Although it is an old building, the bathroom has been renovated and is new and clean. The downside is that it is a little inconvenient to access and the room key is optional, but it is cheap so it may be worth the price.

The hotel has a strong fragrance smell, so it may not be suitable for people with sensitive skin. The Wi-Fi was unstable and I couldn't connect to the internet.

Other places raised their prices dramatically over the weekend, but this place had similar prices on weekdays and holidays, around 2650 yen. However, it's located halfway up a hill, so it can be tiring for people with suitcases or heavy luggage. It has Japanese-style tatami rooms, and the doors to the two rooms are very thin, offering virtually no soundproofing. The kitchen is fully equipped 👍, suitable for those who want to cook local ingredients. I only had one night and didn't have time to cook, just heated up supermarket food. Lights out is at 11 PM, which is good because you can go to bed early for better health, but the downside is that you don't have time to shower because there's only one shower room! There are separate toilets for men and women. I was woken up by the sunlight around 5 AM because the Japanese-style room had no curtains, and I could hear the man next door snoring, making it impossible to fall back asleep 🥲.

The female staff were quite friendly. Regarding luggage storage, it's possible before check-in, but not after check-out. (For others' reference, some places allow luggage storage until 4 PM after check-out.)

The Japanese-style one-family house is located in a very remote location. The room I stayed in was Japanese-style. I was initially told that there was a male in the same dormitory, which I was not satisfied with. As a result, that person didn't come, so I stayed in a room by myself, which was fine. But the sound insulation is very poor, the old man in the next room can hear it. It was very noisy at night when the waiters were cleaning or decorating the house outside, in the middle of the night. The environment of the house is pretty good, you can cook and there is a refrigerator

The cheapest place to stay in the area, walking distance from the Otaru station. Common areas were clean and looked after.
