Reviews
Also Olimpia was kind and offered us an early check In because the rooms was ready.
We got an apartment with double and triple room for 2 adults and 3 children.
The negative aspect is the TV are ancient.... You need to wait 5 years to open YouTube or other App.
Good breakfast offered us for a 7€ per adult extra fee.
I can't say this is a luxury hotel but is clean and comfortable. Maybe the price is s higher compare with the conditions..
Hotel gets the job done, its cheap, you get a bed to sleep in, train and bus is close and easy to get to Venice.
Dont expect anything else, the hotel is practically falling apart, it is only held together by hope and dreams. The rooms very relatively clean but they are old and not well maintained. The surronding area is also not very welcoming.
For the price and location, it’s more than good.
We had an awful night before coming here because of the reviews, lost sleep over jt, but upon arrival we were created happily and kindly.
The room was clean, run down, but clean, kinda like the local area. I think you need to take into account the cost of coming to Venice and be reasonable.
The beds were comfy and the bathroom was clean, no mould, no bugs etc - it's a place to sleep, and if you're on a budget in Venice, the No.2/7/6/6L all run from nearby and Lidl down the road can do snacks for the day.
Booking.com says this is an 8.0 which is a bit high, yes you pay more here than you would in other parts of Europe but you are on the doorstep of Venice, so it's gonna cost a bit more.
Everything in the room worked, the power sockets were simple, the door locking was odd at first because you can always open from the inside but that's a quirk of the lock.
The breakfast was okay, there is a buffet assortment of cereal, milk, fruit, yogurt, pastries and bread (no hot food) and coffee/juices. The coffee machine does piss-weak coffee, I've never had an espresso where I can see the bottom of the cup before... Especially in Italy of all places... But after 5/6 of them you tend to get the same effect as one.
The manager was nice, I don't get why he gets criticism! I personally believe his tone has been misunderstood, I think some of these reviews are a result of "lost in translation" where both sides have not understood each other.
I think the critisism is really unfair, this is not a 3 star hotel but if set your expectations accordingly when booking, you will find yourself asleep with a clean and secure bedroom, clean bathroom and easy access to Venice.
That being said, I do have some fair critisism / points to make it just a bit better. FYI these are not complaints, just little quality of life things!
1. Shower height adjustment - the shower is small and the set height is made for someone under 5ft 10" in height so it's a bit tough to use if you are taller but it's manageable.
2. An information leaflet in the room with WiFi code, and some explanations about how the TV works, why the door lock is like it is and how to drain the sink (if you are not from Europe this is odd!)
3. Shower sealant, might just me our room but the shower leaks outside of the shower tub on both sides, not an issue, but if it persists with other guests, water damage can get under the tiles!
Overall, this ticked the box for site seeing and in future I'd probably look for an airbnb or stay further out as the transport into Venice is more than adequate! 🚌🚌
