Atagawa Heights in Higashiizu

The karaoke was advertised as 1 hour, but it was actually only 50 minutes.
The only amenities provided were a shower cap, toothbrush, and razor.
The tap water in the room was not potable, which made finding drinking water difficult. The free drink corner closed at 5 PM, so we had no choice but to rely on the vending machine. On top of that, ice cost 100 yen per serving.
In the morning, there was no hot water in the public bath. This facility is designed so that you have to pass the front desk to get to the public bath, but there was no explanation whatsoever when we passed the front desk in the morning. This hotel was far from providing hospitality.

We stayed in a room with a hot spring on the balcony for four people. The good thing about this hotel is that it is a beautiful building, which is quite impressive for an Itoen hotel. The view from the room was also very beautiful, with a view of the sea. Watching the sunrise while bathing in the hot spring on the balcony was particularly refreshing, and it was a different experience from the large public bath, which impressed my companions. The front desk staff at check-in were friendly and not mechanical. The large public bath was also surprisingly impressive, with the large and small baths at different temperatures. However, it was just that. Everyone looks forward to the food, but this was below expectations and disappointing. Dinner was a buffet, but there were fewer dishes compared to the Oedo Onsen group, and some of the dishes seemed to be pre-made dishes that had not been homemade and were just heated up. I didn't have high expectations because it was an Itoen hotel, but it was even worse than other Itoen hotels. For example, there were fewer varieties of sake than other hotels, which was disappointing. In particular, my companions were not impressed by the breakfast. There were many responses like this. For example, although it said "milk," the impression I got was clearly the flavor of processed milk, and the orange or fruit juice-like thing had very little sweetness and I had no idea what I was drinking. There were no locally cooked scrambled eggs or anything, just a pre-made omelette served at school lunch, which was even more disappointing than the previous night's dinner. If it was so bad that I felt sorry for my companions, there's no way I'd be buying it again. I think that obvious and excessive cost cutting is a loss for the company in terms of securing customers in the medium to long term.
