That was my first time in a traditional japanese-style hotel, so I was a bit lost at first.
I tried my best not to bother the owners with dumb questions but whenever I still had to, they were very kind and happy to help.
The neighborhood is super quiet, and everything is close by: the train station, city center with resturants and convenience store, the beautiful river, and the beach with its fishermen.
A peaceful stay in a peaceful city.

The owner is friendly, and the shared bathroom and washroom are clean.
There's also a small bathtub, perfect for relaxing.
It might not be easy to get to without a car, but the relaxing countryside scenery and stargazing at night are worth it.

This is a very traditional old-style Showa-era guesthouse. The owner speaks Chinese, so communication is no problem, and he's incredibly warm and friendly.
There's parking in the yard, but it's small, so you'll need to coordinate with other guests. If you don't mind, you can give the owner your key so he can help you park your car.
The rooms have sliding doors and tatami floors. The windows offer direct views of the mountains and the sea, and the sound of cicadas in the summer is very soothing.
The only downside is that I'm not used to sleeping on the floor; it made my back hurt.

This hotel deleted a booking account and made a new account, so you cannot see my review there.
Late check-in. Onsen water was too hot. The walls are thin and you can hear everything in the house from the room.
We arrived 1 hour earlier before check-in. It was strong rain.
The owner didn't suggest waiting in the lobby was unwelcoming to see us early. After waiting in the rain outside, we checked in.
Almost the whole time we stayed, he was sitting in the lobby on the sofa using his cellphone.
Next morning, checking out, I forgot the birthday cake with candles in the lobby refrigerator. Tried to contact the hotel by booking system and phone.
No answer.
When I arrived back at the hotel a few hours after checking out, no one was there. No answering calls.
Even next day no contact.

I used it around March 2021, but it is a very good and cheap inn. (I think it was less than 5,000 yen without meals via Booking.com when I stayed.)
It seems to be run by a Chinese couple, but they are very friendly and have a much better hospitality than Japanese-owned inns that are cross-legged in tourist spots.
You can see that by looking at the small potted plants outside the window and the care of the vegetation in the garden.
To be honest, everything is more like that of a good old Japanese than the current Japanese.
At such a good inn, I don't think the guests can take an embarrassing attitude.
I don't want Japanese customers who look down from above because they are Chinese owners to stay.
It is out of the question for Japanese people to get their rooms dirty and go home.
Such a person is embarrassed as the same Japanese, so please do not use it.
Such a very good inn. 👍👍

I am a student. I used it on my trip to Izu.
It was check-in after 21:00, but the guest house couple warmly welcomed me.
Since the room was a corner room, I was happy that the room was filled with sunlight in the morning.
The amount of hot water in the rock bath is the best.
The rooms are equipped with a kettle and TV, yukata, futon, towels and toothbrush.
There was one microwave in the common area.
Hair dryers are in the bathroom.
The price is cheap and I think it is the best inn near the station and the sea.
I still want to use it.

It was very clean and I liked it. The rice was also delicious! It was run by a Chinese couple and gave me a kind and gentle impression! It is a room meal. Infection control was also in place.

Both the owner and the landlady were very kind and helpful. And the measures against infectious diseases were perfect. I ate the meal in the evening and it was delicious. It happened that the guest took a leisurely bath in the rock bath, twice in the evening and once in the morning.
