The hotel's location is excellent, with rooms offering views of Mount Tengu and Otaru Station. They also provide a complimentary set menu dinner in the evenings. Funami-zaka Slope and the Sankaku Market are conveniently located just a short walk downstairs.

Right outside Otaru Station, this hotel has an excellent location. Across the street, you'll find a Don Quijote and a supermarket, and there's a LeTAO shop on the ground floor. The hotel itself is a bit old, but the facilities seem to have been renovated and have a very distinct Japanese style. Great location, just opposite the JR station. It’s just 2 mins walk to Sankaku Market. About 10mins walk to canal. If you have luggage and do not wanna drag around especially during winter, this is a great option. Room size is small but quite standard in Japan. Onsen is good and has a pin to enter for female. Breakfast is pretty good.

Hotel location is convenience. It’s just opposite the Otaru JR station. Walking distance to most of the attractions. The breakfast buffet also provide wide variety of options, can customise our own sashimi bowl. But the breakfast location is not very big so need to go early to avoid congestion.

The hotel is quite dated. Can see that the decor, furniture etc are all probably seen decades of use. Regardless, the location was great - just outside the train station. I can leave my luggage immediately and go sightseeing. Breakfast too was great. The eggs were so good. Finally, there’s natural hot springs too that was amazing after a tiring day.

I didn't pay close attention to the room name when I booked, assuming it was a private hotel room. Following the navigation on Ctrip leads to the correct building, but Google Maps directs you to the annex, which is a five to six-minute walk away. The annex doesn't have a front desk; check-in is done via self-service machines. In the main building, Indian staff are available to assist with machine check-in. The hotel is conveniently located, just a three to five-minute walk from JR Station and Otaru...

The main building for check-in is really close to JR station. Just exit, go straight, turn left after you see Lawson, and then another left at the intersection. It's about 400 meters. The hotel is spread out in several areas. After check-in, the staff told us our villa was another 10-minute walk away. Luckily, there's a shuttle service both ways. It meant we were quite a distance from the onsen, but...

There's a delicious soup curry restaurant right downstairs in the main building, but if your room happens to be directly above the kitchen, it can get quite smelly. The location is very convenient for transportation, being close to the JR station.

The location is great, but the hotel is a bit old and dusty in many areas. What's more, the hotel accommodation and the reception are in separate buildings, and so are the hot springs. It's three units across three buildings. To go to the hot springs, you have to get fully dressed and cross the road. After soaking, you can't just walk back to your room in your yukata; you have to put on heavy clothes...

Well-equipped facilities, and the hot springs are absolutely fantastic.

very big and nice hotel, near the asari ski resort, onsen is good too, there’s also a bar that provides free drinks

It’s a wow wow wow!!! Close to ski resort. Great breakfast and shuttle service back to Otaru town.

No elevator at my room. Need to manual lift luggage to basement floor. Dinner and breakfast are normal.

Very nice hotel with good view and good facilities. The meals included are also very nice.

The hotel was great. They accommodating all our needs. The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast buffet was delightful! The photos are right out our window. There is literally a resort across the street. The onsen was clean and relaxing. Parking available.

The location in here was very convenient with cheap price. The host was friendly and it was suitable for people to have a short stay for travelling in Otaru for 1 night.

I stayed there 3 times and wifi never worked. I asked the front desk and they said it was broken. Anyway location and service is okay. Pretty close to the station

The place is nice and well located near the Main Street and a couple blocks away from the station but the internet connection is not good at all, I stayed on the second floor and there was no internet I needed to get connected to the 3rd floor wifi and it was super bad quality.

Amazing traditional ryokan run by a lovely couple who are very helpful. Great location close to the canal and train station. The breakfast is incredible and worth the experience on its own.

The traditional Japanese breakfast prepared by the host is superb. The place is very clean and tidy. The free covered car park is perfect so no need to remove the snow before driving. Just the WiFi is too weak.

One of the best authentic japanese bed & breakfast experience. Owners live on site, facility is extremely clean. Not the fancy modern decor, but you have everything you need here! Reminds me of St.Regis

Please upload updated photos of the renovations! The breakfast was clean and prepared with care, but the communal hot spring on the first floor is too small, barely fitting more than two people. You have to wait in line. I was really disappointed, especially after seeing the pictures and expecting a traditional ryokan.

Good location, near the train station. Also, very traditional and very hospitable. I enjoyed their amenities, especially the bathtub, and it is somewhere I will definitely stay again if when I go to Sapporo! Also, easy to get to, and very understanding hosts!

I had an amazing time at this hotel. You will need to take 15 minutes taxi ride to reach here from Otaru station. It's right by the beach. Room is super spacious and comforting. There's kitchen and dining area. It was snowing so the balcony is filled with snow but the view is just so amazing. The staffs are very helpful. You can check in early with a small fee. Breakfast was simple. Complete amenities

Their Wi-Fi worked for maybe 5 minutes, and was extremely slow. I had to buy data from my phone and hotspot it to work, costing me much more money. I was so frustrated because this is so basic and they couldn't get that right. The workers were great but I'm still never coming back.

Very good, nice people, great view, nice room! It is recommended to book two nights to relax! The most amazing thing is opening the balcony door! From that moment on, you feel that taking a taxi is really worth it.

The location is a bit remote, but the view is great, the hardware is also very good, and the breakfast is very exquisite

Beautiful and newly renovated hotel and restaurant right next to the sea located in a small town 15 mins from Otaru. Easy with bus or taxi from Otaru station. Exceptional views from the room and restaurant. We had dinner and breakfast and all was excellent and made with local products. Nice and friendly host.

I stayed for two nights during my trip, but the room was spacious, and the amenities such as the kitchen and washer/dryer were excellent. I wished I could have stayed longer. It's an unmanned hotel, and the key is accessed via a code, so there's no risk of losing it, which is reassuring. It seems suitable for families as well as groups.

We used this hotel as a family! The room was spacious and clean, making for a wonderful trip! We will definitely use it again♪

very nice location, close to otaru main street and the canal. close to the station. secure building with passcode for entry and room. plenty of room for a group of 6-8 people for 1 night. if staying longer, it's more suitable for group of 4-6. we stayed 1

I really love this winkel village! It's just a short walk to Asarigawaonsen Ski Resort for skiing. We can enjoy BBQs even in winter and the private outdoor onsen right outside the room is a huge bonus for my family. Definitely planning to return! Great value for the money. Note: We took a taxi from Otaru Station to Winkel Village and it cost around 5,000 yen. The price was reasonable too.

This is the first time we tried the Onsen in Japan. I was surprised that my girl loves it. The crew will come to replace the Onsen water everyday. The location is good for ski lovers too.

Beautiful accommodation, very nice owners

Although it is an old building, the bathroom has been renovated and is new and clean. The downside is that it is a little inconvenient to access and the room key is optional, but it is cheap so it may be worth the price.

The hotel has a strong fragrance smell, so it may not be suitable for people with sensitive skin. The Wi-Fi was unstable and I couldn't connect to the internet.

Other places raised their prices dramatically over the weekend, but this place had similar prices on weekdays and holidays, around 2650 yen. However, it's located halfway up a hill, so it can be tiring for people with suitcases or heavy luggage. A very good accommodation experience. The hostel was clean and quiet, and I slept soundly last night. It was also very convenient for getting around; I didn't feel it was far at all, even though I walked from the JR station.
