As other reviews indicate, this inn, run by an elderly proprietress, is completely lacking in cleanliness.
There were several insects in the bathtub. When moving around the room, a thin layer of dust accumulated on the screen of my smartphone, which I had left unattended.

The hotel's decor is somewhat dated. The owner is a kind elderly lady who provides attentive and warm service. The hotel features a large natural hot spring bath, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. While the breakfast selection isn't extensive, it's meticulously prepared and tastes quite good. In terms of location, the hotel is a bit far from the sand bath onsen. It's also a distance from JR Ibusuki Station, but its proximity to the port makes it convenient to take a boat.

The room is big and clean, but the only downside is that the public bath is not so clean

The floor wasn't clean.

Both the room and the dining area...

My body started to itch.

The tatami mats were sinking.

I couldn't tell what the food was local or what the regional dishes were.

The shellfish was dry and not tasty.

Was it the kind you get on sale at the supermarket?

Frozen? That's about the impression I got.

There was no explanation, and I wasn't asked what I wanted to drink first.

(There was no drink menu on the table.)
I didn't even know what was available.

The public bath was creepy on the way there.

The lights turn on automatically, but...

I think it would be quite unpleasant for people who don't like horror or for children.

The parking lot was confusing, and there's a step near the entrance/exit of the back parking lot.

There aren't proper white lines, so where am I supposed to park?

I chose this place because of the price, but I should have spent a little more and chosen somewhere else.

I won't be using this place again.

We booked this place at the last minute because we had nowhere else to stay, but even though the food didn't look bad, the entire building lacked cleanliness so much that it completely ruined our appetite. In the end, we couldn't eat dinner or breakfast. It's a shame, but the thought of food being prepared in that building was terrifying.

First, the smell bothered us as soon as we entered.

The bathroom and toilet in the room were combined, and there was so much hair it looked like it hadn't been cleaned.

I was so upset about staying at this hotel that I cried uncontrollably. My father suggested we find a different hotel, but I refused because it would be such a waste.

The toilet on the first floor was very creepy, and I was too scared to use it. Based on other reviews, the bath was also terrible, so I didn't use it.

Only my father tried it.

Even though we didn't use it, we were charged for the bath for four people (our whole family) when we checked out. I suppose that's unavoidable, but I felt like I had to pay for accommodation plus a bath I didn't even use for such a terrible hotel.

You absolutely should not stay here. I think it's fine for people who don't care about cleanliness at all.

The staff are polite and the service is good. The environment outside the garden is good. The Japanese-style room is also clean, tidy and well-equipped. Only there is no hot water for taking a shower in the morning. If you want to eat in the evening, you have to go out. The corridor should be undecorated and dusty. But overall, it is a B&B with a separate toilet, and the price/performance ratio is pretty good. The location can also be reached by walking for 10 minutes from Ibusuki Station or by taking a taxi for 3 minutes.

The mother's personality was wonderful.
However, the building is more dilapidated than I expected.
I don't mean to speak ill of it, but I wanted to comment for those considering staying here, as it's information I wish they had known beforehand.
First of all, it's not suitable for people who are fastidious about cleanliness.
I'm a bit of a germaphobe myself, and there were quite a few things that bothered me.
The women's bathroom, in particular, lacked cleanliness.
The age and dimness were so frightening to me that I couldn't imagine wanting to go in again.
The wallpaper was peeling in many places, and along with the age, it felt rather creepy.
The entrance area was also dimly lit, making me hesitant to go out at night.
The rooms are old, but decent.
I was looking forward to the food because I'd read that it was delicious, and the seasoning was indeed careful and tasty, but first I found hair. Well, it was an elderly couple, so I overlooked it, but there were about two different caterpillar-like insects on the vegetable plate. 😅😅😅 Oh dear.
Well, I suppose if there were absolutely no insects on the vegetables, it would be because they were full of pesticides, so I tried to think of it as a good thing that there were insects on them, but I really wish they had been washed thoroughly. Even though I tried not to look, my appetite quickly disappeared.

However, I'm the type of person who can't leave food on my plate, so even though I was so full I felt like I was going to burst, I ended up eating all of the rice too 🍚
I'll say it again, the seasoning was delicious, thank you for the meal.

This price is cheap considering it includes meals, and I understand there are cost considerations, so I can't really say anything, but I think a little renovation would make it feel cleaner.

The food is delicious. While they advertise themselves as creative, the dishes aren't gimmicky; rather, they offer classic Japanese and Western dishes, each seasoned appropriately. The flavors immediately reveal a solid foundation and excellent culinary sensibility.

The exterior wasn't as dark or intimidating as the pre-visit information suggested. It shows its age, but that can be seen as part of its character.

As the pre-visit information indicated, there's room for improvement in the cleanliness. It's not unsanitary, so it's not a problem, but it gives the impression that they simply don't bother cleaning areas where people walk with their shoes on. It's such a waste...

Also, on days when there aren't many guests, please stop putting rooms next to each other, as you can hear conversations from the next room.
