Hotel Abano Astoria in Abano Terme

It is one of the few hotels where you still have the feeling that “the customer comes first” – especially when something needs to be discussed directly with Gianni and his wife. They really take good care of their hotel. We particularly liked the Christmas decorations, daily room cleaning, evening programs, and the wellness area.

However, in a four-star hotel we would have expected bathrobes and towels for the wellness area to be included free of charge (here they cost €10).

As for the food, lunches and dinners were generally tasty, but we have a few remarks. We were unpleasantly surprised that water is not included and costs €3 per bottle. It would be much more appropriate to offer a free carafe of water. The waiter should also inform guests in advance that the water is charged, instead of bringing it automatically to the table.

We would also appreciate earlier dinner times, ideally from 6:00 p.m. Dinners here start only after 7:30 p.m., and even later on New Year’s Eve.

Unfortunately, everything can be heard in the rooms, and we happened to have very noisy guests above us who gathered during siesta time and were extremely loud.

Compared to other hotels, we found the breakfasts rather weak and repetitive. We would welcome more healthy options, such as fresh juices and a wider selection of fruit and vegetables. Blueberries, bananas, strawberries, or melon were not offered at all. The pancakes prepared in the kitchen were unfortunately very greasy.

Coffee and tea are prepared by the waiter using a machine. If guests could prepare their own drinks, it would be faster and avoid unnecessary waiting, while also making the waiter’s job easier.

We visited the hotel again after ten years. Although the hotel is older, the services are generally satisfactory and the price corresponds to the quality.

At this hotel, you genuinely feel at home. The staff are exceptionally generous and warm-hearted, always welcoming you with a smile and making sure you’re well taken care of.

The rooms offer breathtaking view: overlooking the lush, forest-covered mountains and the hotel’s beautifully maintained garden. Everything is spotlessly clean, and the breakfast is outstanding.

The hotel features several indoor and outdoor pools, all filled with naturally heated thermal water sourced from deep beneath the Alpine mountains. The mineral-rich waters have both therapeutic and deeply relaxing qualities.

You’re provided with a variety of clean towels, so there’s absolutely nothing to worry about—just enjoy and unwind. The hotel bar is always ready to serve you, and for those interested, there are group aqua fitness sessions and musical entertainment programs available.

This is the perfect place to relax, recharge, and feel completely cared for.

Attention to detail is what makes the Abano Astoria a standout experience. While the rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable, the amenities ample, and the surroundings beautiful, it is the care offered by the staff that will encourage me to return as soon as possible. Nothing was too much trouble; any need was pre-empted and attended to; highly skilled staff in all areas seemed to genuinely take pride in their work and what they provided to guests. The warmth and hospitality offered by staff to guests suffused the entire atmosphere of the place, increasing the sense of restfulness and tranquility. It is always a concern when travelling with specific dietary requirements, but there was ample provision of vegan options (the white asparagus was one of the best things I've *ever* eaten), and always an attempt to persuade that there's still room for dessert... I had such a wonderful time. Thank you so much to the entire team at Abano Astoria. I'll see you again very soon.

This is one of my favourite hotels in Italy. I have stayed there often and have found the staff to be welcoming and friendly at all times. Nothing appears to be too much trouble and I have always been met with kindness and a smile. The food is excellent, with great choices for breakfast and a lunch and evening menu that would rival some of the best restaurants in Italy. This is the perfect hotel for an escape from the business of life, with plenty of areas to relax both indoor and outdoor. There is a huge pool with a variety of spa jets for aching muscles. One needs to try the thermal mud (fango) treatments followed by a therapeutic message. One of my favourite things is to swim under the stars in the thermal pool before bedtime. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. The staff have, without exception, continued to provide the best possible experience for me over the past few years and I look forward to returning soon.

Very positive experience. It's our second visit from Australia . Very clean hotel with excellent pools , spa and saunas, good house keeping, friendly and HELPFUL staff. Room may be a little outdated,but it did not upset us . Special thanks to Grazia exercise instructor, very pleasant and softly spoken .

Food is delicious and personell is really polite. The location is central and the overall experience was super.
