KOKO STAY Shimonoseki, Shimonoseki1 / 30
7.8
Shimonoseki, 3-11-2 Takezaki-machi 🧭 Map
I’m a simple man. Stayed 2 nights. No complaints. Rooms are small but it’s a business hotel so not surprised. Would recommend if you’re not going to just sit in your hotel the whole time.
The hotel is extremely close to Shimonoseki Station, which makes it very convenient for a quick transit stop. Located by the water, the area is relatively quiet, but unfortunately, there aren’t many attractions nearby. Dining options are quite limited—there’s a small “Busan Street” with a few Korean restaurants and some old izakayas, but not much else. It’s okay for a one-night stay, though I wish...
It was clean and functional. The staff are polite and helpful. I forgot my drink in the fridge and checked out, but it was kept properly. Thank you for your support.
It is convenient near the station. The rooms are not large, but the chairs have tires for easy movement, and the amenities are not disposable but environmentally friendly. Breakfast can be selected from Japanese set meal, porridge, rice ball set, etc. (at check-in) I felt that the staff were all polite.
Bedding bag quite old & some little stain on wall, but you can't expext too much as really low price

Shimonoseki, 6-7 Hananocho 🧭 Map
The hotel's location was good, but the rooms feel old. I stayed with breakfast included, so the breakfast was good.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
Very friendly and helpful check in staff. Breakfast was reasonable
OK hotel but very expensive for the quality: the equipment is old.
Although the facilities are old, they are good value for money and the rooms are spacious. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Shimonoseki Station, so it's great for walking around.
Been here for just one night and must say great deal for money and you'll get a nice and relaxing place to stay.. Staff were so accommodating. Two thumbs for that.

Kitakyushu, 1-2-1 Bashaku 🧭 Map
Great location and cozy facility. The riverview is amazing, and the price extremely competitively. Would recommend 100%.
Hotel is old but very clean. Room is large enough, breakfast is tasty. Service level of hotel staff is excellent, they serve guests in details, like help moving luggages to the room; we have difficulty to find our room after check-in, a staff escort us from lobby to the room, furthermore, he introduced every amenities in the room. The only drawback is the hotel is located a bit far from JR station...
Is good the hotel but is like all classic hotel with normal key
Just walk straight ahead from the railway to the hotel. There is a large bookstore and market next to it. It is also very convenient to go to Kokura Castle. Along the road there is the area surrounding Galaxy Railway 999, so you can take a stroll and take a look! I stayed in a Japanese-style room, and the mattress was ready as soon as I entered. I thought it would be hard to sleep on, but it was unexpectedly...
This is my second time staying here when visiting Kokura. The service attitude of the hotel staff is very good and the location and transportation are very convenient. You can reach the hotel directly through the overpass from Kokura Station without having to walk on the road outside, which is very convenient. The scenery outside the hotel room window is also very good. In the sea view room, I really...
It was a little far from the station and the weather was bad so I took a taxi. The view was nice and the front desk staff were very friendly. I'd like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

Toyoko Inn Kokura Station Minami, Kitakyushu1 / 30High rating
8.9
Kitakyushu, 3-14-6, Kyo-machi Kokurakita-ku 🧭 Map
Although it is a little far from the station, it is located on the street and is easy to find.
The room was small, and the bed was a bit small too. But it was enough, and the price was good. Compared to other Toyoko Inns, the location wasn't great; the convenience store was a block away. So I'd recommend the other two. I came here to watch the WTT game. The breakfast was very average… you can skip it if you have a choice. Eating this every day definitely won't make you fat.
I had a comfortable and relaxing stay. It was clean and convenient. The location was closer to Kokura Station than I expected. It was also an easy walk to Chachataen.
Standard Toyoko Inn. Normal room, breakfast, laundry machine, dryer, vending machine and so on. Nothing special but it is good.
The location is near JR Kokura Station. There are not many shops around. The twin room is quite large and has a bathtub. The buffet breakfast is good. The bustling area of Kokura Station is to the south.
The room was tiny; there wasn't even enough room to open a suitcase! Cleanliness needs improvement, as there was still a lot of hair left to clean! The refrigerator wasn't cooling properly! Slightly disappointing!

Kitakyushu, 2-10-2 Kurosaki, Yahatanishi Ward, 806-0021 Kita Kyusyu, Prefektura Fukuoka, Yaponiya 🧭 Map
I stayed here because they serve bread and curry for breakfast, and the staff were very polite and even lent me an umbrella if it rained. The room wasn't very large, but the bed was soft and they offered a parking discount, so I'd definitely stay here again.
I stayed here for two days over the New Year holidays. The atmosphere was fine, but the woman in her 30s with glasses at the front desk was unfriendly and rather arrogant on both days, which was disappointing, as she didn't behave like a hotel employee.
It's close to the station, so I think it's a convenient hotel. They offer free breakfast, including curry rice, bread, soft drinks, and coffee. It's enough for people who don't eat much in the morning. Even if you're staying alone, the semi-double room is spacious and comfortable. Smoking rooms are also available. The room rate is also average.
Very nice view , Nice room and arrangements , Beautiful ,large fully equipped rooms
Close to the south exit of Kurosaki Station. It is a reasonable business. I used it on the weekend, but it was fully booked. Facilities are old. If you just want to sleep, no problem. Also, like a hotel in Kyoto, an accommodation tax will be collected. A light meal is served in the morning. Good service. There are quite a few bars in front of the station. Of course, there is also a convenience store...
Short walk from Kurosaki Station It was a beautiful building and room. Accommodation fee is cheaper than Kokura The free (included price) breakfast had two kinds of curry and several kinds of cute-looking bread, and it was delicious! Drinks like coffee and orange juice? full from morning Thank you for your meal

I couldn't find this house a few years ago, and only learned about it in the last two years. It wasn't particularly eye-catching; it was a typical Japanese-style house. But after living there, I realized that only by staying in this kind of place can you truly appreciate the high quality of Japanese service. The restaurant there was especially delicious; their breakfast, lunch, and dinner were perfectly...
The hotel facilities are decent and very convenient, being close to the train station. Parking is convenient, though I believe there are only a few spaces available.
It's about a 1-kilometer walk from the station. Shopping and dining options are so-so. But it's very close to Kokura Castle.
It's close to the station, making it convenient for getting around. Shinsa Temple is also nearby, offering plenty to see and do. The staff were friendly, and the accommodations were very clean.
It's close to the station and has tourist attractions right in front of it, which is great, but it's a shame that there aren't many shops nearby and you have to go back to the station to find a convenience store. For breakfast, I walked to the arcade street and ate there. The hotel rooms were spacious and clean, with no problems.
It's a decent hotel. The only inconvenience is that the taps have separate hot and cold water.

Super Hotel Premier Shimonoseki, Shimonoseki1 / 18

Shimonoseki, 3-50 Hosoeshinmachi 🧭 Map
Highly recommend. Staffs are friendly. Really nice interior. Nothing to complain about with this budget.
Great service, and a great minigame by the hotel staff where they hid 10 pufferfish at the lobby area. Me and my friend spent a while finding and it is fun. Onsen is available, but do not expect too much of it.
It's nice that the bath is open from 3am to 9am the next day.
I could really feel that they put a lot of effort into the interior.
It’s so good so delicious 😊
The hotel is a small, traditional Japanese-style hotel. The toilet is an all-in-one unit. The space is very limited, making it unsuitable for family trips. It's more suitable for business travelers staying one or two nights.

Shimonoseki, 3-10-7, Takezaki-cho 🧭 Map
The Prince Hotel in Shimonoseki is right by the station, less than 5 minutes walk. To get there without steps was a slightly longer route but does exist. The area it is in is largely derelict businesses or sex work establishments so if that bothers you I would book elsewhere. The rooms itself was surprisingly spacious with good functionality and facilities. The bed was comfortable and while there...
The breakfast is simple but the overall environment is very clean. The price is too high during holidays and it is not worth it. There is a *** next to it and the conditions are a bit poor. If you are traveling with children, it may be a bit bad.
It's conveniently located near the station. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope they can improve the breakfast, which is only toast.
Free parking is available. There is a multi-storey car park just behind the hotel.
Much better than I thought. I thought it was a shabby little hotel, but I didn't expect it to be clean, sanitary and cheap. The front desk was very friendly and it is super close to the station. I spent two days here. Nearby is the Chunfan Tower where the Treaty of Shimonoseki was signed.
It was an old-fashioned business hotel, but the location was good. I would have appreciated it if the free breakfast had more items.

I had a day spa and lunch. Since it was Sunday, the large public bath was full. The open-air bath faced the sea, with no obstructions, giving it a sense of openness and comfort. For lunch, in addition to the menu listed on the website, they also had sukiyaki. I had the "Large Shrimp Fried Set Meal," and the tough head shells had been removed, making the shrimp incredibly tender and delicious. I ordered...
The room was spacious and clean, with a balcony and a view of the ocean from the window. There's also a coastal walking course right next to the hotel. The bath was also clean and relaxing. You can see the ocean from the open-air bath, and my kids loved going to the bath twice a day, in the morning and at night. There's also a small games corner near the bath, and whenever we stay here, my kids always...
"Kokumin Shukusha Marine Terrace Ashiya" is situated in a great location for viewing the scenic "Hibiki Sea". Although the facilities are a bit old, they have a lot of charm. The staff is polite and the traditional Japanese breakfast made from local ingredients was delicious, especially with the stunning view of the ”Hibiki Sea". The outdoor bath is also a nice way to enjoy and feel the fresh air...
I've read that the staff were rude and dirty, but it was the exact opposite. The service was very good, and no matter how quickly I rushed for work, I ended up arriving around 11pm. Since the hot springs only open until 11pm, they changed us to a room with a bath. The night shift staff member cleaned the bath by himself, and although he probably wanted to clean up quickly, they waited until we arrived...

Everyone was very polite, the food was delicious, and it was a really enjoyable trip 😊 The flower arrangements were beautiful and refreshing 😌 The service was also excellent, making it a memorable trip ✨ Thank you so much 🙇♂️
Great service, dinner is a little basic and onsen could be a little hotter.
We were also able to go to the baths at the Grand Hotel. There was a waterfall bath and an open-air bath, so we were able to relax in them. The food was also very delicious, and the service was also good.
Former Governor of Tokyo, Mr. Masuzoe, highly praised the hot springs It's a gushing hot spring ♨.It doesn't have a harsh sulfur scent, and the water just sticks to your skin. This is a quiet hot spring where you can faintly hear the sound of the river.
Generally speaking, it's not a very good location, but it was the perfect location for sightseeing in Akiyoshido and Tsunoshima Ohashi Bridge the next day. The hot springs are alkaline springs with a pH of 10, and when you touch your skin after soaking in the hot water, it feels silky smooth. The open-air bath also has a cascading bath. Although it is not a new facility, it was well kept and I was...

I was impressed by the staff's smart and attentive service. The food was fresh and delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed dinner while watching the night view. The room and shower room were spacious, so I was able to relax. There are no convenience stores or shops nearby, but the hotel is close to Yume Tower, so you can enjoy a different world.
The highlight of this hotel is undoubtedly the breathtaking view of the Kanmon Strait. From the restaurant, you can enjoy a panoramic vista of the Kanmon Bridge and the many large ships passing through the channel. The location is perfect for exploring Shimonoseki. The location is more suitable for those with cars. Although there is a bus stop at the intersection not far away, the frequency of buses is less. The hotel facilities are acceptable and the decoration is not very new, but there are no problems with hygiene and environment.
The central air conditioner is old and kept ringing in the middle of the night, waking me up. Location: Fifteen minutes from the pier.

Although the design of the hotel is relatively simple and old, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Used by a single person on a weekday for business. Located within walking distance of Shimonoseki Station. There are restaurants in the surrounding area, and a commercial complex in front of the station, making it convenient for dining and other needs. There is a parking lot next to the hotel, but it has limited space and requires advance reservations. The room layout is old, but it appears to have...
The location is excellent. To be honest, the facilities are a bit old. However, the value for money is excellent. I think it's a hotel worth staying at. Are the walls thin? Sometimes I can hear voices and snoring next door.
I stayed here on a solo trip during the three-day weekend in July. I arrived quite late because I caught the last train, but the front desk staff were kind and I felt at ease. The Showa-era atmosphere that can be felt from the exterior is also felt inside. The room also had a retro feel. It's enough if you're just staying for a night.
It was on the top floor, the fifth floor, and the view from the window was of Shimonoseki city and the sea. It was a single room, but it was quite spacious (probably it used to be a twin room) and the interior had a somewhat Showa-era feel to it. However, the bathroom had been renovated and was a beautiful unit bath. There was a humidifier, so I used it. It was a shame that there was no outlet for...
It's good to be close to the station. However, since the facility is old, it would be better if it was clean. The person at the counter took care of the laundry, so they were good at dealing with problems.
I was surprised to take advantage of the narrow location seen from the pedestrian bridge. It's an old hotel, but it's well maintained. I wish I could use the old-fashioned dining room on the 2nd floor. The front desk staff was enthusiastic about serving customers, although they no longer had the power to serve meals.

The room is tidy and clean. Good value with privacy. Free food 24 hrs with is incredibly amazing with such a price. Will come back again next time if I travel solo.
The overall service was very clean, and I was able to spend a relaxing time there. The balance of the space was excellent, with the staircase, comic book shelves, and tables all blending together to create a natural and stylish feel. The free drinks and food were simple, and the space felt friendly and welcoming. For those on motorcycle tours, there is also ample space for bike parking, which is great
The room is private and offers good privacy. The common areas, restrooms, and showers are very clean. Free meals are available 24 hours a day. The staff are very friendly. It offers good value for money. The only downside is that check-in is only available from 8 PM, which is a bit inconvenient.
This was an odd stay. My check-in was postponed until 20:00. No idea what happened, perhaps it was a misunderstanding? They do allow to keep baggage in the halway however. So it wasn't a problem. Just felt odd. The room isn't very comfortable, but it got the job done. I got my sleep. That being said, they offered free food and drinks all the time during stay. Overall it's both the best and the worst...
It's a bit of a walk from the station, but not so much that it's impossible to walk. There's no space to spread out the suitcase, but I was able to spread it out on the bed, so it was perfect for just sleeping. The best part was that udon, rice, bread, curry, and drinks were all free 24 hours a day!!
The room was cold, so I asked if there were any blankets, and they told me where they were, but no matter how many times I looked there were no blankets. I went back and forth between the first floor and basement, but there were none by the time I got back, so I spent the night freezing. I stayed at this hotel twice, at the end of the year and the beginning of the year, when I returned home to Kyushu from Kanagawa. I stayed there on my motorcycle, and the hotel has a covered parking lot, so I would especially recommend it for motorcyclists. There's a 7-Eleven just a short walk away, and there's a large selection of manga (magazines and comics) at the hotel reception, so you'll never...

It is quite far from JR Moji Port, a 15-minute walk. There is a 711 and a fast food restaurant that closes at 10 o'clock in the evening. Breakfast only costs 10 yuan extra, which is very good, but I have to go to the gateway market the next day, so I don't have it. The room is bigger than expected, the bathroom has a small bathtub, and the single bed can barely sleep two people. You can choose your...
You have to walk a little from the station, but it's quite close if you're driving.
Located in Kitakyushu City, this hotel was very flexible and comfortable. There were a lot of free things and announcements on how to get points. Usually, you have to pay for TV, but it was free! Information on how to get Jalan points, etc. Unfortunately, when I checked out, I found information on the availability of drinks, but I gave up on getting a drink. There were also many tourist spots nearby...
Great bed and surprised big washroom(compared to other Japanese hotel at this price). No view from guest room and lobby and a little far from station. But the Mejiko retro observation room beside the port only cost 300 so as a place for a rest it’s totally well worth.

The overall room was nice and clean! The bath area was especially comfortable. The welcome drink service was great, and it was also nice that we could go out like in a regular hotel. I'd like to stay here again.
I had a good experience with this hotel. Parking was a nice addition to other amenities. Breakfast was served to the room sharp at the arranged time. View from a room to a port/bay was nice.
It's very clean, and the waiting room is a space that doesn't feel like a love hotel. The rooms are clean and the hallways smell wonderful. The breakfast was also delicious. It's a place I'd like to come back to again.
We were visiting to watch the rugby at the Mikuni World Stadium and wanted somewhere to stay near by. This place was an absolute gem, incredible room, huge jet bath with TV, breakfast served in bed and the best part was the view from the balcony included the Mikuni World Stadium.
