Black Iris Hotel in Madaba

We had a wonderful stay at the Black Iris Hotel! The staff were amazing ; friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. Everything was exactly as expected, with no bad surprises.

The hotel is also very well located: not so far to the airport and perfectly situated in Madaba, which makes it much easier to visit both Jerash to the north and the Dead Sea to the south without getting stuck in Amman’s traffic.

The food was excellent — honestly better than what we had at the Hilton afterwards! I would happily stay here again without hesitation. I recommend this place to all kinds of travelers : families, couples, or solo guests , as there’s always a suitable room and a warm, personal touch.

This is the place we spent two nights in Jordan. It's very nice and clean and close to the city center with easy access to restaurants and shopping centers.

A nice hotel with lots of amenities for guests.
Excellent breakfast and a wonderful dinner for an extra fee. You can also buy beer and wine here. Just would be nice to add disposable slippers.

Really nice hotel near all the attractions in Maraba, just 5min walk from St George Church. The staff is super friendly, smiley and helpful. We felt really welcomed at this hotel.

Highly Recommend! I stayed at the Black Iris Hotel while visiting Madaba recently, and cannot say enough good things about the hotel and the staff. The hotel is conveniently located near the sook and several historical/cultural sites. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. They arranged a taxi for me to visit Mount Nebo. My stay was unexpectedly extended because of an airline error and instead of booking a hotel near the airport I returned to the Black Iris hotel for my extra nights in Jordan because I felt so comfortable at this hotel. Go and visit!

Outstanding Staff – Especially Safa One of the true highlights of my stay is always Safa, who is an absolute gem. She is incredibly professional, kind, and always goes out of her way to ensure guests feel welcome and well looked after. Her local knowledge is fantastic—she gives excellent recommendations on everything from restaurants and historical sites to day trips and transportation. Thanks to Safa, I discovered hidden local spots I wouldn’t have found on my own, and her restaurant suggestions were always spot on. She’s patient, detail-oriented, and genuinely cares about making your stay as smooth and memorable as possible. Safa’s service alone makes the Black Iris feel like a second home. Comfortable, Clean, and Quiet Rooms As always, my room was spotless, quiet, and very comfortable. The beds are cozy, the bathrooms are modern and well-maintained, and there’s a sense of peacefulness throughout the hotel that’s perfect after a day of sightseeing. Great Location The hotel is perfectly located—within easy walking distance to Madaba’s top sites like the Madaba Map at St. George’s Church, local markets, and great places to eat. It’s also a convenient base for trips to Mount Nebo, the Dead Sea, and Amman. Delicious Breakfast and a Friendly Atmosphere Each morning starts with a fresh, delicious breakfast featuring a variety of local and international options. The breakfast area is a welcoming space, and it’s easy to strike up conversations with other travelers. Excellent Value and Consistent Quality Four visits in, and I can confidently say that Black Iris Hotel offers unbeatable value. The consistent quality, fair pricing, and top-notch service—especially from Safa—make this hotel a rare find. Final Thoughts Whether it’s your first time in Madaba or your fourth, like me, I highly recommend Black Iris Hotel. It’s a place where guests are treated like family, and Safa's care and dedication are at the heart of that experience. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Good hotel with large room, plenty of hot water, body wash and shampoo provided and good and plentiful breakfast. Pleasant hotel staff. Hotel is near the centre and all its amenities. Close to the church with the mosaic. Only 30 minutes from the airport

Nice hotel, clean and tidy. Rooms were comfortable enough. Staff were very nice and gave us options of where to eat. We only stayed one night on route to Amman airport. The reasons for 4/5 is that the doors to the rooms are noisy and give a lot of echo when being opening and closed which disturbed our sleep with people coming and going.

I stayed at the Black Iris for almost one week. The staff is extremely friendly and kind. My room was spacious and clean and included a kettle. Breakfast was good and includes eggs and hot dogs for Protien. The location is great, central and close to the mall, and historical sights are mostly within a 10 minute walk. I would highly recommend Black Iris to any traveller.
