Best Hotels in Otsu

Very good, the room was spacious with a pleasant view from the window. Personally, I felt the breakfast on the 36th floor was better than on the 37th.

Aircon in room wasn’t that cool as it could get stuffy with 4 people in the room. Little dated hotel but good for staying a night or 2. Parking was free when signed up with their free membership program

About a ten-minute walk away, there's also a sushi restaurant with excellent value for money and incredibly fresh ingredients

The lakeside room is incomparable to general street view or building view hotels, giving guests the feeling of exceptional value. It is difficult to find such spacious rooms at the same price in other hotels in Japan

This hotel faces Lake Biwa directly, offering fantastic views. It's conveniently located near a supermarket and a popular duck meat soba restaurant by the lake. The hotel's shuttle bus is also very convenient

Hotel Otsu Biwako was absolutely superb in terms of both facilities and service. It was the most satisfying hotel stay during my entire trip to Japan. We were given a high-floor room with a delightful view

The location is excellent and the hygiene is great. The only minor issue was some pipe noise at night. Overall, I was very satisfied and would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto.

I stayed here for New Year's Day and found it incredibly convenient for getting around. It's perfectly situated between Daimaru and Takashimaya, making it a top choice for shopping

The hotel lobby has a seating area where you can enjoy complimentary coffee. Plus, there's a direct entrance from the lobby right into the subway station, which is super handy

Likes: - Excellent location in Gion; right by the Gion bus stop; lots of places to eat/shop; a few steps away from the Yasaka Shrine and other landmarks - They give cute little things like a foldable comb and a nice wash towel (which I never got in any other hotel) - There's a press for pants on every floor - Water is replenished daily - Coffee is Starbucks Dolce pods - Comfy beds and nice pillows...

The rooms were good size for two with overhead size luggage. No sense of overcrowded. Its located on the touristy part of Kyoto so expect crowds

Location is great - right the middle of downtown.

They leave a bag on your door every day with a fresh bath towel, coffee and cup for the coffee maker; and you can use that bag to leave your used towel items to put outside your door for them to pick up

I think that is a great system. The room was cozy and just enjoy for my husband and I. He especially loved that you can adjust and turn the lights off/on directly from the headboard - very convenient!

Although the Western breakfast only offered one main dish, it tasted great. The buffet section had fresh squeezed juice and a good variety of salads. My only complaint was the lack of meat; it was all vegetarian

This is an excellent hotel! While it's a bit pricey, the service and quality of the stay are absolutely worth it. The front desk staff were all incredibly friendly during check-in and even upgraded our room

Additionally, the hotel has an exclusive lounge for guests with a good selection of drinks and mainly rice cracker snacks that go well with alcohol. Most importantly, the location is super convenient

The only meat options were smoked meats like bacon and eggs. I also tried the Japanese breakfast one morning, and it was equally exquisite. Each small dish even had a label indicating the origin of its ingredients

Without luggage, the hotel is about 20 min bus ride to Kyoto Station. Our room (two twin beds) is spacious and has a great view of the mountain. Beds are great, with the right level of firmness / softness for us

The first day I arrived I had a stomach issue and the hotel was really kind and helped send fresh ginger tea up to my room and requested. They went out out of their way to find me fresh ginger

They are once again very kind and send a staff to help me pack all my belongings and help me coordinate sending my luggage to Tokyo so I don’t need to lift it on the train

We mistakenly thought the drop-off point for the shuttle at Otsu Station was the pick-up point, and the driver kindly took our luggage and explained that the pick-up was across the street, without being rigid about making us go there

High quality hotel that is reasonably priced with free parking. Our room had a lovely view across the lake. For the price it's excellent.

I used a pre-purchased room voucher, and it was such an amazing deal! The hotel is right near Otsu Station and is absolutely beautiful. The room was huge, with a direct view of Lake Biwa

Good overall, however a few bits with the room. There is no mirror that we found in the room outside of the bathroom, there is also a window that we couldn’t see a way of blocking out light (no curtain)

It can be a little inconvenient to push your luggages to and from the train station, and walking back at night, esp if you are alone, can feel a little unnerving as the hotel is located on a quiet street

There are two taxi stands right downstairs, Takashimaya is next door, and many attractions and shopping streets are within walking distance. The Good Nature Station downstairs is also great for browsing

The biggest advantage of Hotel Gajoen Tokyo is definitely its location. Beyond its prime spot in the city center, there's a direct walkway from the hotel's third floor straight to Takashimaya

It’s a proper eco-friendly spot, they give you a reusable water bottle to use during your stay, which is dead handy for carrying around while you're out and about

You've got loads of shops and places to explore nearby, so you're never short of things to do😊 Brilliant ! housekeeping did a cracking job

Wow! What a wonderful experience at Biwako Grand Hotel. Truly the most relaxing part of my Japan trip, the onsen was very beautiful, with fantastic views

We didn't end up getting a pure lake view, but it was still a beautiful and relaxing experience in the tatami room. It was a tad pricey, even for off-season, but with a wonderful kaiseki dinner, it was still a great time

Dinner was served in a grand banquet hall at a designated time, and it was so lavish that the dishes barely fit on the table – everything was delicious! The facilities are quite old, so I did notice noises like the motor and the bathroom fan, but all the staff were very kind, and I had a pleasant stay overall

For a city like Kyoto where every inch of land is precious, this hotel offers incredibly good value for money. The rooms are clean, the location is convenient, and the service is attentive

This hotel is a 5-minute walk from Shijo Kawaramachi Station. Kyoto isn't very big, and in this weather, you can walk to Kiyomizu-dera, the Gion area, stroll along the river, and even reach the **** area all on foot

On check-in and check-out days, you can use your Suica card to lock your luggage, which is right in front of the front desk. There are many restaurants in the alley between the hotel and the Kamo River worth trying

On the first day, I took public transport everywhere, only to realize later how close everything actually was. It's right on a main road, so there's some motorcycle noise, but it didn't bother my sleep much

You will be able to take your loungewear in front of the elevator. The room was single, but I wondered if it was enough to sleep. There was no sound leakage in the next room, etc. , and I was able to spend quietly

Hotel Grand Bach Kyoto Select is well located, with easy access to nearby attractions. The area is not difficult to navigate, and travelling with luggage is convenient as most of the roads around the hotel are flat

Last year I had the chance to participate in the goto campaign, and I'm doing it again. The location is near the south exit of Nishiki Market, and it's very convenient for getting anywhere

The lobby amenities were well thought out and added to the overall comfort of the stay. A welcome drink was also provided for every guest, which was a nice touch

We booked one of the rooms with the best views a month in advance. The 68-square-meter room was incredibly spacious, offering stunning panoramic views of Kyoto, centered around the iconic Yasaka Pagoda

Oh, and although the Japanese restaurant is Michelin-starred, the Western restaurant on the first floor also offers excellent food, especially the lobster pasta – it's exactly to my liking

The location was the best! Two doors down from En en for great Gyoza, 5 min walk to Hiniku to come, around the block from Pizza Stada, and a couple blocks from the bus station & the Main Street in Gion

We had enough room to spread out and it feel like we were on top of each other. The lobby area is great with free coffee and snacks & wifi. We didn’t do breakfast but it looked good

My wife and I booked the Classic Room for 3 nights in April 2025. We thought this was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip. From the moment you enter the hotel, you are welcomed by the hotel staff

Short walk to Gion and other interesting areas. The only area for inprovement would be offering a wider selection for breakfast. It was excellent, but we wished there were additional options
