Hotel Sekia in Saga

This hotel looks like it was super nice when built at the peak of the 80's boom and hasn't been updated or renovated since. Beautiful mountaintop views from every room. Many of the facilities are kinda run down, and some are closed up and turned into solar farms. The rooms were a little worse for wear on the 6th floor, but acceptable and clean. 5th floor Japanese rooms were noticeably better. We were disappointed the pool wasn't open in late June, but Japanese school was still in so it was understandable. The dinner buffet was overpriced in my opinion. Not many other options within a 10-15 min drive though. The whole place gave me a Spirited Away vibe which could be good or bad depending. If somebody came in and renovated it, it could be super nice. Not sure it creates the revenue to do so though. It was very convenient for us since we were visiting family in Omuta. The nature in the surrounding area was awesome. Many beautiful Japanese cedar and huge bamboo forest in the hillsides leading up to the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff.

It was my first family trip in a long time, but I'm glad we were able to relax.

A very accommodating hot springs hotel that has a chapel on the premises and even bridal services. The restaurant has all you can eat crab legs and the breakfast menu is very abundant. The rooms are spacious and have beautiful views of the sunset and sunrise. Recommend it greatly for families and couples.

Comfortable environment, clean rooms, far from the city

On the mountain, there are no lights on the mountain road at night. Please pay attention to safety when driving. There is a big bathhouse, which is good. On the day of check-in, I was surprised to have fireworks. I watched the fireworks at the memorial platform at a very close distance. It was awesome, but I didn’t know it beforehand. ,Ha ha.

The hotel is located on a mountain with beautiful scenery. It has a swimming pool but I don’t have enough time. There is a hot spring. It is more convenient to take a car. The waiter only spoke Japanese when checking in, but he was very polite. Most of the guests in the hotel are Japanese and have a large family. The breakfast is rich Delicious!
