Albergo Nuova Aurora in Marghera

AVOID THIS HOTEL! Never have I been treated SO poorly as I was by the owner of this hotel. Here’s the story: I booked a room online for this hotel for a Saturday night, I specified in the reservation that we were going to be arriving between midnight and 1 am. My boyfriend and I arrived closer to 1:45 am but the owner was still aware of our late arrival. We asked, the best that we could in Italian, for our room. Then the most unexpected reaction happened: the owner started YELLING at me saying that he didn’t have a room for us and that my reservation was not there. I showed him my phone with the reservation but he continued to point at his clipboard saying he didn’t have it. He said “how could he trust that I would actually arrive and pay”…what? He had just said he didn’t have my reservation and yet he knew about it!!!! He kept pointing at his clipboard but he never actually let me see it. He continued to yell at me in Italian saying that even if I did have a reservation he didn’t have any rooms available, case closed! Nearly 2 am, my boyfriend and I found ourselves in the cold Venetian night, homeless, tired, internet-less and with ALL other hotels BOOKED! What the hell is a reservation good for if not to RESERVE a place in a hotel. I don’t know what angered us the most if the fact that he gave our room away or his HORRIBLE, MEAN, RUDE, COLD, SHAMELESS, attitude. Imagine yourself not knowing the language and being confronted to a man like this. Luckily (or not?) I understand Italian, I don’t speak it fluently but I knew what he was saying, unluckily I wasn’t able to express my COMPLETE disapproval and anger over this situation. AVOID THIS HOTEL! (Plus, you wouldn’t be missing out on anything, it’s located on the side of the road, prostitutes on every corner, next to an industrial zone that I can only imagine is super noisy in the morning)!

Stay away from this hotel!! The bed was full of bed bugs and unfortunately we didn't realise only after we got bitten! The hotel employe was quite unhelpful, didn't speak english and when we confronted him about the issue, he tried to blame us as we were responsible for bringing the bed bugs into the room!

Very friendly staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. Little breakfast, guarded parking place. Bus 53 to Venice is a 200 meters walk.
