One of the better APA hotels we have stayed at. We were originally in a smoking room. But they were able to switch us to a non-smoking room. We were very pleased with the rest of our stay there. Great location all in all and close to everything in the area.

A very good experience. The reception is present till 24 00, so we had no problem with a late check in. Very nice staff, they answered all our questions about moving around Kyoto and where to rent bikes. We did not have breakfast because we did not want to, so I cannot say anything about it. I was very pleased with the hotel room design, comfort and space. The parking is first come first serve even though I had requested for it earlier so I had to park elsewhere for the first few nights. Location is excellent. Staff even found my discarded SIM card and were honest to callback and inform me about it.

I chose this hotel because they mentioned to have parking spot however it was very disappointed. Everyday you have to go somewhere else to park and pay a very high fee. The reception is not very helpful and feel very frustrated. The hot spring is dirty and packed with people.

Wow! What a wonderful experience at Biwako Grand Hotel. Truly the most relaxing part of my Japan trip, the onsen was very beautiful, with fantastic views. We didn't end up getting a pure lake view, but it was still a beautiful and relaxing experience in the tatami room. It was a tad pricey, even for off-season, but with a wonderful kaiseki dinner, it was still a great time.

Booked a few nights here last minute when we didnt enjoy our current hotel. Friendly staff and the room was ready even though it was a same day arrival. Breakfast buffet is very generous in the morning with western and Japanese options. well, i mistakenly choose the smoking room which made me feel very uncomfortable whole night. It's my fault, I don't blame, but the ventilation is sooooo bad that I could always smell the smoking from my next-door neighbor. Others were ok. If you don't mind it's a bit old and you would just stay for a night, this is a good choice.

If you are going to visit Lake Biwa or Hikone Castle, staying at Reiah Hotel Otsu Ishiyama is very convenient for transportation and the price is much more affordable than hotels in Kyoto. The hotel breakfast is good and freshly ground coffee is available all day.
