Booked room with the onsen and it was a nice touch but it might cost a bit... nevertheless the service was good and they do have free shuttle. Just take note its just to the station. If you would like to visit Shuzenji temple, you gotta get down and walk the other direction. Breakfast has a wide variety. 👍🏻
P.s. try checking in earlier, cause when it gets dark, its might be difficult to find your...
This is good for family vacation. Extremely nice area. Next time I will stay longer
Nice hotel with great environment, located in the mountains where the nature is great 👍
The hotel is clean and the room is spacious, if you’re into Zen etc then it’s perfect location for that, Otherwise you will need to resort to shuttle bus and in our case we rented a car to get around the local areas. I didn’t know that regardless of you use it or not you will be charged for the onsen fee, which no one tell us at check in, it’s a small thing but it would be nice to be told everything...
Fantastic hotel. The room was spacious, new, and offered a direct view of Mount Fuji, complete with a private in-room onsen. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful.
This is a very comfortable resort and spa hotel. It has a huge footprint and a typical American hotel style. The rooms are comfortable, and the balconies come with private hot spring baths that are kept at a constant temperature 24/7 with flowing hot water. It's a wonderful blend of Japanese onsen culture – meticulous yet incredibly relaxing – allowing you to enjoy a hot spring experience without even...

Izu, 2571-10, Yugashima, Izu-shi 🧭 Map
One of the best Natural Onsen Resorts. Had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the onsen and great nature view of Golf play, mount Fuji San was looking beautiful from this location in the early morning.
Great hotel with location next to the beautiful golf course, really handy for golfer! Breakfast is good with wide variety of food.
The staff service attitude is very good; although I did not book dinner, and do not want to drive down the mountain, in the end the restaurant can arrange a fried pork chop rice for us, really delicious 😋 still in a comfortable separate room to enjoy 👍. The only thing to be picky about is whether there are street lights when it's too inconvenient to go up the hill.
The hotel is great. The environment is very good. The scenery is beautiful. The outdoor hot spring is very comfortable.
Pros: The hotel is on the mountain, with beautiful environment, fresh air, and a golf course. Cons: Old facilities, average breakfast and dinner, about 25 minutes away from Shuzenji Station, suitable for self-driving travel
Beautiful Mountain View . Old building. Food for reservation only. 7 miles mountain drive to the location.

So glad I did some research and decided to stay here- at the hotel and in Izu vs super touristy Hakone. The hotel is exceptional from start to finish. Definitely one of those places that you remember and the staff are incredible. 100% guaranteed great stay. Hope to visit again at some point.
We got engaged in Ochiairo! The most beautiful hotel I have experienced in Japan. Quiet luxury at its finest.
This is the most magical place I’ve ever stayed… at times it felt like the closest thing to heaven on earth. If you are thinking of reserving a room, don’t hesitate. I couldn’t recommend this beautiful ryokan highly enough.
Ochiairo was even more beautiful than expected - the entrance and hallways smell really nice and you get a feeling of calmness immediately. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the onsen area outdoors is a really magical place - birds chirping around you, the river sounds in your ears and a bit of sunshine make you forget everything else. We had an amazing time and got...
hotel in the country side on a beautiful river. They have an open bar all the time and so many staff. Dinner is a 7 course meal with fish meet and loads more in between. The room we had was really nice and big over looking trees and the garden. They have a wonderful spa area that’s both for men and women and on their own. They also have a sauna the overlooks the river and it’s really great. There isn...
Located beside the stream, it is a nice Japanese hot spring courtyard holiday experience! The private hot spring experience is good, and the meals in the morning and evening also give a sense of ritual. It's just that the tatami in the bedroom area does not have floor heating in winter, which makes it a little uncomfortable. Maybe it would be more comfortable to go out in spring and escape the heat...

I had a wonderful stay at Orange House. The hotel boasts an elegant and tranquil environment, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere overall. There weren't many guests during my visit, which made for a great experience. The hot spring water was excellent; after a soak, my skin felt smooth and delicate, truly helping to relieve travel fatigue. The food was also impressive; both the quality of...
This onsen is very affordable and offers great value for money. One of the best things is the availability of private onsen baths that don’t require any reservation—you can simply walk in and use them. There are quite a few private baths available, so the waiting time is usually very short or almost none.
However, there aren’t many dining options nearby, so it’s best to come prepared, especially if...
This was the most pleasant surprise hotel on our trip to Izu! When I booked online, there were no twin rooms available, so I reserved a king-sized room. Upon arrival, I spoke with the front desk, and they graciously switched us to a Japanese-style room for a small additional fee. The decor was lovely, and the breakfast was excellent. The best part was the hotel's seven private onsen baths, available...
Super family friendly
With bumbo baby seat at restaurant and baby bath tub
This Dormy Inn hotel maintains its signature style. There are seven private onsen on the 4th floor, and a public bath on the top floor, making for a truly wonderful hot spring experience. Both dinner and breakfast are served buffet-style, with a good variety of food that is refilled promptly. In the evenings, there's complimentary ramen, and after a soak, free cold drinks. In the mornings, you can...
We had a wonderful stay at the Shuzenji onsen Katsuragawa. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome from check-in to check-out. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and the bed was so comfortable. The hotel's location was perfect.

Have to cook the food yourself. Onsen is tiny, for 3 people max, not very hot. Service is present, staff is annoyed, expecting you to know everything about their accommodation. I would recommend to come with friends rather than as a couple.
Includes one dinner and one breakfast
Large amount of food and variety
The room is fully equipped with manual hand-grinded coffee
The large bath was clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed it alone for nearly two hours.
Maybe it’s because many people booked a private bath.
The campsite is beautifully laid out and the campfire at night is a great atmosphere
Overall, a good experience
There was just a weird...
It's very clean. The bath, toilet, etc. There's a river nearby, so it's great in the summer.
The cleaning was thorough throughout and I had a pleasant stay.
The dog run was a little scary because it had some steep slopes and there was no roof, so there were times in the summer when there was no shade, but other than that I was very satisfied.
I stayed with my pet. It was a very comfortable stay! The family bath was also clean and relaxing.

A beautiful hotel with amazing hot springs, including private ones for a more secluded experience. The scenery is stunning, perfect for taking lots of photos. They even offer ramen at night! Highly recommend to all hot spring lovers.
Nice little Ryokan located in the middle of shuzenji. Walking distance to the bamboo path. Had private onsen for usage and several lounges around. Room had a very good view of the stream and amenities were well stocked. We had a great stay and would recommend this place
Absolutely gem of a ryokan and our favourite place to stay. Admittedly we did have the western beds (very cozy). Having a room along the river and across the suspension bridge was magical and exciting. Everything was perfect. The staff were so welcoming and made us feel incredibly at home from the moment we arrived.
The highlight for us was our private riverside onsen right in our room—soaking there...
Good vibe and very authentic Japanese ryokan. Never get thirsty with soda/beer machines everywhere freeflow during the day, never get hungry with afternoon oden, traditional many dishes kaiseki dinner, midnight supper and western/japanese breakfast. Offered both public and private onsen, relaxing to the max.
Super cool town loads to walk around, staff were great, the man is really good. They also had a midnight noodle bar.

It's a 45-minute bus ride from Ito Station. Located on a plateau, it's much cooler than Ito city. The hot springs include a large public bath, sauna, and mist sauna. There is no open-air bath. The building is old, but the whole place has been well-maintained and doesn't feel dated. Although it's located deep in the mountains, the high level of food and service has been maintained, which is a testament...

The location is great and the amenities are extensive. Keep in mind that you'll need to allow extra time to get to the public baths and other facilities, as they are a bit of a walk. Also, if you're not sure about dinner options, the front desk can provide recommendations.
This stay was great! The room was clean and tidy, and the space was more comfortable than I expected. The location is convenient, with plenty of food options nearby, and transportation is very accessible. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance.
We had an amazing stay here! The rooms were clean, spacious and most importantly, it had a great view of Fuji! The onsen in the room was great too!
I had a wonderful stay at Laforet Shuzenji Sanshisuimei. Overall, the experience was excellent and very relaxing.
I booked the Mt. Fuji Side Hot Spring Open-air Bath room, and it was absolutely worth it. The room was very spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Having a private onsen bath in the room made the stay feel extra special. Soaking in the open-air bath while enjoying the peaceful mountain...
The hot spring was fantastic! While the location was a bit inconvenient, it was great to be surrounded by nature. Dinner, perhaps because my expectations were high, felt a bit lacking in portion size, but the taste was delicious.
Waking up to see the Mount Fuji from the room is the highlight. Hot spring is also available in the room. The hotel rooms are spacious and located over the hillside - the most convenient way to commute between buildings are via car/ shuttle bus; walking may take much longer. Lights in the room are a bit too dim to us. Limited amenities are available, with no toothbrush/ toothpaste in room. Futons are...

we had such a quality time at Kokuya, lovely ryokan with a long history but it is very clean and comfortable. Our room is by the river, the sound of stream is so soothing. This is a nice quiet area with good privacy. We climbed to Fujisan himi hill and saw the Mt. Fuji from distance, it was worth it. All meals are good, great service. Wish we had stayed more days.
Serene stay and authentically Japanese! Grounds are gorgeous, staff is wonderful. Bakery is delicious too and you can put your feet in their hot water footbath while you enjoy a treat.
We had a wonderful stay at Tofuya Resort & Spa Izu last month. The resort is beautifully nestled in a peaceful, green setting with stunning views and fresh air. The onsen and spa facilities were excellent — the hot springs were relaxing and well-maintained, perfect after a day of exploring Izu.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with thoughtful amenities. Staff were friendly and...
A beautiful property with traditional Japanese architecture. Both the Kaiseki dinner and breakfast were exquisite. We thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable outdoor public onsen, as well as the very relaxing private bath (just be sure to book in advance!).
Most importantly, I want to express my sincere gratitude to Ms. Umakoshi. My husband felt unwell during the night, and she provided us with so much...

Very enthusiastic staff during check in. Ryokan is run mostly by foreign staff who spoke fluent English. They are hardworking and welcoming.
Room allocated is aged and musty smelling. Hot spring bath is good though.
Kaiseiki Dinner at this ryokan was the worst of the four we had during our Izu pennisula trip. We were served beef that was not fresh, sashimi with tough tendon that should have been...
I highly recommend this onsen ryokan! Among traditional Japanese hot spring hotels, its facilities are quite new. The garden environment is beautiful and the service is superb! The food might not look like a huge portion at first glance, but there are many dishes and it's definitely filling and delicious. The wasabi-themed dishes are especially unique.
This was the hotel we were most looking forward to in Izu. The day we arrived, a young man from the entrance ran over to help us with our luggage from a distance. We were really excited about dinner; there was a huge variety of delicious food. We even paid extra for a lobster sashimi and sake, which was excellent! The room itself was quite simple, but the entire hotel environment was beautiful and...
The room was okay, though a bit dated. Dinner was average, but the service was excellent, and the outdoor hot spring was a real highlight.
The services were top-notch. The dinner and breakfast were all meticulously prepared and served.
Perfect! Words can't describe our experience. It was simply beautiful, showcasing the best of Japan: courtesy, cleanliness, meticulous attention to detail, and exquisite cuisine.
This is the hometown of the Izu Dancer, and wasabi is cultivated right down the mountain.
The hotel told a story about wasabi from beginning to end...

The staff is very friendly. There is a paid private onsen. Suitable for a couple who want privacy. The half-board meal is worth it. It is a 10-course Dinner.
The room facilities are a bit old, but the sanitation is still clean. However, there is a smell when the air conditioner is turned down low, and there are no toiletries in the bathroom. The service attitude of the staff is very good.
Perhaps because the hot springs aren't quite as private as they used to be, the hotel only has a small indoor onsen, which is more suitable for couples. It's a bit lacking for hot spring lovers, but the overall service and food were excellent!
The hotel I booked for this trip to Izu was better than expected. I highly recommend it. The hotel environment, hygiene, and service are all very good. The room is spacious and quiet. The breakfast and dinner are of good quality and taste good. I highly recommend it.
Very nice ryokan for the first time. Perfect service, tasty dinner, relaxing onsen area
The staff was very professional and kind. We reserved the private onsen for an additional cost. We booked the biggest onsen. The washing area and the changing room was impeccably clean. The end of the tub however was a bit scary. The walls and ceiling was covered in spider webs and there were giant spiders hanging on there which was a bit unnerving. Otherwise the public washing areas and the room were...
