located and staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. Highly recommend and a nice place to rest. Great view of neighborhood with a private balcony that was entertaining and peaceful. Breakfast was very good and varied.

I'm sorry for my English. Do not pay breakfast at this hotel! Breakfast costs 3 EUR and you will get a voucher to a nearby café where you can get the same thing at 2.20 EUR. Hotel San Demetrio makes a profit for a service it does not provide! That's not OK. Usually you get a discount in nearby restaurants and not a surcharge!
