Lake Biwa Otsu Prince Hotel, Otsu1 / 30
9.0
Otsu, 4-7-7 Nionohama (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Overlooking lake biwa room! From far you could also see the snow mountain ! You can walk around the lake in the morning!
Very good, the room was spacious with a pleasant view from the window. Personally, I felt the breakfast on the 36th floor was better than on the 37th.
Aside from its location by Lake Biwa, this is a very ordinary hotel with basically no service. The air conditioning was uncomfortable, either too cold or too dry. The windows were also dirty, making it hard to see the Lake Biwa scenery clearly.
Didn’t give me highest floor but the design is so cool and it’s the highest building and is very nice and clean and 24 hr check in also have shuttle bus
The lakeside room is incomparable to general street view or building view hotels, giving guests the feeling of exceptional value. It is difficult to find such spacious rooms at the same price in other hotels in Japan. The facilities are clean, and the bathtub space is sufficient, all of which make guests feel comfortable.
This hotel is located right by the lake, offering fantastic views. There's a free shuttle bus to and from the subway station, which makes going out for food and shopping very convenient. It's especially handy if you're driving, as guest parking is free. The rooms are spacious and tidy. Definitely a top choice if you have a car.

Excellent location, right in the heart of the shopping district, and convenient for visiting all the attractions. Although the room was small, it was clean and tidy. The bathroom deserves a special mention – coming back each day for a bath was a real treat!
This is my second stay at Hotel Forza Kyoto. The location right in Kawaramachi is super convenient for shopping and dining. My first stay, I had a room facing the street which was a bit noisy. This time, I got an inner room which was quiet, but I did miss out on the view.
Location is like a 10-15min walk from station. There are STAIRS, no lift or elevator so it’s a pain if have a large and heavy suitcase! When I arrived at the lobby, I actually wasn’t sure whether it was the reception because it looked more like a counter at a large restaurant. The reception staff didn’t really dress like a reception staff. She was just wearing a very casual looking striped top like...
Clean hotel at good location with delicious breakfast, nothing more you need to ask for ;-)
Water is only given 2 bottles per day. However there is a free sake daily. Free coffee unlimited. Location is just very near nishiki market.
The room was very clean, and the location was convenient. I loved the self-check-in and check-out options, which are great for introverts. Plus, there's a free cup of sake and coffee in the lobby every day! The only downside was that my room faced the street and was a bit noisy. Still, I'd choose this hotel again next time.

The location is convenient, and the hotel staff are warm and thoughtful. I really liked it and will definitely come again next time! (The previous review was already very detailed, so I'm just leaving a quick comment as I saw a pending review here. I'll definitely be back next time I visit Kyoto!)
Traveling to Kyoto with my family, choosing to stay here was definitely the right decision. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from Kyoto Station, which is incredibly convenient. The buffet breakfast is on the 17th floor, offering lovely views of Higashiyama and the Kamo River. The breakfast spread is quite extensive and the quality is good.
Hotel Okura Kyoto was the most pleasant surprise of our entire trip. First off, you can walk directly into the hotel from the subway. After getting off the subway, you enter a shopping mall, and the walk from the mall to the hotel has a very upscale feel to it. The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming; we weren't sure how to get to the lobby for check-in from a shop in the mall, and a staff member...
We recommended this hotel to all kinds of travelers from nearby beautiful places and shopping areas spacious room, delicious meals and good services
Beautiful and very hospitality hotel
Top end hotel of all we tried while traveling around Japan. Large room, spacious bathroom, good quality beds and pillows. Convenient central Kyoto location, next to subway station and in close proximity to many local attractions. Location is good. Easy to assess. Booked for city view but given a closed window request for a change but a carpark view. Just abit disappointed cos booked for a city view for night but not accordingly to the booking given. Overall is ok.
The room was clean and tidy, and the customer service was professional and polite. The facilities were complete, and the lobby had a beautiful lounge area with free coffee. My requests made through Ctrip customer service before check-in were also met. Most importantly, the location is excellent, with many great food options nearby and beautiful scenery. Highly recommended.
Spacious room. Not crowded hotel. Very convenient location. Near 2 metro stations and street shopping. Comfortable bed.
The layout is well-designed, and the room is spacious. Pulling back the curtains was a delightful surprise: a lively yet serene snowfall. I went down to the hotel's lobby for a cup of matcha and enjoyed the beautiful view.
Traveling from Osaka to Kyoto, I stayed at the Cross Hotel for two nights, and overall, it met my expectations. The room was clean, tidy, and had a Japanese-style feel. The hotel lobby was also spacious, bright, and clean. The location was excellent, offering a peaceful retreat despite being in a bustling area; it was surprisingly quiet at night. My only minor complaint was that the room window was...

We enjoyed our stay here with no issues. They are very nice and accommodating tomorrow stays. They leave a bag on your door every day with a fresh bath towel, coffee and cup for the coffee maker; and you can use that bag to leave your used towel items to put outside your door for them to pick up. I think that is a great system. The room was cozy and just enjoy for my husband and I. He especially...
Likes: - Excellent location in Gion; right by the Gion bus stop; lots of places to eat/shop; a few steps away from the Yasaka Shrine and other landmarks - They give cute little things like a foldable comb and a nice wash towel (which I never got in any other hotel) - There's a press for pants on every floor - Water is replenished daily - Coffee is Starbucks Dolce pods - Comfy beds and nice pillows...
One of the better APA hotels we have stayed at. We were originally in a smoking room. But they were able to switch us to a non-smoking room. We were very pleased with the rest of our stay there. Great location all in all and close to everything in the area.
Staff were amazing, amenities are great, location is FANTASTIC!
2 nights stay with a toddler. I gave it 3 stars because of its great location, price, and the staff (really helpful and kind). I would’ve rated it less otherwise. The beds and pillows were so uncomfortable, And room really small. Honestly I don’t recommend it if you have kids. It’s OK otherwise but only for a short stay.
Great location, good price, quiet. In need of little refresh but did the job. I would recommand if on budget in the city.

Every time I visit Kyoto these past few years, I always stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, right in Sanjo Kawaramachi, very close to the Kamo River. Nice convenient location to stay if you’re looking to spend time in Nishiki market
Locations are convenient to all the shopping belt.
The service was good, but the room was a bit small. A heads-up: even though I booked a double room, it was listed as single occupancy on Trip.com. If two people stay, you'll need to pay an extra fee at the hotel. The great advantage is the excellent location – it's super convenient and you'll practically pass by it no matter where you're going within the three nearby streets.
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Check-in and check-out were super quick, and the room was just the right size for two carry-on suitcases. Every day they give you a complimentary bottle of water, which is a nice touch. Super nice amenities! The shower was great, and I loved the lavender shampoo and conditioner. The best Marriott experience! The pillows and bedding were incredibly clean and comfortable. The staff noticed we'd bought our own water and thoughtfully added two extra bottles of mineral water to our room. The breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious! So worth it! My daughter said she wants to stay here again next time we visit Kyoto! Too bad I forgot to take pictures of the amazing breakfast
The hotel is new and very clean, with comfortable rooms. The only downside is that it doesn't have a window. They offer free coffee and a public bath. Overall, it's excellent.
The hotel's facilities are excellent. The room layout is well-designed and user-friendly, making everything easily accessible. Even after a five-day stay, I didn't feel bored. I was very pleased with the hotel room design, comfort and space. The parking is first come first serve even though I had requested for it earlier so I had to park elsewhere for the first few nights. Location is excellent. Staff even found my discarded SIM card and were honest to callback and inform me about it.
I chose this hotel because they mentioned to have parking spot however it was very disappointed. Everyday you have to go somewhere else to park and pay a very high fee. The reception is not very helpful and feel very frustrated. The hot spring is dirty and packed with people.
good location, spacious room and cozy design, just the sound proof not good and the noise from the traffic is quite disturbing at the night. Thanks frontline for arranging luggage transfer to my next stop.

Location: Superb! Located between 2 stations - SANJO and Kyoto shiyakusho-Mae station. Shiyakusho-Mae is nearer to the hotel (exit 1),  about a min walk away after climbing two flights of stairs. Facilities: A bit dated. Cleanliness: Very clean. Ambiance: Comfortable. Service: Warm and friendly ❤️ Definitely lives up to its reputation as a long-standing hotel. The scenery by Lake Biwa is stunning. Standing on the balcony, the view is picturesque. Upgraded the room for an additional 4000 yen upon check-in, and it felt well worth the money.
This hotel is located right by Lake Biwa, and every room boasts a large balcony where you can take in the stunning lake views. It's truly refreshing and uplifting! Good overall, however a few bits with the room. There is no mirror that we found in the room outside of the bathroom, there is also a window that we couldn’t see a way of blocking out light (no curtain). The hotel was also quite loud overnight, but probably expected due to the location. Not far at all from the station which is really handy. Good value for money.

Big shoutout to the staff working in nightshift 5th November. He helped with so many questions. Thanks again and highly recommended.

Wow! What a wonderful experience at Biwako Grand Hotel. Truly the most relaxing part of my Japan trip, the onsen was very beautiful, with fantastic views. We didn't end up getting a pure lake view, but it was still a beautiful and relaxing experience in the tatami room. It was a tad pricey, even for off-season, but with a wonderful kaiseki dinner, it was still a great time.

The hotel is really good , lobby service I can say 10/10 perfectly fine. There’s a hot spring inside the hotel , vry comfortable also near to metro and is a quiet neighborhood at night but also nearby everywhere u wanna access in Kyoto love it !
I’ve stayed in Kyoto many times and I just have to say that this is one of the best values you’ll get for your money. I found the facilities to be very well kept and was a nice balance of modern and traditional design elements. The hotel has a nice restaurant and bar and a number of entertainment options throughout the week. The spa was very nice and the PJs in room with towel bag is a nice touch....
A lifesaver during the off-season! This is my favorite hotel chain; I absolutely love the decor. The service is also excellent. It's a top-notch Japanese hotel chain that I highly recommend.
Excellent hotel! The front desk staff were very welcoming. We usually check in using English when we're abroad, but here they even had Chinese service available. The facilities are a bit old, and there's a large public bath on the first floor separated by gender, but it's not a hot spring. The hotel also offers Kabuki performances.
Very clean, and the room was spacious. They also had a geisha performance every evening, which added a nice touch of local Kyoto culture. The hotel's location is good too; it's about a 10-minute walk to Kyoto Daimaru department store, which is very convenient.
I had a very comfortable 3-day stay at this hotel. It's right near a pedestrian street, which made it super convenient to walk to Smart Coffee. The large bathroom only has one tub, but it was very clean and the water temperature was perfect. I took a relaxing soak there every day. The front desk service was excellent, especially Wang! I had a double booking issue, and he handled it perfectly for me...

Stayed here for four nights while in Kyoto. In a great area a short ride from all the sights, but an interesting neighbourhood. Shops and restaurants close by. Would recommend.
The location is quite good, and it has everything you need.
This hotel is a 5-minute walk from Shijo Kawaramachi Station. Kyoto isn't very big, and in this weather, you can walk to Kiyomizu-dera, the Gion area, stroll along the river, and even reach the **** area all on foot. On the first day, I took public transport everywhere, only to realize later how close everything actually was. The room is small but clean. It's right on a main road, so there's some motorcycle...
For a city like Kyoto where every inch of land is precious, this hotel offers incredibly good value for money. The rooms are clean, the location is convenient, and the service is attentive. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto.
The perfect hotel! Wonderful location right next to Gion (and a beautiful canal), clean and comfortable room, lots of amenities, quiet, good service. Can onl recommend.
Hotel location is excellent. Not only super near the beautiful Kamo River, train & bus station & shopping mall. Just 5 mins walking distance you can have tons of restaurants to choose.
