It's a wonderful blend of Japanese onsen culture – meticulous yet incredibly relaxing – allowing you to enjoy a hot spring experience without even leaving your room
Stayed at the Izu Marriott on my trip to Japan, and it was genuinely great. The breakfast had a wide variety of options, and you could even order à la carte
The room offered a direct view of Mount Fuji, and it was quite spacious. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, and the service was top-notch
The hotel is quite far from Shuzenji Station, but thankfully there's a shuttle bus available at platform 8 of the bus terminal
Once your food was ready, the server would bring it right to your table. The service was absolutely spot-on! (。´∀`)ノ🍴
The breakfast is just standard for a five-star hotel, nothing as impressive as what you'd find at a Japanese hotel

Definitely will revisit the place when i come back to nishiizu. Bus from shuzenji stops right infront of the hotel, traveling back to main town is convienient too
The in-room facilities are a bit old; even the doors are faded. However, the staff service is excellent, and the location is very convenient. The hot springs are also quite good
The dinner was very unique and special.
All the staff at the hotel were really friendly, theres a public onsen (indoor and rotenba) on lvl 2, and a lvl 6 rooftop footbath. Both days breakfast were delicious
We were truly moved by the staff's courteous and warm service, as well as their attentive attention to detail. Thank you again for your flexibility in accommodating our irregular request
We also requested a surprise cake, and they took his condition into consideration and served it with breakfast the next morning, which was a great help

The comforter was also fluffy, but it made me too hot, so I wish they had provided a thin blanket as well. The basic amenities were all there. I was impressed that they always provided lotion and milk
As there is no restaurant on-site at the inn, we walked a little ways to eat out, but most of the restaurants are open irregularly so it might have been better to make a reservation with meals included
There was a yukata and haori for indoor wear, but I wish they had also provided a jinbei. The toilet was equipped with a washlet that automatically flushes after use
The washroom/changing room had good hot and cold water pressure and was spacious, so it was nice. Meals at the inn are by reservation only
However, the toilet's hand basin was difficult to use because the water pressure was weak and I wish it had a little more force
Next time I stay, I would like to make a reservation with meals included

The view from the open-air bath in the room and the open-air bath in the room were both excellent and comfortable. I would love to hear from you again. Thank you for the wonderful extraordinary time (*^▽^*)
The spaciousness of the room and the comfort of the free-flowing open-air bath were all excellent. The meals were served in a quiet environment and the portions were just right, so I was very satisfied.
I stayed here in March for anniversary. The environment of this onsen hotel is soooo great. With water dispenser provided in room. Staff are able to speak English well and communication is not an issue
The staff even took us to and from the bus stop, and all the staff were very kind. The food I was looking forward to was delicious, and the tableware was also very nice, so I was very satisfied
The chopsticks I used for breakfast were very easy to use and were sold in the lobby, so I bought them as a souvenir. A private open-air bath with a bottle of milk and coffee milk
If I could ask for one thing, it would be helpful if you could confirm the timing of the last meal and dessert

Super delicious and nice dinner set scored more than 5 stars rating. The hotel had a quite nice sea view, english staffs.
The hotel room was spacious and had a sea view, but unfortunately the dinner menu was rather disappointing.
The environment is nice, clean, and hygienic. It's right by the sea, so you can go for a walk in the evening. There are quite a few people fishing on the pier
The service was excellent, and there was an open-air hot spring with a sea view. The sunset in Tobi was absolutely gorgeous.
Get the room with the personal onsen and make sure your reservation includes breakfast and dinner for the best experience. The staff is polite and helpful. Definitely hoping to visit again
Very nice hotel with beautiful sea views from the rooms. If you get a chance, get the room with the private onsen on the balcony which is amazing. The public onsen also has an outdoor area with a great view of the sea

The rice cooked with cherry shrimp at the end had a nice aroma and was very good. You can choose from three types of dried fish for breakfast, and you can also enjoy piping hot miso soup with spiny lobster
Service provided was top tier and the food spread was extremely delicious! The room was clean and the en suite onsen was definitely the cherry on top. Would 100% recommend staying at this place!
The whole place is amazing. The staff was friendly and the food is extraordinarily delicious and fresh. Highly recommend
Very good private onsen in the room. Nice sea view. Dinner is excellent.
Amazing experience in a small sea side town. The rooms were spacious and traditional and you sleep on tatamis. The onsen was clean and hot water came out 24/7. The breakfast and dinner was the highlight
At dusk, you can bathe in a hot spring bath with flowing water while looking out at the deep red sea. Dinner was luxurious and delicious, with spiny lobster, red sea bream, abalone grilled and funamori

It’s very easy to get a taxi from Izu Kogen and it was easy for us to order an uber in the evening for dinner if you don’t want to go full out for what the ryokan provides - so it’s friendly enough if you aren’t driving
We chose to have breakfast there and it was delightful - so many little dishes and all served in our room and we even dressed up in traditional attire for it, provided by the ryokan
The individual osen pools were so chill - could have sat there for hours! High recommend this place if you want a piece of real Japanese culture!
It's a little old, but the food and the open-air bath in the garden were great.
It's fun to go around the various types of baths at a hotel, but this time I was able to relax without stepping out of my room.
The staff is very friendly and they try to accommodate our food diet request.
Room is big and spacious and both osen is very comfortable.
We only stayed one night, but it was an incredible experience - everything from the caring service to the traditional style of room to the thoughtful osen setup! All five star! The staff spoke limited English but it was very smooth and easy to use translation software

We had a lovely 2-day winter stay here. A great, quiet place to relax. The rooms were nice, futon was comfortable, and it was very quiet at night for sleeping. The evening meal and breakfast was excellent
I loved the ambience of the place at night. There were 3 hot springs that you could use. Just check that nobody is using it, take the correct small wooden block, and sign your room number on the paper
The room is not big, Japanese style, but very clean. The best thing is the breakfast, dinner and banquet cuisine. Each dish is very delicate, attentive and delicious, exceeding expectations
There was an open air hot spring and two view baths on the second floor - spectacular view of Fuji! The hotel is close to the Yagisawa bus stop but the place is a bit remote
We enjoy walking, however, and took the opportunity to take one of the nature trails in the area near the coast - breathtaking views of the coastline and ocean on the walk
Amazing Family run Ryokan with great dinner and breakfast, wallet friendly too.

Fuji could be clearly seen across the sea, and I was impressed by the beautiful view. I spent a luxurious time enjoying the changing expressions of Mt. Fuji and the sea depending on the time of day
Everything was the best hospitality, and I was able to refresh both my body and mind. I would love to visit again in a different season
From outside it s a very simple hotel. Just arrived by car the staff were waiting for us. Room are incredible with private onsen ( more expensive room) with amazing view on Fuji ( if weather is good)
The kaiseki cuisine was also beautiful to look at, and each dish was carefully prepared, making it a memorable delicacy. I thoroughly enjoyed the delicate flavors made with local ingredients
Many years have passed, and now that we are through the COVID-19 pandemic, my husband asked me, "What kind of inn would you like to go to for your birthday this year?" I answered Shotokan
In addition, I was blessed with the opportunity to see the works of famous Japanese painters on display in the building, and I was very happy to be able to experience art unexpectedly

However, the young man at the front desk, who spoke excellent English, patiently helped us check it and arranged a room change, which ensured our stay and experience weren't negatively impacted
The room was very spacious, and the view was beautiful!
The staff were courteous and helpful throughout my stay, with special thanks to the female manager who went above and beyond to provide additional support (e. taxi booking to Numazu Metro station)
It was a great room, and we were lucky with the view - Fuji-san showed up. The hotel provided a free transfer service from the station. An interesting Japanese dinner in the kaiseki format.
I stayed at Awashima Hotel, located on an island, after arriving at Narita Airport on 17th Nov 25. The transfer took about three hours, but the journey was absolutely worth it

The facilities may feel a bit dated, but they're well-equipped with amenities like a large public bath (including an open-air bath), foot bath, washing machine, massage chair, and bar
The sea view from the room was nice, but don't be alarmed by all the bugs crawling on the windows at night
For dinner, I chose the "Seafood & Mountain Food Plan" and it was delicious. However, it was a bit disappointing that the room was not cleaned properly.
Although it's not in the heart of Numazu, its location along the beach makes it a great place for a quiet stroll. Nearby is Koyotei Memorial Park, so guests should definitely stop by

The hot spring bath on the sixth floor was absolutely amazing, and we even got to try out some cosplay, haha! Since the hotel is located on a mountain, they also offer a shuttle service to and from the station, which is a really nice touch
Our first experience staying at a traditional hotel was a success! The room with its own outdoor hot spring exceeded expectations. Dinner and breakfast were amazing and varied. The staff was polite and friendly.
I'd recommend staying one night, but not multiple days in a row
(You might be able to get the key a bit earlier depending on availability. ) The cost is about 1680 JPY, which is quite reasonable. Prices for additional drinks, meals, and SPA services are also within a sensible range
The hotel facilities are excellent and the service is great. The location is a bit out of the way, and the shuttle bus schedule is quite limited. Also, the nightly menu rotation is rather uninspired
Although there were multiple communications with the hotel regarding dining arrangements due to an issue with the intermediary agent, the overall performance of the hotel was truly delightful

There's a shuttle bus service from the station. The hotel is located on a hill, offering panoramic sea views. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The buffet dinner and breakfast are delicious
I visited with my family and took my 89-year-old mother, who has some mobility issues
They also secured a seat for us near the entrance, which was very helpful. We will definitely be returning
I thought the hospitality of the hotel staff was wonderful. Both staff members offered to take photos for me, and everyone greeted me with a smile at the buffet, so I was able to spend a very pleasant time
Hotel setup is modern with spacious room and western beds. There are several options for hot baths. Dinner and breakfast are both buffet style which offered great selections

Very good, very comfortable stay, high cost performance, great sea view, you can watch the sunrise, the room is very large, the front desk staff is very friendly, the service is very good, I will choose this hotel again in the future
Facilities: Complete
Hygiene: Clean and tidy
Environment: Very close to Ito Station
Service: Warm and thoughtful
Except for no dinner (maybe there were too few guests), other aspects such as accommodation (suitable for both breakfast and lunch), food (suitable for both breakfast and lunch), and bathing (you can bathe while gazing at the sea and daydreaming) are all satisfactory
The hotel is relatively old and a certain distance from the station entrance, but the service attitude is very warm. Social phobia is a bit uncomfortable 😂. The room was not facing the sea, but the side is also OK
The hot spring fee needs to be paid separately. The room with sea view The pool is on the second floor. In fact, the sea defense embankment is outside. If you stand higher, you can see people bathing
The hotel has an open-air public hot spring with sea views. Although the bathroom is old, it is very clean

This time, I joined a group tour specifically lured by the chance to stay here. ◆Room
View of the sea, slightly toward the road side. A Japanese-style room with tatami mats and a veranda, featuring futons
◆Hot Springs
The second and third floors alternate daily. Sea Turtle and the open-air bath are on the second floor; Shark and the semi-open-air bath are on the third floor
It featured the familiar solid fuel-cooked dishes and grilled items common at inns, along with sashimi, fried foods, and simmered dishes – mostly delicious seafood
Many fish were plump and well-fed, but the sea turtle especially was huge—bigger than any I've seen at aquariums, which was surprising
One kid said, "I thought it was a tank connected to the sea," but it isn't connected lol
A large tourist hotel retaining the atmosphere of the 1950s to 1960s, when group trips to hot spring resorts were popular. It enjoys considerable name recognition in the Tokai region, partly due to its commercials

It felt like everything we could have hoped for and more. Thank you to Bidur and the team at Fontaine Bleu for turning what started as a difficult situation into one of the most memorable and enjoyable stays of our trip

In fact, I had come to this hotel in February 2018, when the service of this hotel has been very good, and the food is also very tasty most importantly the seafood is excellent 👍 to today in February 2025 I am in the jungle this renovated hotel feels better, and the staff is more enthusiastic, regardless We wanted to go to that place they carefully told us every location and shift time 👍👍👍 Most importantly...
This was my first stay at this hot spring hotel, and it was a delightful surprise. The food and ambiance were top-notch, and there were 14 individual hot springs of varying sizes
We were happy with their thoughtfulness! And the main reason we chose this inn was the private open-air bath, which was really great to be able to relax while looking at the sea without worrying about being seen by others! We had looked at other inns because we wanted to try an infinity bath once, but we chose this one, which has a wide variety of options and a unique charm that you can use the open...
The service was excellent, the place was clean and tidy, and it faced the sea. The room was well-equipped, and the TV had Netflix
During my stay at Atami Ryokan, there was a fireworks display, and the hotel provided a shuttle bus directly to the fireworks show – it was absolutely wonderful

Beautiful onsen with private bath in the room and two bigger bath houses. Fantastic looking sea food, very fresh, but a bit plain for my palate. On the pricey side, too.
Uminohaha Ryokan is truly legit. The food was amazing, and the private room onsen offered stunning views. The driver went above and beyond, proactively contacting us when we were running late and coming to pick us up
I went there with my good friends. ・I am very happy with the wide variety of free drinks. ・I am happy to receive a cake upon arrival. ・There are many foreign employees, and they are generally friendly
(This ryokan is a type where you eat in your room)
・Women are lucky to get some kind of shampoo at the service. ・The voice of the handsome Japanese male employee is very similar to Kamaitachi Hamaya
・The bath has a nice view and feels good. (It is better to make a reservation for a private bath early, after arriving at the room, make a reservation with your own smartphone)
・Rice is delicious
However, your can also rent a much larger private onsen for no additional cost. The facility is traditional and beautiful. The staff was kind, friendly, and overwehlmingly helpful

Improvements would be to clean the appartment before arrival. There were many small flying ant looking insects in the bathroom. Since it is up a cliff, it is best to go up there by car or taxi

Izunohana was my first luxury hot spring inn, and I was completely satisfied! I'd love to return as a treat. [Room]
I stayed at Tsubaki on January 13th. It was a detached room, but it was new, clean, and comfortable
There are stairs to get to and from meals, so please be careful if you have weak legs. [Meals]
The variety of dishes lived up to the name "Cuisine Inn," and I was very satisfied with both the quantity and quality
The highlight, however, was the staff; they are an amazing, lovely team who made us feel so welcome. Also, the food is spectacular and definitely worthy of a Michelin star
Everything was delicious, so it's a bit difficult to choose, but I particularly liked the chawanmushi, Arima-ni, and splendid alfonsino shabu-shabu
We will definitely be returning for a two-week stay next time

Due to breastfeeding schedules, we weren't able to enjoy Izu's local specialties while traveling, so we were very happy to see seafood, wasabi, and other dishes prepared for dinner
The only thing you need to bring is powdered milk; they also prepared diapers after asking about your size in advance. The room, food, bath, facilities, and everything else about this inn were absolutely fantastic
We stayed overnight with our baby, who had just learned to hold his head up. When I first looked at the website, I was amazed at the wide range of amenities. It was especially helpful that they had a baby futon
We didn't go because of our baby's age, but there was also a kids' space, and I thought it would be fun for children old enough to play standing up
The cool morning air of the plateau, the sounds of the Japanese bush warblers, and the open-air bath with the view of the sunrise illuminating the sea were an exceptional experience
Seasonal ingredients were carefully prepared, and each dish was so delicious that we exclaimed, "Wow!" As I was pregnant, I was also impressed by the consideration given to my body, which I really appreciated

😋
The presentation of the portions was excellent and made for a memorable experience. The dried fish served at breakfast was also fun to choose from. 👍
It was a relaxing and relaxing stay, and I made many fond memories
The waitresses are dedicated to the rooms, carrying luggage and serving us until dinner. Because the guesthouse is small, we receive attentive service and a very satisfying stay
The room bath is spacious and semi-open-air, with a comfortable temperature. We bathed in it several times. The dinner food was also delicious. 😋
The whole braised golden-eyed snapper was delicious
This was my first time staying here, and it was as good as I expected. First of all, the view from the room was great, and the temperature of the open-air bath, which was fed directly from the source, was just right
The espresso coffee provided in the room was also delicious. However, since the view from the room was so good, I think it would have been better to have meals in the room rather than in a private room
(We checked in a little early at 2:15 PM. )
We started with a welcome drink of matcha green tea 🍵 and tea snacks. The welcome begins with a welcome drink of matcha green tea 🍵 and tea snacks

The food was careful curated and thought out, each course was delicious and featured seasonal items.
The onsen was also stunning with an indoor and outdoor area and all amenities needed.
Highly recommend this hotel
A bit out of the way for the usual travelers in Japan, but nice for those looking to be out of the hustle and bustle of tourist season.
Place was nice, onsen was slightly open air.
A high-value-for-money stay with no noticeable downsides. All rooms offer sea views and there are both indoor and outdoor hot springs
I'd definitely book there again next time. The breakfast was very filling and not expensive, but unfortunately, my dearest grandmother passed away at the time, so I wasn't in the mood to go out
One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had! The staff were so kind and thoughtful. The room was beautiful with a stunning view of the bay. Highly recommend getting there breakfast or dinner
The inn had a wide range of amenities, and the room had two hair dryers and two sinks, so as just two girls traveling with a friend, we were able to have a very comfortable stay

- If non Japanese speaking, don’t bother with some activities (fair since we’re in Japan, but they do get a lot of international guests so I don’t understand how they haven’t made it even just a bit more international friendly by now)
- Need to pay extra ~6000 yen to use the extra futons in the room
- Agree with a previous reviewer; no do not disturb signs provided so good luck if housekeeping rings the doorbell and your child is napping! For a kids geared hotel you’d think they’d have this sorted??
For around $800+ a night, this was unfortunately a bit disappointing
Cons:
- Amenities lacking (iron only provided on request and it took so long to heat up and in the end was so weak still could not iron denim). - Decent kid activities (though more geared for 4 and above)
Defeats the purpose of having a tatami room that can be closed off for child’s naps…
- “Spa tax” of 150 yen pp per night regardless of whether you use the spa. - Buffet became repetitive after 2 days
Going into town is not easy if you don’t have a car; even then parking in town would presumably be a nightmare. Shuttle bus service is nice but too inflexible and books out
- Hanabi (kaiseki) restaurant was nice but way too expensive again, 120,000 yen pp. - Parking lot was very difficult to get into if they assign you one of the side parks
