Assi House in Yufu

I like it very much. The host (both male and female) are very nice, especially the host woman is very help which helped to dry my tee. Assi the cat is really cute but has a little bit temper.
The location is excellent and I got a very good sleep. The house is really beautiful.

Overall is high satisfactory, except for two points below:-
1. There is no air-conditioning in the common area (which is I stayed in summer time), thus please consider if you can't stand with hot environment in summer time. The AC in the room is nice, so you may only stay in the room and enjoy the AC.
2. There is only 1 hot bath, the shower room is not opened. The night I stayed only have 3 guests (including me), I didn't need to wait. If there is more guests, I think it need to queue for bathing.

Not far from the station but if you have big luggage you have to drag it uphill a little bit 🥹. The street in Yufuin in the evening is very quiet and dark so recommend to get back to the place not too late.

The place was run by the very nice lady (felt like she’s a mom or granny) and Assi the cat. The room is way soooooo cute and cozy that I should stay here more than 1 night 🥹

It’s B&B style with separate house bath, shower rooms, and toilets. The place was so clean and quiet that I need to minimize my noise late at night (I’m a night owl doing this and that after midnight 😂). They also provided the pyjamas. Their garden is also well maintained.

If you drive, there is a parking space nearby, like open space (not in the B&B) so the place will not be held any responsibility to your car parking there.

cozy homestay by 5 mins walk from Yufuin station, great service with non-public onsen and breakfast included, will have to share bathroom if you don’t mind. And of course having Assi around definitely made your stay unforgettable.

I stayed with Assi for one night when I travelled to Yufuin by myself. It was a healing and relaxing experience. It felt so much like staying with your grandma in the rural side of the country.
The hotel was run by an old lady who would use translation app to introduce you to the place. She was very responsive to questions and friendly to talk to.
My stay in the Japanese style room was great, there was a heater under the table and I got gozy in my room easily. There was also doors to the garden side but it got quite cold in the morning and late night. A massage chair was also included in the room, which was perfect after the soak in the hot tub.
Even though toilets and showers were shared, they were absolutely cleaner than most of the hotels I stayed in Japan. There was a clean and comfortable scent in all the rooms of the hotel. The shower can be locked inside when it was in use so you could enjoy much privacy in it, and take your time in the hot spring. The hot spring is good and hot enough.
Breakfast is good and of a big portion. You can tell the old lady what time you want to have breakfast which allows a lot of flexibility.
Of course, Assi the cat made the stay so much worth its value😹. She was adorable and loved to play. However, she may get angry when playing too hard 😹, I guess she didn’t like me a lot coz I m a girl as well and I did not speak Japanese. Would like to learn Japanese and return for Assi 😻.

a neat and cozy place! the road to the house is a bit narrow but once you are inside you can truly relax. the hostess kept the place really neat and tidy. the location is great as well. Definitely recommend.

It is only 5-10 minutes away from the train station. The environment is quiet, the room is big enough, and the bed is wide. Each room has its own small covered terrace next to the garden, where you can enjoy breakfast and afternoon tea. Although toilets and bathrooms are shared, there are only five or six rooms, which is enough. The most important thing is that there is a free bath, so you can sleep well before going to bed. The owner can use the translation app to communicate, and even the auspicious cat, Assi, is very friendly and feels like home. It is worth staying here for a while.

It's the cutest inn. I've come to Yufuin many times because of the attention to detail. I'm determined to come here again and again. has all the cooking utensils and it seems that you can cook

I used it on my trip.
You can't enter with a 3 number car, you have to park in the parking lot in front of Yufuin Station.
Parking is cheap and it is easy to use because the inn is nearby.

The cat at the inn is also friendly and cute, and the mother takes care of me and takes good care of me.

If there is a chance to go again, I will use it.

I am satisfied with the facilities and the attentiveness of the staff, which are more than enough for poor travelers.
I was also healed by a cat.

I chose this place near the station because it was my first time and I didn't know the area. It was close to the station, breakfast, and a bakery, so sightseeing was easy. The room was comfortable and the bath on the veranda was comfortable. The owner was also kind (^ ^)
