I visited The Kouragi during the snowy season. Nestled amid the silence of the snow, it was a wonderful inn that truly captured the spirit of Japanese winter. Walking through the silvery white scenery, time seemed to pass more slowly, and from the moment I arrived, my heart was filled with a sense of tranquility.

The inn's tranquil atmosphere, meticulously appointed, exudes Japanese beauty, making for a comfortable stay no matter where you are. And the crab dishes, the highlight of this trip, far exceeded my expectations. The sashimi was translucently sweet, the grilled crab fragrant, and the boiled crab tender. Each dish was exquisite, bringing out the full flavor of the ingredients.

The snowy scenery, quiet air, delicious food, and warm hospitality all combined to create a special time that filled both body and mind. I highly recommend The Kouragi to anyone looking to experience the Japanese winter or enjoy luxurious crab dishes.

I stayed at this inn, located in front of Shibayama Station, for two days and one night at the end of December, where I could enjoy crab dishes to my heart's content.
To sum up, I would definitely recommend this inn to crab lovers.
On the other hand, it may be a little disappointing for those looking for luxurious rooms and views.
Overall, it's perfect for those who value crab.

Dinner was a full course of raw crab, boiled crab, grilled crab, crab shabu-shabu, and crab hot pot.
All of the crab was tagged with snow crab from Shibayama Port, and the quality and quantity were impressive.
Every dish was delicious, but personally, I prefer boiled crab!
That said, the raw, grilled, and shabu-shabu crabs were all impressive.

Rooms are Japanese-style, with both bed and futon options available.
There is a large public bath with an open-air bath on the third floor, and the hot spring water is a little on the warm side.
If you don't like hot water, I recommend enjoying it in your room's bathtub.
There are also massage chairs on each floor, so you can relax after your hot spring bath.

The landlady's attention to detail is evident in even the smallest details, such as the room keys, the front desk, and the hallways,
and the inn has an overall calming, pleasant atmosphere.

It seems that you can enjoy seafood dishes from the Sea of Japan throughout the year, even outside of winter.
If you're looking for delicious crab, this is definitely an inn to stay at.

I chose this inn because I wanted to eat truly delicious crab, even if it was expensive.

I booked the monkfish plan with a gold tag and a special room, but the gold tag crabs were not caught on the day, so I was downgraded to second-batch crab. However, the taste and quantity were still more than satisfactory.

I later learned that the gold tag crab is only used for boiled crab, while the crab for hot pot and grilled is second-batch live crab. I visited without knowing this beforehand, so I was given an explanation during the meal.

The crab was very sweet, and I was able to enjoy the flavor of the ingredients themselves in all the dishes, whether hot pot, boiled, or grilled, without much ponzu sauce or other seasonings.

The side dishes were also elegantly seasoned and did not overpower the flavor of the crab, which was a great touch. Breakfast was also impressive, with each dish being lightly seasoned.

After dinner, I enjoyed whiskey and coffee while watching the carp in the lobby.

It was also fun to choose my favorite from the many Baccarat glasses lined up.

The large public bath is standard, but the semi-open-air bath in my room was very pleasant, and I was able to open the window and enjoy the cool air as I soaked. Because it's a hot spring, it doesn't cool down easily, so my body stayed warm for a long time.

The guest rooms give the impression of being an "all-in crab" inn rather than one that prioritizes luxury, and I think they're pretty standard for this price range.

The landlady was friendly and easy to talk to, and overall it was a comfortable stay.

I wish the rooms at least had showers.
Other than that, it's perfect. ✨

The crab is absolutely delicious. ❤️
It's by far the freshest in Kasumi. ✨
No matter how much crab sashimi you eat, you never get sick!
I've been to a few places, but "Koragi" is definitely the best. ❤️

I'm so, so satisfied! 😋

The artwork by artists displayed throughout the hotel is so cute and relaxing! 🧡

The only downside is that the baths are small compared to the number of rooms, and it's not a hot spring...
I recommend arriving early and bathing early.

The food is delicious, so I'd love to return, so I made a reservation! 📲 lol

It was a very pleasant and wonderful stay with the very kind landlady and employees! Not only the room but also the lobby and bath were clean and very nice. And the cheeks fell on the seafood dishes such as crabs and seaperch! Overall, I am grateful for the best hospitality!
