New hotel with a clean, spacious room and everything you need. The area is nice and quiet at night, so I slept really well. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Staff was friendly and polite. Room is clean and comfortable. Location is a strong point as the hotel is very central and within walking distance to temples and shopping district.
For this price, the value for money is really good. However, they don't offer room cleaning, but they do provide towel changes. There's a free coffee machine on the first floor. The location on Huajian Road is also very convenient. Overall, the size of the room is perfectly fine for one person. Recommended!
Fantastic hotel. Great location, super helpful employees (who called a bike rental place for us), and good lobby with tea and coffee. There is no breakfast available, but we ususally got breakfast at a convenience store and ate it in the lobby. I would book here again.
Nice hotel and very well positioned! The receptionists are always happy to help you and generally they always speak English! PS. They also sell the fragrance you can smell in the hotel, this is very nice!!
The hotel is so good and we love the location! Thank you so much for this experience

Everything was great, except the doors were quite heavy so they made a sound whenever we had to key in the room code. t
Extremely friendly staff! Very nice stay in beautiful Kyoto. Very accessible to all kinds of places!
The place is clean, including a very functional and well kept kitchen.   Very helpful staff, she facilitated my early checkout outside her working hourly, Thank you do much.
I was traveling alone this time, and couldn't find a hotel during a busy holiday period. This hostel exceeded my expectations; it was incredibly clean and tidy, and had all the facilities needed. The ground floor is a bistro where you can have brunch or drinks, and it has a great atmosphere. The location is also excellent, very close to Shijo Ohashi Bridge and Kamo River. Takashimaya for shopping and...
It's okay. It's my second time staying here. I think it's the same room. It's a 1-minute walk to Slo and 5 minutes to Suba.Kyoto. So I highly recommend it. It's very close to the river and the price is reasonable.
Great location with plenty to explore nearby. The restaurant/bar downstairs is very comfortable and the service is good. I'd definitely stay here again. Hotel guests get discount coupons for the bar downstairs – highly recommended for those who like a modern aesthetic with a touch of natural wood.

Really good location here. Really good location here. relax
Clean, quite and convenient. A very good place to stay a while.
The hotel is located right outside the Otsu Station ticket gates. Entering the property is through the attached bar and restaurant. Most of the nearby restaurants seem to close around 11pm. There are no cooking utensils, but you can bring your own food and drink in the common areas. There are also pots and water dispensers, so we were able to eat cup ramen inside the hotel.
Excellent establishment, the staff are very pleasant and everything is very clean.
I used it last time, and the location, directly connected to the station, is very convenient. The showers, powder rooms, and other facilities are spacious and clean, making it a pleasant experience. I'd like to use it again.
Excellent location, right at the station. Check in 16h00. No wifi offered. Hotel access via public restaurant - feels weird to walk between diners to go out / return. Lockers far too narrow even for airline carry-on. Bathroom is clean, shower has small dry area, and water pressure varies. Capsules are spacious with power socket, lights, shelf, etc. The mattress is a few cm thick piece of soft foam...

Everything was great but we had internet issues. All the staff were excellent in customer service most especially Scion from Myanmar.
Amazing location, staff were excellent, cleanly and lots of space. Wish we could have stayed longer! 10/10.
Very nice hotel, prime location, staff was amazing !! Would most certainly stay at this location next visit
Hidden gem. In the heart of it all.. what a great location. All the hotels in the surrounding area are extremely over priced with less of a view. This hotel is amazing with affordable prices. Recommended. The location is quiet and the environment is clean. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. The location is convenient and in a quiet street and in a normal Japanese street (with apartments, a school and a few restaurants). The rooms are nice and the staff is helpful. You can escape the crowds of Kyoto when staying here.
very nice, confortable, close to the river and train station.
Staff is very kind, and the included amenities are also surprisingly nice! The bed included a body pillow. Part of the Kyoto Go To Travel campaign, so it was 40% off with coupons, ultimately a very pleasant stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed here 4 nights two months ago for our anniversary. We couldn't have dreamt of a better "home" in Kyoto, especially after reading 'In Praise of Shadows'. The suite was to die for: beautiful decoration, comfortable futons, an amazing heating system... What I loved the most, however, was the shared bath tub! And it's worth mentioning how helpful and kind Hazuki-san is, we couldn...
Couldn't have found a better place in the heart of Kyoto. The owner is amazing and very helpful for everything, location is perfect for exploring on foot. Highly recommend this ryokan for your stay in the city.
This was the perfect place to stay for our four nights in Kyoto. It is located in a quiet neighborhood that is close to many dining options and sites, but also close to public transportation if you need to go further. Great place to stay. You know the rooms are small before you book but they make them super comfy with everything you could possibly need and more. Yes the rooms are small but very nice, youve everything, minibar included and a nice bathroom. 2 complementary water, breakfast and a small breakfast-to-go with yogurt. Direct to the city center. For ~40€ you cant stay better in Kyoto/Japan!
Tabiya Hotel is a chic and very modern property that is conveniently located in the heart of Kyoto. Foreign travelers should know that the rooms are very, very, very small. Short stays of one or two nights when you are planning to not be in the room for extended periods would be recommended for those passing...
Chic modern style hotel with new amenities. Yes the rooms are small, the bed is literally the widest thing in the room but if you treat it as just a place to sleep then it's great. Great location. Friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Fantastic stay and exactly the Japan experience in Gion that we were after.
It was a very unique experience, although the walls were thin and we could hear a lot from other individuals, it was not that bad. Loved the hosts they were very nice, especially the old lady at the front she was wonderful! Would recommend to stay in the area if you are looking for something more traditional!
Very Japanese style, the aunt is very nice
The host was very kind and liked to tell you about what to do in the area
My biggest concern was sleeping on a futon but it turned out to be so comfortable! The house is beautiful and the owner is extremly kind. I would suggest booking the hotel in summer, the bathrooms and showers are not isolated so it is very very cold there in winter. Quiet. Traditional. Foreigner friendly. I only stay here when I'm in Kyoto. My mother loved the yukata and asked where to get them so they sold her a couple at cost. Very accommodating people run this place.
You will love it if you like the old Ryokan style dormitory. We rented the whole place to ourselves and cooked tons of protein-rich food. Good times.
Great staff, very helpful and they are English speaking. We loved their traditional bathtub after a long day and if you like sleeping on traditional bamboo floor it's great, for me I like my bed extremely cozy but my husband loved sleeping on the floor. They clean your room every day and they will supply you with slippers, a kimono and two towels each. There are a TV and an electric kettle for tea...
A lovely traditional-style accommodation. Staff were warm and accommodating and the rooms were comfortable. Shower water could take a bit of time to warm up and sometimes the bar across the street could get a little noisy with people talking, but neither were problematic for me. The location is superbly located and the price to quality ratio is really good. The train station is easy to reach. Good transport links to downtown or to old town. Next to the place is a small local spa and opposite a small bar with a really good atmosphere. There is a possibility to wash clothes.
Great little place to stay. Spotless clean. Super welcome reception. We were able to live our luggage till 3pm with them, even those check out is 10am. It is a nice neighbourhood as well. Would stay again!

Clean, the dormitory of 4 was connected to the private bathroom and shower. Easily, by far, the best experience in Japan of 3 hostels. And the best part is the staff members, everyone has been so welcoming and showed kindness. Totally recommend! Also the Japanese breakfast was very very good.
people were nice and i took one beautiful picture ^_^

The room, Seiran, overlooked a Japanese garden, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Those who appreciate traditional Japanese houses will find this a truly satisfying experience. Breakfast, enjoyed amidst the beautiful garden views, was a perfect way to start the day. The hostess was incredibly kind and attentive; I'll definitely bring friends back next time.
The small town of Otsu is a place I really love. It's quiet, not crowded with tourists, and right next to Lake Biwa. The tea room in the common area is beautiful, with a small garden, and the public bathroom is very clean. The only downside is that the all-wooden townhouses have almost no sound insulation, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who have trouble sleeping.
Inase is a really amazing and beautiful place. If you're looking for peace after spending time in Kyoto or other big cities, it's the best place to get a rest. Clean, friendly, comfort and convenient location!
This is a Japanese-style B&B with a great atmosphere. It is said that it was a granary a hundred years ago and was later converted into a B&B. The floor makes a creaking sound when you step on it. I had a fantasy in my mind about whether the black coal balls described by Hayao Miyazaki would appear in the same way. I walked around barefoot, without a speck of dust. Very clean and tidy
The homestay has done a great job in every detail. There are two places that left a particularly deep impression on me. The first picture is a hot water bottle stuffed into the bed. In fact, the air conditioner was set to over 20 degrees in advance, which was already very warm. Sometimes, a little bit of excessive service can really touch people's hearts. Had a great stay here with my family. Very comfortable and pretty traditional japanese setting. Had a nice experience! Our hosts were very kind and helpful. You couldn't find better hosts and caretakers! A little far from the bus stop and rest of town but results in a nice walk through the residential neighborhood. Only about 13 mins to the bus stop to town.
A different stay in Kyoto, away from the crowds, in the mountain. The rooms are bigger than the standard Japanese, and the hosts are very friendly. There is a 10' walk until the closest bus station, and when it is hot it can be a bit harder, but nothing crazy.
Very far from the center and bus station. But very kind staff. When we were here it was very cold weather, so the toilet and bathroom on the terrace didn't good. But in warm weather must be nice with amazing view.

Such a lovely hostel to stay. The owner is very friendly. If you’re looking for a place that offers nature and rest, only 10 minutes away from Kyoto station. This is your place
It's good because it's cheap. It's okay if you just need to sleep for a day or so.
This is a B&B that provides Chinese services. It is located within walking distance of the JR station and the port, and is just across the street from the shopping street. The Guesthouse was very clean and all ammenaties available to use. The location was absolutely fantastic close to the city and very close to the train station. I enjoyed my stay and if I was in the Kyoto area I would probably stay there again.
Great location, close to restaurants, shops and temples. Neighborhood has a really lovely feel especially with all the tea houses nearby. The room was large and relatively quiet. Very affordable place! We were, however, in a room on the first floor, and could hear every step that anyone took in the room above us (including kids running around).
