Kyoto, 91, Okazakienkatsuji (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Our family stayed for three nights. We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay thanks to the meticulous cleaning of every corner of the room, hallways, large public bath, individual bathrooms, toilets, windows, and window sills. Although the building itself seemed a bit old, the fact that it was so well-cleaned and maintained left a great impression. We also ordered the Japanese breakfast, and the...
Although it was just a short stay, the staff carried my luggage to the room for me. I really appreciated that!
I stayed here to attend an event at Miyako Messe.
Aside from the fact that you could only access the upper floors by stairs and the toilet area in the unit bath was small, the room was clean and the service was excellent.
Since I was attending a concert at the ROHM Theatre Kyoto, I found this hotel within walking distance!
The hotel staff were very friendly and even carried my luggage to my room.
It was also great to be able to sightsee in places like ****☺️
It was easy to stay near the tourist spots, and there was a large public bath so I was able to relax. I should have noticed from the photos, but there was no elevator and only stairs, so I thought it might be difficult for people with a lot of luggage or elderly people.
The location is super good, opposite ****, a five-minute walk.
The grandpa at the front desk can speak English and his attitude is very good.
The room is clean and tidy, very quiet.
You can store your luggage for free.
Recommend everyone to come!

Kyoto, 210-4 Nakano-cho Higashiyama-ku (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
It is the beatiful part of Kyoto: two steps from temples and mountains, and the key touristic central parts are also in 15-20 minutes. The room was so beatiful, combining contemporary things with materiality of things in the room.
The location is quite far from any nearest metro or subway so you have to walk a lot. But the service is good, there is no lift available but the hotel wait for us and took our bag into second floor, which we really appreciated. The room is hugeee! And amenities is good as well. We have pyjamas set and it was so nice and comfy!
On the first day of my stay, I didn't know how to use the air conditioner, so a staff member came over and kindly helped me.
The shower had good hot water and there was a bathtub so I could relax.
The value for money was good, it was clean, and I had a comfortable stay. I would like to use it again.
It would have been nice if there was an elevator.
It was clean, well located, and a great hotel for solo travelers.
Great location, stylish interior, and attention to detail. The room even included pajamas, which was especially helpful in late November.
Spacious, well-equipped, and modern room! The hotel is well-located. The staff was very helpful (they stored our luggage and carried it up to our room before check-in). I recommend it.

We chose a room with breakfast. It was cozy and clean. The linens and bath amenities were ample. There was a hair dryer, a straightening iron, and a curling iron. Creams, shampoos, and face masks were also provided! The breakfast was excellent, European-style, and very tasty. The two friendly girls at reception were very attentive to our needs. A good hotel.
I booked a hotel for myself and my 14-year-old daughter. Oddly enough, the reservation was confirmed.
Of course, it's also my fault for not carefully reading the hotel's details.
Overall, the hotel is a typical hotel, except for the ******** in the room and the 18+ paid content on the TV.
Check-in was smooth. The rooms are cleaned, but they don't mop the floors or dust.

The room was clean and I had no problems during my stay.
All the necessary amenities were provided, making for a comfortable stay.
I would like to use this hotel again if I have the opportunity.
I used this hotel for a business trip. I had booked it expecting a regular business hotel, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a good place to stay. I appreciated the various amenities provided, such as bath salts and a hairdryer.
I was so impressed by this hotel's service of allowing guests to go out and having their rooms cleaned while they were out! I would definitely like to go back again!
Very nice, clean, and cozy! I recommend it to everyone. The prices are reasonable.

5 minutes walking distance from a nearby station.
Overall a very clean and accessible room with a washing machine available as well
The location is convenient, and the environment is nice. There is a washing machine and a small balcony available.
If you're traveling to Kyoto with your family, this is the best place to stay and I highly recommend it.
First of all, the location is great.
It's close to Tofukuji Station, just one stop from Kyoto Station, and there's a convenience store and ramen shop within a 5-minute walk, making it very convenient.
The room was also clean, and the best thing about it was the customer service.
I had poor Wi-Fi...
A great choice for accommodation in Kyoto, very close to the station and a FamilyMart nearby. The highlight is that you can see the Kamogawa River and Kyoto Tower when you open the room, which is really amazing. The facilities in the room are also great. I really recommend staying here if you come to Kyoto!
For an unmanned hotel, the facilities were really good. I think there were appliances that I would need, like a refrigerator and washing machine. However, there was no elevator, so it was difficult to drag my suitcase up the stairs. Also, the room door was hard to open. I think you would be very confused if it was your first time here. But the bathroom was really nice!

It was amazing. The room, the location, the staff, the value. It was all there. The staff also hooked us up with new towels, water, razors, toothbrushes, etc,. in the morning so we really had everything we needed, the beds and bathroom were very clean so i felt comfortable during my entire stay.
Quiet, quaint, and close to the university.
The hotel host Thomas is very hospitable. He was gracious in adding my daughter to the stay last min without any additional cost. He also helped me to arrange for a taxi. Overall, it is just a wonderful experience staying at this quiet neighborhood.
Highly recommend! The inn is very cozy and clean and the room we got was very spacious. It is in close proximity to a subway station and bus stop, making commutes via public transit convenient. The staff were also lovely and extremely helpful! We would definitely stay again if we go back to Kyoto!!
Helpful staff. Nice traditional Japanese room, but with a more western bed. Forget about your ordinary hotel when you visit Kyoto.

We loved our stay at matchaya!
This was a ryokan/modern room hybrid, but more on the modern side. Very quiet and comfortable. Everything was clean and well maintained. The location is great and the neighborhood is awesome. It is not right next to anything, but is close to a lot of things. We had a wonderful stay here. Small room, but very convenient and comfortable. Thank you Machiya Kamiumea for a lovely experience.
Would use Machiya again
Nice and quiet. Service was great. Little bit of a walk to the nearest train station and Gion but manageable. Would use Machiya again
Lovely Japanese style room. Quiet location.
We loved our stay. It was comfortable and spacious and we wish we could have stayed longer. Check-in and out were very easy. It was very clean and so beautiful. The area is a little more out of the way than it appears so don’t expect to use this location as a hub for sightseeing, especially because Kyoto’s transit system isn’t as robust. That being said, you won’t really want to leave the room.
Quaint Kyoto local stay
This place was very quaint and right in the heart of the neighborhood! You really feel like you are one of the locals. There is a coffee shop nearby called Ichikagawa that has lovely breakfast. Lawsons is also nearby for your convenience store needs. The only downside to this location is it is far from the subway. We had to take taxi a lot. The heated floors and toiletry takeaway...

This is a well located hotel with excellent breakfast and room service.
The hotel is 2-min walking distance from Yamashina train station, which is only one stop away from Kyoto.
The Japanese style breakfast with abundant choices is impressive and of the highest quality. The tranquility and considerate room service make our stay in Kyoto an remarkable experience.
Definitely 100% recommended!
I stayed here 3 nights in Kyoto although the location is not near any major tourist areas its a lovely hotel right off the train line. In fact you simply go down the stairs to get to the station. I had a great view from my room and staff were so kind. Will absolutely stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto!
The hotel is right by the Yamashina JR and subway station, easy access to Kyoto and other cities nearby. The front desk people are so polite and make guests feel welcome and respected. The room has everything you need for amenities, the onsen was great, I’m happy I found this hotel and enjoyed the stay very much. Highly recommended!
This hotel is right outside of a train station with restaurants and stores nearby. However no tourist sites. I enjoyed the women's only hot and wet sauna area with shampoo bar. The hotel quality is great! Love the beauty products and ladies spa. The breakfast buffet does not disappoint. One stop from Kyoto station and underground access to Yamashina station. The staff is kind and helpful. Thank you!

Staff are amazing, helpful, and accommodating; and there’s not even staff on-site. They took care of us even though we kept making mistakes during check-in. House is a newly renovated Kyoto Machiya house, complete with A/C in every room. The experience of staying in a traditional-modern Kyoto house was unforgettable. Location 10 stars, Lodging 10 stars, Staff 100 stars!!!
I really enjoyed staying in this little house located very conveniently in downtown Kyoto. The person for the check-in was very friendly and helpful. It was for me a perfect first step into the Japanese way of living.

Had a pleasant stay. The room is clean and the staffs are very friendly and helpful.
A vibrant and modern hotel manned by young people. Walking distance to Sujicho and slightly further to Kyoto station. You can a bus to the Nishiki market. Near to other well known tourists attractions.
Great experience for the price paid. Lobby receptionists were super friendly with staff capable of speaking either English, Japanese, Chinese and/or Korean. The room was clean and new. The lobby was nice, clean, simple but modern. Located within 4-7 mins walking distance from the train station. Definitely recommended for those who don't mind a short walk to the train station.
The hotel has a reception, check-in was excellent and fast, the hotel provides free razors, toothbrush and other amenities. The room is clean with large beds, the shower has everything you need. Location was very good but the hotel is very dated and appears grubby because of it. The staff are hidden behind a wall so you can’t see them and can only communicate via a space at the bottom. It was kind of weird. The staff were friendly though.
This was a love hotel, decorated in a Showa-era style. Check-in was at 5 PM, which was quite late, but the staff were very kind and attentive. So I left my luggage there and continued sightseeing. When I returned to the hotel that night, I was shocked! The room reeked of cigarette smoke, which was disgusting. They gave me a late checkout (2 hours extension) for no additional charge. Staff tried to talk in English with me, and was very helpful. Breakfast was amazing also, and very cheap! The room is very spacious. Some things seem a bit old, and the red light in the bathroom did not work. But it was a nice stay, would probably do it again in the future!
good good, very comfortable. Very friendly
This is a love hotel. It has all the necessities, bed, bath and toilet. Unfortunately the hotel has a very dated feel, lighting ,carpet and wall show its age.
Love hotel rooms are big , and this is no exception. Also big :)
Not the most exciting or modern love hotel I have been to. For cheap and last minute accommodations it's no problem for seasoned travelers. There is no issue with cleanliness...

This Japanese inn in Ogoto Onsen allows guests to stay with their dogs, and its signature feature is the service provided by the waitresses. Since a bath and in-room dining option would be expensive, we chose the option of "no bath, in-room dining only." The building can be difficult to find if you're unfamiliar with the area, so we recommend taking the "Minamishin" sign, turning left at the "Ogoto...
The portions for dinner and breakfast were very generous, even though they were described as "light set meals." The front desk staff and waitresses were all very friendly. Because the hotel is small, it had a homey atmosphere and I was able to relax. The cute mascot dog came to see me off.
The hotel is old and the price/performance ratio is not high
The service attitude is excellent, and they try their best to meet the needs of me and my friends. If we bought a cake, we asked them to get the plate and knife. They will be more considerate and give their friends a surprise without letting them know. Quietly give me the plate and knife.
It is a traditional hot spring hotel. It is worth mentioning that there are several kinds of bath salts in their public bathroom, suitable for different skin types. My skin is very smooth after using it. The dog that saw the guests off was very cute. When the car drove away, I looked back and saw the dog following the waiter and watching at the door of the store.
The facility is a little old, but the service and the staff were very friendly and I was very satisfied.

Near the lake and a beautiful embankment. Beautiful room in Japanese style, pity the toilet is separate on the floor.

We stayed here as a family. We were a couple in our 40s with three children aged 14 to 23, and we had a great time relaxing.
The hotel is about a 7-minute walk from JR Tofukuji Station. It is very convenient to go to Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. There are many convenience stores nearby. The room of nearly 500 square meters is 400 yuan per night, which is very cost-effective in Kyoto.
The room is quite big and the structure is OK, but the tatami in the master bedroom is too shabby and old. The quality of the quilt and pillow in the room is very poor. The kitchen facilities are also a little old and not easy to use. There is no washing machine, which is a big problem for an apartment suite. The service at the front desk is very average. You have to carry the garbage down by yourself...

The hotel is conveniently located next to a bus stop, though the metro station is a 15-20 minute walk away. Absolutely our favorite hotel of our trip!!!!! Free washing machine. A kitchen with fridge freezer! Clean room!!!! Great bathroom!!! Absolutely loved it. Well recommended. It was also an insanely good price!! Wow just wow. The owners a doing a great job!!!
We had a nice stay of 4 nights in Kyoto. The room was clean and decent overall. One thing to note: if you’re sensitive to noise, this may not be the best option, as sounds carry easily through the walls and from the street.
The kitchen was functional but quite limited, with very few utensils and only two very small plates.
Great location, good because right outside there's a bus stop that takes you to the city center in two minutes.
The soundproofing isn't very good, 😂 which isn't ideal for a light sleeper like me.
It was great that there were bicycle rentals available.
In short, everything was great!
The washing machine detergent was provided free of charge.
The bathtub had a washer-dryer function.
