Reviews
The building is old and a bit dated, but it was well-kept and even I, a bit of a germaphobe, didn't find it uncomfortable.
There weren't many outlets, so it was a bit of a hassle to use the hair dryer without a mirror nearby, but considering the price, I guess it's understandable.
The room was spacious, and both twin beds were large, which was nice. I also liked the low pillows.
The keys are the old-fashioned type that you have to leave them at the front desk, but it's not an issue since the front desk is open 24 hours a day. Leaving them at the front desk means you don't have to worry about losing them, so that's actually a good thing.
It's relatively close to the station, and there are restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance, so it's convenient.
More than anything, I was very impressed with the energetic and cheerful service provided by the young female staff.
I'll definitely use it again if I have the opportunity.
I was on a trip to Niigata, stayed here, and went to Sado Island the next morning.
I walked about 2km to Niigata Port, but chose this one because it was reasonably priced.
The refrigerator was broken, so it didn't get cold even when I turned it on. 😅 It's a bit of a shame not to be able to use the refrigerator in a hotel. The unit bath is quite small.
However, the Asahiyu public bath near the hotel is excellent, so I recommend it. 😉 There were plenty of places to eat nearby.
I had a set meal at Kamome Shokudo.
I was on the 9th floor, and I heard a loud knocking sound on the window just as I was about to fall asleep, which was a bit scary... The front desk was helpful and it's fairly close to Niigata Station, but the fact that the refrigerator didn't work was probably the biggest drawback. 😅
But when I went out, it said "Air Conditioning Off."
What are they talking about...?
Don't they have any philosophy of "Please enjoy your stay comfortably"?
Are they trying to appeal to customers by emphasizing their desire to reduce utility costs?
Are they making any effort to reduce labor costs?
If they had any sense of service or hospitality, wouldn't they avoid displaying such a blatant sign?
This was a surprise, as it's rare to find a hotel with four beds.
The alcohol vending machine is on the first floor.
There is no ice dispenser. You can't get ice at the reception either.
The hotel is old, but it's clean enough for average people who aren't particularly picky.
Unless you have a small car, you'll have to use the public parking lot across the street, not the hotel parking lot.
It's just a regular multi-story car park, and is not affiliated with the hotel.
Maximum 800 yen for 12 hours. Maximum 1,400 yen for 24 hours.
Another attractive feature is that it's close to the station.
There is a parking lot adjacent where you can park for 800 yen per night.
It is well-maintained and very clean.
A good hotel.
