I wish the amenities were a bit better
WiFi connection is poor. Location is far from Okayama station. It takes approx 20-30 minutes by walk.
lady manager is very kind and helpful. speaks fluent English.
Okayama City Hotel is decently cozy hotel where u can get good food and shop for items at a nearby Family Mart.
Very tidy, reasonably priced hotel with helpful staff and nice restaurant.Small bakery shop inside provides good pastries and drinks until midnight.
The rooms were okay, service was good. There is a bakery at the lobby :) Nearyby the nearest FamilyMart was about 5mins walk away. To the shopping area, you will have to walk quite a distance.

Nice location, good service! My request to have my suitcase stored for two more nights after checkout was granted right away! Great service which helped me travel light!
It's about a 10-minute walk from the JR station to the hotel. Follow the signs for Aeon, go through the underground shopping mall, and exit at the Ximen Pharmacy exit. Turn left and walk for about 2 minutes. Turn right at the zebra crossing, and you'll see the hotel. It's an established brand, but very clean, with large, renovated rooms! Very comfortable! The hotel staff are very polite!
Since my check-in time was late and the date was about to change, I called before heading out, but they said "Any time is fine" and I was very relieved because I was getting anxious about not being able to catch a taxi. The hotel lobby and rooms were very clean and nice. I had plans in the morning and didn't have time to go to the bakery attached to the hotel, so I hope to use their services again...
The room is quite bigger than I thought. Cleanliness and service are also excellent. Would recommend for solo traveller who finding for budget staying near Okayama station.
Used for business purposes. The first parking lot fills up quickly, but there is a third parking lot so a large number of cars can be parked. The rooms are also clean and good. There is no large public bath or hot spring, but the price is cheap so it is not a problem at all. I would like to use it again.
Nice place with spacious and clean, organised rooms. Strategic location with ramen shops, bakeries, and convenience stores located all around it.

Some of the facilities are a bit old, there is some weird smell from the room. The ventilation system is central air conditioning/ heater, the air conditioning may be a bit insufficient during hot days. Windows are available. However, there may be noises and people yelling from the bars nearby.
Good clean hotel very accessible.
They were happy to store my luggage for me before check-in. The room I checked into smelled very bad, so I tried running the air purifier at full power, but it didn't help. I spoke to the front desk and they quickly changed my room, which I was grateful for. However, the room also started to smell bad over time, but I was able to sleep by running the air purifier and spraying some deodorizing spray
Staff don’t understand English. What ever you request such as additional pillow , you need to self collect at counter. But the staff is friendly, helpful and cheerful. Gave a cheerful smile whenever they spoke to customers.
The size and configuration of the room definitely meet the needs, and the clean beds and bathroom are also great!
The room is of standard size, in good sanitary condition, with complete basic facilities. The location is quite convenient. Although it takes a few minutes to walk from Okayama Station, it is just a straight walk from the Okayama Castle exit and is also close to the tram station.

Okayama, 5-1 Heiwacho, Kita Ward (in the centre) 🧭 Map
The establishment is clean and conveniently located, approximately a ten-minute walk from Okayama Station, offering a wide array of dining and shopping options. Guests will find themselves with abundant choices. The room size is adequate, however, the check-in process lacks flexibility.
Nice hotel. Walking distance to JR station n AEON mall. Hotel parking 1000yen per day just beside. Acceptable room size.
The hotel's location is excellent; it's an easy walk with no obstacles along the way. Plus, there's a drugstore right downstairs, which is very convenient.
Its a rather atandard 3-4 star business hotel. What stood out was that the front desk went out of way to make my 2 young girls aged 6 and 8 feel entertained by taking out their robot mascot for them to play with during check in. Facilities are, as expected, quite scant. But rooms are comfortable and things inside work, though a bit worn - this suits us a family of 4 just fine.
I booked the cheapest "random room type" and arrived a little past 2 PM, just before check-in. They kindly gave me a super spacious king room with a balcony ahead of time! It's very close to the station, about a 5-minute walk. Across the street from the hotel, on the second floor, there's an izakaya with delicious fried chicken wings! However, if you're uncomfortable with a mirror facing the bed...
Love this hotel! Location is just far enough from the station and the madness but still close enough for a short walk. The rooms are spacious, pharmacy/mini mart open late downstairs, and the lovely Koraku scent that fills the lobby is wonderful. My favorite place to stay if it’s available.

Super convenient. Near to family Mart, there's a washing machine, breads served in the morning and steam buns morning and evening, popsicle sticks and drinks throughout the day. Near the station and convenient to make it your base for visiting around Okayama outskirts on day trips
Hotels in Japan are expensive on Saturdays, so I was just going to an internet cafe, but then a special sale came up, so I made a same-day reservation and stayed there. It was convenient! It's a 9-minute walk from Okayama Station, and best of all, they give you a warm nikuman (meat bun) in the morning, and you can take as much bread as you want, so I ate a lot and left early in the morning. The ice...
This hotel is absolutely fantastic! Not only is the environment clean and bright, but the staff are also incredibly friendly. More importantly, they've been running a hotel business for nearly 150 years, operating with genuine dedication to serving their customers. You can enjoy complimentary drinks and popsicles all day, and for just 100 yen you can get a delicious omelet rice dish or a large portion...
Although I checked in late at night, the front desk staff were very courteous and made my stay comfortable. It's about a 10-minute walk from the east exit of Okayama Station. There was a cute orange Myra stuffed toy on display in the lobby. There was a picture of Myra next to the bed in my room, and even the cups and toothbrushes were Myra designs—I love cute things, so it was very comforting. The...
It's great! You can buy lots of food at the front desk, like pasta and omelet rice for 100 yen. Although it was built a long time ago, it's very well maintained. You can do laundry on the first floor, and it's within walking distance of Okayama Station.
Family travel, the room is spacious for a few hundred dollars a night in Japan Good soundproofing, clean and tidy, the facilities are a little old, but it doesn't hinder usability About 500 meters walk from Okayama Station The road is flat, it's convenient to carry a suitcase, the distance is acceptable Breakfast is a variety of breads, unlimited supply There is also simple coffee and oolong tea Because...

Location is good, near the train station. Service was okay, no bottle water in the room and the breakfast was catered to kids more than adults
Good location. Supermarket at basement and restaurant at Level 1. A short walk from the station. Facilities in the hotel is superb, Onsen, water dispensers, free drinks (Alochols too) in the evening everyday and morning coffee and tea available. I have booked this hotel several times and it always provides good service.
Location: Excellent! It's super convenient – just exit the west gate of the train station, cross the road, and go through a passage. There are tons of food options nearby; a bustling snack street is right across the road. Shopping is incredibly convenient too, not to mention the mall attached to the station itself. Great facilities, neat and tidy, plus amazing customer service!
I had a pleasant 1-night stay at Hotel Abest Grande Okayama. The location was convenient, and the hotel was clean and comfortable. There's a large Aeon shopping mall next door, which is convenient. The bathroom is very small, so larger people might find it cramped. The mattress is firm. The breakfast menu is the same every day.
Great location, literally 30seconds away from Aeon Mall Okayama and the surrounding area also has lots of other shops and restaurants, not to mention it is also only 10minutes away from Okayama station
The location of the hotel is amazing as, 10min away from the JR station, you can wheel the luggage through Aeon Mall. The service is absolutely amazing and provides different types of amenities in the front desk for you to choose.
When I arrived at night, there was an Aeon Mall nearby, which met my needs; I liked the welcome drinks after drinking coffee and reading the hotel rules every day. The room was clean and hygienic
The hotel is very close to Okayama Station. There is an AEON supermarket next to it. Donki and Takashimaya are across the street. Right within the station living circle. The downside is that it is an older hotel. No renovations.
When I came back from going out around 10pm, the temperature in the room was so high that it felt like the heater was on. I thought I couldn't sleep like this, so I called the front desk. They came to check on me right away and suggested changing my room, which was very helpful. Thank you very much😊

Very clean, nicely decorated, good value, and a great location.

I've been to Japan over 20 times, and this is my first stay at a Smile series hotel – I'm really impressed! The room was genuinely spacious and comfortable for Japanese standards. The lobby is on the second floor and has a very charming and well-designed layout. The staff were also super friendly. I highly recommend it! Okayama is also a quiet and charming city.

The front desk staff were very kind, and although the hotel looked old, it seemed very clean. The location is very good, so I will definitely use it again.
The front desk service is quite considerate! The hotel facilities are a bit old, it is close to the main road, the noise of traffic outside is quite loud, and the sound insulation is not ideal. It is a certain distance from the station. The hotel has a parking lot, and the fee is a little higher than the surrounding area.
Nice and comfortable room however my room had building construction directly outside the window. I struggled to get sleep past 9am even though I was jet-lagged, also it was so loud I was nervous the people would be coming in through my balcony door! Good location, would stay again if it weren’t for the construction on the hotel
Very cost-effective, there is a large aeon mall nearby with free buffet breakfast, free parking, and a daily beer during happy hour. The room has many facilities, including a microwave and washing machine, and the room is also quite large. Slept very comfortably.
It's hard to describe... 1. The facilities are old. In addition to the two sockets on the table, there is one at the door of the toilet, and the main point is that you forget to take it away. They sell everything under the concept of environmental protection, water is 100, various vending machines, and toothbrushes and toothpaste are taken downstairs. 2. The bathroom bar is definitely cleaner than...
Last minute reservation due to my train arriving late in the evening. Hotel is fine, dated and not renovated but clean and decently managed. A 15 min a walk from Okayama station in a nice part of town. Breakfast was very good, they also have a daily happy hour that provides free beer!

This was the second time I stayed in APA HOTEL Okayama Station, and it has been a pleasant stay both times. 🫲 Service is up to par to what you'd expect in Japan. Kind and attentive to detail. I've never had a bad experience. 🛏️ The rooms itself are rather small, especially if you're used to North American hotel rooms. Service was great, very polite, and helpful. Housekeeping is being done every day at your request. Coin laundry is very clean and up to date.
My stay at APA HOTEL Okayama Station was impressive. Situated just 10 minutes from Okayama station, it offers excellent value for money. It seems the rooms were recently upgraded with a huge screen mirror at the wash room, a second screen in the bathroom, and a third smart TV. IF the first floor doesn’t smell cigarette, I’ll give it a give-star rating.
This hotel was an amazing surprise. Even though it’s listed as “Adults Only”, the place has nothing “kinky” or unusual about it —just a clean, spacious, and incredibly comfortable stay. It ended up being the best hotel of my entire trip in Japan. The room was spotless and huge, with a great bathroom, a jacuzzi tub, and multiple TVs —including one facing the tub and another built into the bathroom...

Convenient location! I got a tatami room and it was very comfortable.
Really nice and clean. A bit far from the station. But alls good!!
It's very close to Tianmanwu; I was just a short walk from there to see a performance.
The room wasn't large, but there was enough space to unfold my luggage. It's a bit far from Okayama Station, but very close to the post office where you can take the streetcar. It's also very close to the Tenmaya shopping district, perfect for shopping. I highly recommend the nearby supermarket; a bunch of Shine Muscat grapes is only 780 yen – cheap and delicious!
The hotel is conveniently located, within walking distance of the shopping street and Okayama Castle Park.
It has a nice homey feel. The building is old, but there are no problems with the functionality of the rooms. Check-out is at 11am, so you can relax. I stayed for 10 consecutive nights for an average of 7,000 yen per night, which is rare these days. It's good value for money. I'll definitely use it again next time.

They gave me a room with a view of Okayama Castle on the top floor. The room was not small, and I was able to spread out my 24-inch suitcase. Since the facility is old...
Not very satisfied. Its main advantage is its proximity to Okayama Castle. The breakfast was okay. The room was old, with no other amenities, and no parking. You have to park in a small alley first.
The facilities are a little old and there are some areas that look a bit discolored, but the rooms and beds are clean and there are no issues. I think the price is a good balance. The area is quiet, so you'll have to move around a bit to find a restaurant.
This hotel boasts a superb location, within walking distance of Korakuen Garden and Okayama Castle, with rooms even offering direct city views. While the facilities are somewhat dated, they are well-equipped, providing a variety of shampoos and streaming TVs. The 12 PM check-out time and the underground passage directly connecting to the tram station are highly recommended; its functionality is unparalleled...
Nice hotel, fairly large rooms, and a beautiful view of the castle from the window.
The location is great, very close to the amusement park. The service was also quite good. The facilities are too old; the carpets in the elevators and hallways looked a bit dirty and sticky. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for value for money! It's a little far from Okayama Station, but I think it's within a 10-minute tram ride and a 20-minute walk. It's cheap, includes a breakfast buffet and dinner, and the large public bath was also very satisfying. The elevator was old and a little scary.
I used this facility after sightseeing in Korakuen and Okayama Castle. The location was good, the prices were reasonable, and the bathtub was spacious and relaxing. The food was buffet style, which was nice. It was a little disappointing that there was no milk. As it was my first time using this facility, I was unsure about using the parking lot. Overall, it was good and I will use it again.
The tram stop is right in front of the hotel. Although the hotel looks a bit old, it is clean and hygienic. The facilities are complete, and there is a large public bath that is very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are included, and the salad bar and beverage bar are unlimited. There are both Western and Japanese breakfast options, which can be enjoyed at the same time. The price is very reasonable
The rooms aren't big, but they're enough for a comfortable stay, and they're very close to tourist attractions. It's really cheap for a meal and lodging package. Many Japanese business travelers stay here too; it's always packed during mealtimes.

The equipment is good. The hotel is located next to the river, but there are no street lamps at night, so you will need a flashlight if you walk along the riverside.
Staff was nice and friendly but the room was far below the modest expectations we had. What they advertised as a double room is actually a single room with 2 pillows
The hotel's location required a bus or taxi ride from the station. The exterior, interior, and rooms seemed frozen in time 50 years ago. The hotel wasn't very clean; it was quite dirty and messy, with stains on the walls. There was a smell of smoke in the lobby, and the room had an odor. The bed was also rather narrow. The good thing is that it's close to the train station and opposite Aeon Mall, making shopping convenient.
The restaurant is located directly opposite Aeon Mall, making it convenient for dining and daily grocery shopping. It's within walking distance and highly recommended for tourists visiting the Sanyo and San'in regions.

The local area is remote and barren
The dust is quite thick, especially around the entrance; the thick layer of dust is astonishing. The kettle is extremely dirty and disgusting. Think carefully before ordering.
The location was great, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The only downside was the poor cleaning. Wherever you go in Japan, cleaning is always spotless, but that's the only drawback here. Anyway, the location is a big plus. The refrigerator is a bit small, though. It's convenient for buying food and drinks, which is nice.
It was spacious enough for a family trip. It also had a kitchen, so it was convenient to be able to take food home and cook.
The check-in and check-out are fully automated. The triple room has one double bed and two single beds, with a separate toilet and bathroom. The space is good. It's a 10-minute walk from the train station, across the shopping street. There are many restaurants nearby, as well as large Ieon and Donki supermarkets, making it very convenient for supplies.
The triple-bedded room was rare, so we were able to relax with our elementary and middle school children. The kitchen was fully equipped with plates, chopsticks, and other kitchen facilities, so we had no trouble eating in the room.

Stayed 2 nights, clean and cosy, provided simple breakfast, close to train station, convenience store and restaurants are nearby, 10 mins walk to Aeon mall. Recommended.
Chain hotel in a great location, offering all guests a free breakfast. The hotel is steps away from the Okayama station west exit and easily accessed from the elevated, covered walkway. Booked a single room, was lucky to be on a high floor overlooking Okayama train station.
