Beautiful accommodation and cafe/bar, well worth the walk up the steps with a heavy backpack! The staff are so friendly. Really lovely rooms, delicious draft beer and fantastic views. Thanks for having us!

The view from the hotel is amazing, but the rooms are small, and cold. There are no food options at night so you have to walk down and back up many steps to get to the hotel.

The experience was exceptionally good and unique! The scenery was stunning! The room had a very traditional Japanese feel.
I recommend wearing earplugs to sleep, as the soundproofing isn't great, but overall, this accommodation is very special! The café downstairs is also very nice. Highly recommended!

The view is, well everyone's mentioned it already.
I loved that guests could use the cafe area as a shared space, great for winding down from all the exploring. The hot lemonade was excellent. Honestly could just stay there for a day and not feel guilty about "staying in".

Booked 2 nights. First, I want to say that after reading a lot of the negative comments about the staff - they are NOT bad or unfriendly! If you want service or people bowing to you, go Tokyo or Kyoto. You are in Onomichi, and this is an very hold and historic guest house.
The building is unique, the coffee is great, the tatami rooms and futons are comfortable. And....omg the view!

Although there are many flights of stairs and ramps to climb, the hotel has a great view. The shower and toilet are separate but shared. It's recommended to check in before evening.

Right at the entrance of Senkoji Temple, the place is steeped in history and elegance. Sipping coffee, listening to jazz, and gazing at the view of Onomichi Port outside the window, the atmosphere is perfect. Since the hotel is located on a mountain, there are bound to be some insects, which is unavoidable.

Perfect location if you want a good view. Nice service (options for laundry and cafe with snacks, breakfast and drinks). Walls are thin, all noise can be heard. Would not stay for many days
