Harimayabashi Guesthouse in Kochi

The worst place I've ever stayed in Japan, and I have stayed in many 'cheap' places before.
Let's start strong: there are cockroaches right in the dining room/kitchen of this apartment!
And yes, I did say apartment. This is not a hotel, or a hostel, or even worthy of being called a guesthouse. This is someone's random apartment, with 8 beds stacked on each other in what's supposed to be the bedroom. That's it. There's nothing else that differentiates this from someone's apartment.
There is no staff whatsoever, in my case just some old Taiwanese ladies, one of whom had to sleep in the living room's blankets because she couldn't easily access her bed.
The phone number written on Agoda is NOT IN SERVICE. The one listed here on Google does NOT answer. They NEVER reply to messages on Agoda either, so there's exactly 0 way to contact whoever's running this thing. No information on any parking options nearby because the link they send gets blocked by Agoda.
To enter, you take your shoes off in the street (yes, in the street) before climbing the stairs leading to the front door, have to figure out how the box with the key opens, and end up in this apartment where every single amenity is paid, with huge printed PayPay QR codes right next to each one of them. A camera in the dining room seems to be watching you, which is slightly creepy given that there's no one you can reach and that there's not really an area to change your clothes except a curtain in front of the washing machine, all in the camera's vision field.
The beds are small and uncomfortable, and they smell musty, the little ladder leading to the top ones is weirdly off center and very hurtful to use.
The only good thing is that it is directly next to a shopping arcade.
I wouldn't stay there again even if I got paid to.
