Kagoshima, 101 Nagasakicho (29 km from centre) 🧭 Map
I stayed here two years ago and stayed in the same room again this time.
The building itself is a little old, but it's clean so it doesn't bother me.
The Japanese-style room has a separate bath and toilet, making it very convenient for families with children. The view from the window is also beautiful. The facilities are well-equipped with a large public bath and laundry room, and the breakfast is...
Ghe building looked quite old. Room is spacious but doesn’t have private bathroom. The staffs are super friendly and polite. It takes a little bit of walk to reach the town center. However there is a small park and lighthouse right next to it. A walk there is magical.
Enjoyed our stay. Building is old and could benefit from updating. Lovely location. Staff excellent.
The owner is involved in cat rescue activities, and there were lots of cats around.
When I entered the room, the air conditioning was on and I was very grateful for the consideration.
The front desk staff were also very friendly.
Although it was raining, I enjoyed my stay.
Thank you very much.
The hotel was set back from the main road. It was clean and tidy from the outside. The staff were pleasant and welcoming. The room surprised us, it was large and had a good view of the harbour. Beds were large and comfy.
We only stayed 1 night but would stay again if we pass by.
The room has a retro feel, but the hotel was kind enough to give us an ocean view room as there was one available. The view was great and it felt great! And it was also nice that the bathroom and toilet were separate!

I used it for a day trip. It opens at 8am, so it's great for travelers with limited time. I went there first thing in the morning on a long weekend, and the two of us were able to enjoy the spacious open-air bath. There was also a Goemon bath called Himeyu. The indoor bath was also spacious. You can't use the sauna without a special mat.

Good hotel service and facilities as well. Front Desk customer service provide excellent service. Speaks good English and very helpful. Free flow of welcome drink vending machine at your own convenience. Highly recommended.
The room is more spacious than an average business hotel, well-equipped and very clean. The location is very convenient in the city center. You can reach the Planetarium Pedestrian Street in a few minutes' walk. There are many convenience stores and restaurants nearby. The lobby is on the second floor. There is a free drink supply all day long. There is also a large bathhouse and paid parking lot....
clean! The toilet and bathroom are clean and tidy! The location is great!
Great super breakfast with a view. Huge bathroom for japanese standards. The room feels new. Nice sento in the hotel

We stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days when we visited Kagoshima for my daughter's national club tournament. A typhoon was coming, and since I didn't bring an umbrella when I left, I thought I'd have to go to the convenience store to get one. However, the hotel staff offered to use the umbrellas provided, and they even mentioned the length of my stay and greeted me. We had a very pleasant stay. Perhaps...
The price was quite reasonable, but the room was larger and cleaner than I expected, probably because it had been renovated. The location was also great. 🙆♀️
However, the walls seemed quite thin, so it might be difficult if you miss a spot with someone on your floor (I could hear people talking in front of the elevator through the wall).
There is a Japanese-style room. Mysterious feeling like sleeping in bed
A budget hotel. Stayed after night out.
Nice small cheap place. 45 mins from the airport so dont take a taxi. Check out is 10am and 1000 every hr after that. My room had two windows with no view but made the room very cold. Breakfast is self serve with a very small menu. Located very close to the shopping and entertainment.

It's close to the Tanegashima Yakutaka Trail and I use it when I'm in Kagoshima City. The food is filling and satisfying.
We stayed at Aqua Garden Hotel Fukumaru for our school trip!
We stayed in room 408, which was a Japanese-style room!
Sakurajima couldn't be seen from our room, but it looked so beautiful when we went outside🌸🏝
We had a wonderful stay at the Aqua! The staff and owner were incredibly kind and helpful and the tatami room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed one of the best made Japanese/western breakfasts ever at the hotel’s restaurant. We hope to return soon.
Good location with magnificent view of Sukurajima. That lady attended to us is super helpful. Highly recommended if you are there. Me lucky to be here.
I felt it was an old inn. The taps made annoying noises and the indoor slippers were not new. However, the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and parking was cheap. It would have been even better if there were bottled water in the rooms.
The staff was very kind.
Walking distance from Tenmonkan.
Nearby is a Showa-style restaurant district.
Location is ok.
The facility is old, so it can't be helped, but it was quite cold at night. Is your air conditioner weak?

As other reviews indicate, this inn, run by an elderly proprietress, is completely lacking in cleanliness.
There were several insects in the bathtub. When moving around the room, a thin layer of dust accumulated on the screen of my smartphone, which I had left unattended.
Price: 7/10
Service: 5/10
Cleanliness: 0/10
The hotel's decor is somewhat dated. The owner is a kind elderly lady who provides attentive and warm service. The hotel features a large natural hot spring bath, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. While the breakfast selection isn't extensive, it's meticulously prepared and tastes quite good. In terms of location, the hotel is a bit far from the sand bath onsen. It's also a distance from...
The room is big and clean, but the only downside is that the public bath is not so clean
The staff are polite and the service is good. The environment outside the garden is good. The Japanese-style room is also clean, tidy and well-equipped. Only there is no hot water for taking a shower in the morning. If you want to eat in the evening, you have to go out. The corridor should be undecorated and dusty. But overall, it is a B&B with a separate toilet, and the price/performance ratio is...
The mother's personality was wonderful.
However, the building is more dilapidated than I expected.
I don't mean to speak ill of it, but I wanted to comment for those considering staying here, as it's information I wish they had known beforehand.
First of all, it's not suitable for people who are fastidious about cleanliness.

The food is delicious. While they advertise themselves as creative, the dishes aren't gimmicky; rather, they offer classic Japanese and Western dishes, each seasoned appropriately. The flavors immediately reveal a solid foundation and excellent culinary sensibility.

We stayed here 7Feb2025. The dinner is good , the hot spring is pretty hot and good. But the room is strange, i think it was a dinning room and renovated to a bed room, I will not recommend you to choose this room because no toilet in the room.
The water was always good every time.
This is a very child-friendly hotel. There are lots of toys for children in the resting area after the bath, a large grassy area where you can play ball games, a small park, and a bouncing bed. The hot springs are very smooth and comfortable, the food is delicious, and the overall cost performance is very good.
Great service, huge room with a pleasant view of the garden, and a big spa.
The room was large and I was healed by the lush landscape seen from the window.
I personally like the atmosphere of the building, which is somewhat relaxed.

To head to the hotel from Kagoshima-Chuo Station, if you're taking the city tram (streetcar), transfer at Gunmoto and get off at Kisaba, which is the most convenient option. You can also transfer at Takami-Baba, but you'll have to cross two crosswalks.
Both routes take about 20 minutes, and if you're paying with cash, please get a transfer...
The room is very small, old, and a bit worn. The window doesn't open, and the hallway sometimes smells of cigarettes. The only problem is that the Wi-Fi connection is really bad. But the bed is quite comfortable, and for the price, the overall package is acceptable.
Located 3 minutes from Kisaba Station. Morning coffee and bread are complimentary. Low prices. Recommended for solo travelers.
It's reasonably priced and in a good location. The building is old, but it's worth the price. I'd like to stay again if I have the opportunity.
Located right at a crossroads, it was a nightmare to sleep at night because of the constant traffic.
The service was good; breakfast included a cup of coffee and a bread roll.

Location on the harbor. A room with a sea view as described was only available after a complaint. But even this was only a modest one, across the corner.

Great staff. Late check-in, late breakfast, and luggage storage are possible.

Amazing price and nice staff. Bed was comfortable enough.!!
It is a small hostel. Staffs were nice. I like it as a family style However, I thought I booked the single room but it wasn't. I requested to change to single room but all full. Other than that, everything was good.
Very close to Kagoshima Chuo, cozy, everything is there. A towel costs 100 yen, bunk beds; closed with a curtain, has its own kitchen, dining area.
Bath and shower are normal.
I really liked the location, the staff. Everything is great for unpretentious tourists.
Good luck!
The location is good, next to Kagoshima Chuo Station. The hygiene is average. I guess they don't even change the duvet covers, just the pillowcases and flyers. It's next to the railway, so it can be a bit noisy when the train passes by.
Great value for money, had great time there. Really close to the train station which is a big plus.

This hotel is attached to a golf course. This was my second time staying there, and I stayed alone in a twin room again. The last time I stayed, the open-air bath was dimly lit due to electrical work, but today it was properly repaired and comfortable. This hotel offers a buffet-style breakfast and a large public bath where you can relax and unwind.

You could sense the hotel property had suffered quite a bit from COVID. Still they made every effort to make their hotel guest feel pampered.
The Onsen was a pleasant surprise. I left a favorite hat in the room and once I contacted them, without hesitation they mailed it to my next.

Stayed here for two nights over the holidays. The room was nice with a view of Sakurajima. Access to the Sakurajima ferry was also good.
The room was worth the price. There was a decent coin laundry. Convenience stores were a bit far away on foot. For breakfast, we went to Gusto, which was a three-minute walk away. The parking lot (additional charge) wasn't very large.
The room was clean. The steps to the flooring were high, so you need to be careful when climbing up and down. The large public bath was private and comfortable.

The older gentleman at the front desk was very kind. He offered plenty of welcome drinks and even gave me ice with a glass, which was very thoughtful. I was very pleased and will definitely be returning.

The room was very large. Having lived in Tokyo for so long, the contrast in Kagoshima was striking. The price was reasonable and the room was spacious – I was very satisfied. The lobby offered complimentary water, drinks, and coffee, which was nice. The only slight drawback was that the room had a slightly damp smell.

The best capsule hotel I've stayed at during my travels in Japan. The capsule is large, with convenient storage underneath for shoes and suitcases. Clean showers with all the necessary toiletries for hair, body, and face. I highly recommend it!
There's a great terrace where you can lie on a tatami mat and look at Sakurajima. A large fresh food supermarket is nearby; you can buy some beef and grill it in the kitchen – it's incredibly affordable!
Close to ferry for Sakurajima, everything was clean and in good condition. The long term residents in the dorm was a bit strange, but other than that very value for money. Only two showers and two toilets, so had to queue for bathrooms quite a lot.
Besides being inexpensive, this hotel is exceptionally clean throughout, offers views of Sakurajima volcano, and is very close to the Kagoshima high-speed ferry terminal, from which airport buses connect to Kagoshima Airport.
Nice kitchen. Also washing machine and dryer..
Have to take a bus from Kagoshimachuo station and then walk 10 mins to the hostel. However, it's 10 mind walk to the main shopping area and restaurants.
Perfect view of sakurajima, next to the ferry terminal and really nice and cozy ambience.
