Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenji, Izu1 / 30

Izu, 1529 Odaira 🧭 Map
Booked room with the onsen and it was a nice touch but it might cost a bit... nevertheless the service was good and they do have free shuttle. Just take note its just to the station. If you would like to visit Shuzenji temple, you gotta get down and walk the other direction. Breakfast has a wide variety. 👍🏻 P.s. try checking in earlier, cause when it gets dark, its might be difficult to find your...
This is good for family vacation. Extremely nice area. Next time I will stay longer
Nice hotel with great environment, located in the mountains where the nature is great 👍
The hotel is clean and the room is spacious, if you’re into Zen etc then it’s perfect location for that, Otherwise you will need to resort to shuttle bus and in our case we rented a car to get around the local areas. I didn’t know that regardless of you use it or not you will be charged for the onsen fee, which no one tell us at check in, it’s a small thing but it would be nice to be told everything...
Fantastic hotel. The room was spacious, new, and offered a direct view of Mount Fuji, complete with a private in-room onsen. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful.
This is a very comfortable resort and spa hotel. It has a huge footprint and a typical American hotel style. The rooms are comfortable, and the balconies come with private hot spring baths that are kept at a constant temperature 24/7 with flowing hot water. It's a wonderful blend of Japanese onsen culture – meticulous yet incredibly relaxing – allowing you to enjoy a hot spring experience without even...

I had a wonderful stay at Orange House. The hotel boasts an elegant and tranquil environment, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere overall. There weren't many guests during my visit, which made for a great experience. The hot spring water was excellent; after a soak, my skin felt smooth and delicate, truly helping to relieve travel fatigue. The food was also impressive; both the quality of...
This onsen is very affordable and offers great value for money. One of the best things is the availability of private onsen baths that don’t require any reservation—you can simply walk in and use them. There are quite a few private baths available, so the waiting time is usually very short or almost none. However, there aren’t many dining options nearby, so it’s best to come prepared, especially if...
This was the most pleasant surprise hotel on our trip to Izu! When I booked online, there were no twin rooms available, so I reserved a king-sized room. Upon arrival, I spoke with the front desk, and they graciously switched us to a Japanese-style room for a small additional fee. The decor was lovely, and the breakfast was excellent. The best part was the hotel's seven private onsen baths, available...
Super family friendly With bumbo baby seat at restaurant and baby bath tub
This Dormy Inn hotel maintains its signature style. There are seven private onsen on the 4th floor, and a public bath on the top floor, making for a truly wonderful hot spring experience. Both dinner and breakfast are served buffet-style, with a good variety of food that is refilled promptly. In the evenings, there's complimentary ramen, and after a soak, free cold drinks. In the mornings, you can...

One of the best Natural Onsen Resorts. Had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the onsen and great nature view of Golf play, mount Fuji San was looking beautiful from this location in the early morning.
Great hotel with location next to the beautiful golf course, really handy for golfer! Breakfast is good with wide variety of food.
The staff service attitude is very good; although I did not book dinner, and do not want to drive down the mountain, in the end the restaurant can arrange a fried pork chop rice for us, really delicious 😋 still in a comfortable separate room to enjoy 👍. The only thing to be picky about is whether there are street lights when it's too inconvenient to go up the hill.
The hotel is great. The environment is very good. The scenery is beautiful. The outdoor hot spring is very comfortable.
Pros: The hotel is on the mountain, with beautiful environment, fresh air, and a golf course. Cons: Old facilities, average breakfast and dinner, about 25 minutes away from Shuzenji Station, suitable for self-driving travel
Beautiful Mountain View . Old building. Food for reservation only. 7 miles mountain drive to the location.

Have to cook the food yourself. Onsen is tiny, for 3 people max, not very hot. Service is present, staff is annoyed, expecting you to know everything about their accommodation. I would recommend to come with friends rather than as a couple.
Includes one dinner and one breakfast Large amount of food and variety The room is fully equipped with manual hand-grinded coffee The large bath was clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed it alone for nearly two hours. Maybe it’s because many people booked a private bath. The campsite is beautifully laid out and the campfire at night is a great atmosphere Overall, a good experience There was just a weird...
It's very clean. The bath, toilet, etc. There's a river nearby, so it's great in the summer.
The cleaning was thorough throughout and I had a pleasant stay.
The dog run was a little scary because it had some steep slopes and there was no roof, so there were times in the summer when there was no shade, but other than that I was very satisfied.
I stayed with my pet. It was a very comfortable stay! The family bath was also clean and relaxing.

A beautiful hotel with amazing hot springs, including private ones for a more secluded experience. The scenery is stunning, perfect for taking lots of photos. They even offer ramen at night! Highly recommend to all hot spring lovers.
Nice little Ryokan located in the middle of shuzenji. Walking distance to the bamboo path. Had private onsen for usage and several lounges around. Room had a very good view of the stream and amenities were well stocked. We had a great stay and would recommend this place
Absolutely gem of a ryokan and our favourite place to stay. Admittedly we did have the western beds (very cozy). Having a room along the river and across the suspension bridge was magical and exciting. Everything was perfect. The staff were so welcoming and made us feel incredibly at home from the moment we arrived. The highlight for us was our private riverside onsen right in our room—soaking there...
Good vibe and very authentic Japanese ryokan. Never get thirsty with soda/beer machines everywhere freeflow during the day, never get hungry with afternoon oden, traditional many dishes kaiseki dinner, midnight supper and western/japanese breakfast. Offered both public and private onsen, relaxing to the max.
Super cool town loads to walk around, staff were great, the man is really good. They also had a midnight noodle bar.

It's a 45-minute bus ride from Ito Station. Located on a plateau, it's much cooler than Ito city. The hot springs include a large public bath, sauna, and mist sauna. There is no open-air bath. The location is great and the amenities are extensive. Keep in mind that you'll need to allow extra time to get to the public baths and other facilities, as they are a bit of a walk. Also, if you're not sure about dinner options, the front desk can provide recommendations.
This stay was great! The room was clean and tidy, and the space was more comfortable than I expected. The location is convenient, with plenty of food options nearby, and transportation is very accessible. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again if I have the chance.
We had an amazing stay here! The rooms were clean, spacious and most importantly, it had a great view of Fuji! The onsen in the room was great too!
I had a wonderful stay at Laforet Shuzenji Sanshisuimei. Overall, the experience was excellent and very relaxing. I booked the Mt. The hot spring was fantastic! While the location was a bit inconvenient, it was great to be surrounded by nature. Dinner, perhaps because my expectations were high, felt a bit lacking in portion size, but the taste was delicious.
Waking up to see the Mount Fuji from the room is the highlight. Hot spring is also available in the room. we had such a quality time at Kokuya, lovely ryokan with a long history but it is very clean and comfortable. Our room is by the river, the sound of stream is so soothing. This is a nice quiet area with good privacy. We climbed to Fujisan himi hill and saw the Mt. Fuji from distance, it was worth it. All meals are good, great service. Wish we had stayed more days.
Serene stay and authentically Japanese! Grounds are gorgeous, staff is wonderful. Bakery is delicious too and you can put your feet in their hot water footbath while you enjoy a treat.
We had a wonderful stay at Tofuya Resort & Spa Izu last month. The resort is beautifully nestled in a peaceful, green setting with stunning views and fresh air. Very enthusiastic staff during check in. Ryokan is run mostly by foreign staff who spoke fluent English. They are hardworking and welcoming. Room allocated is aged and musty smelling. I highly recommend this onsen ryokan! Among traditional Japanese hot spring hotels, its facilities are quite new. The garden environment is beautiful and the service is superb! The food might not look like a huge portion at first glance, but there are many dishes and it's definitely filling and delicious. The wasabi-themed dishes are especially unique.
This was the hotel we were most looking forward to in Izu. The day we arrived, a young man from the entrance ran over to help us with our luggage from a distance. I visited this ryokan with high expectations, given its rich history and tradition, and I'm so glad to say it met them all. I made some wonderful memories here. While the cleanliness was a slight concern due to the nature of tatami flooring, I was completely satisfied with everything else, from the service and meals to the hot springs!
A very old but beautiful ryokan. The dinners and breakfasts are incredibly filling and varied. The grounds are very atmospheric and full of character. The open-air baths are a must-visit, especially during the momiji (autumn leaves) season.
It was a great experience! Very authentic and impressive.
This was truly a fantastic experience.  Everything was better than I'd imagined. I rarely think "I should come back here", but for this place, I'd make a special trip just to come stay again, even if for only one more night.
The best ryokan I have ever visited in Japan. You feel at home. It is located in a picturesque place with its own sakura alley, momiji. There is a bamboo grove. The hotel is nice and spacious, and the breakfast is fantastic! 👍 For a Japanese-style breakfast, it's incredibly diverse, offering chicken, fish, eggs, fruits, and pastries, all at a good price. The only downside is that as a tourist destination, there isn't much to see, mainly the unique streetscapes of the onsen town… otherwise, it feels a bit like a large rural area. 😀 The hot springs are amazing...
The hotel is quite old and dated.
It's an old but very nice hotel. The room is in a traditional Japanese style, with yukata, tea set, futons, tatami mats - everything is as it should be! Very clean and cozy, definitely recommend it. It's a pity that you can't visit the onsen if you have a tattoo, but it's okay! There was a magnificent view of the mountains and the village from the window!
rooms were big and spacious however the aircon was abit noisy and it affected my sleep. Building is also dated and it’s evident. Onsen are nice and big very spacious. even had outdoor section which was abit small but still okay
The hotel is a bit dated, and its facilities aren't very modern, but it's kept quite clean. It's one of the larger hotels in the area, so expect tour groups to stay here. The breakfast was decent.

This one should be a solid five. Room/service/view/food everything is perfectly fine!
The check-in experience at this onsen hotel didn't feel like staying in a Japanese onsen. All service staff were foreign talents. I stayed here in March for anniversary. The environment of this onsen hotel is soooo great. With water dispenser provided in room. Staff are able to speak English well and communication is not an issue. Highly recommended
It was quiet and peaceful, and all the staff were foreigners, but they were polite and kind. The food was both delicious and presented well. However, the rooms were dark and the stairs were steep, so I think it might be difficult for elderly people.
The spaciousness of the room and the comfort of the free-flowing open-air bath were all excellent. The meals were served in a quiet environment and the portions were just right, so I was very satisfied.
Excellent location and services, highly recommend! However there are several areas of improvement, 1) add a clothes rack at the entrance of the house, there is nowhere to hang our clothes on the main floor, 2) add an instruction to operation of the heater, we are not japanese local and spent some time to understand there is a switch on the wall to turn on the gas ! 3) would be better if you can...

This is the most magical place I’ve ever stayed… at times it felt like the closest thing to heaven on earth. If you are thinking of reserving a room, don’t hesitate. I couldn’t recommend this beautiful ryokan highly enough.
Ochiairo was even more beautiful than expected - the entrance and hallways smell really nice and you get a feeling of calmness immediately. Located beside the stream, it is a nice Japanese hot spring courtyard holiday experience! The dinner was very unique and special.
All the staff at the hotel were really friendly, theres a public onsen (indoor and rotenba) on lvl 2, and a lvl 6 rooftop footbath. Both days breakfast were delicious. Definitely will revisit the place when i come back to nishiizu. Bus from shuzenji stops right infront of the hotel, traveling back to main town is convienient too.
The room was spacious and clean, but I was bothered by the smell of meat grilling for dinner in the public bath. Dinner was delicious, but unfortunately, the smell of grilling meat permeated the entire room, and after taking a hot spring bath, my yukata and hair ended up smelling like it. However, I am grateful for the kind and attentive service from all the staff.
Unbelievably great! 👍 I'll definitely come again! 👌
We stayed here for my boyfriend's birthday trip. He became ill on the way to the hotel, so they quickly changed our dinner to in-room dining. We chose this destination for our 25th wedding anniversary trip, and we were thoroughly impressed with the excellent service, delicious and well-prepared meals, and the lovely accommodation. It was a wonderful traditional Japanese stay. The rooms were newly renovated and the environment was very quiet. The traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast were both very special. The private bath was a great experience. I recommend that people set aside their pursuit of "newness and modernity" and immerse themselves in traditional Japanese culture for a day; it's a truly relaxing experience.
The hotel was nice. The owner and staff were super friendly. Highlight was the breakfast by the river.
The gurgling stream is so relaxing. If time wasn't a constraint, I'd love to spend the entire afternoon there. The water in the rooms is hot spring water, so it's okay if you can't soak in the hot springs.
