Happy Hostel in Tamga

More like a 3 room shared appartment

Pro :
-lovely friendly family
-clean

Cons:
-no sound isolation, you hear everything happening in the next room and vice versa
-shared toilet/shower room is open from the roof, if you're tall you see straight to the kitchen while showering, and the smells/sounds from the toilet arrive in seconds to the common area kitchen
-weak dropping WiFi
-the "couple" room is really just a covered mattress in an empty room
-at the time of visit the yard was an open construction site

Extra:
-unadorned breakfast: bread with jam and cooked eggs with tea/coffee

The young couple who rents their appartment is really lovely, but be prepared that more than being a hostel or hotel it's their home. If the two other rooms are occupied the couple with their small child sleeps on the small living room floor. It might feel a bit awkward if you're not used to shared homestays. If you want more privacity or isolation from sound this might not be your thing.

I had booked this place for 5 nights, and the day before check-in I enquired about a taxi which could collect me from 15 minutes away, and they informed me that they could collect me for 200som...which was fine. However, the next morning they messaged me and told me that it would cost 1,500 som ($16) - Ha ha! Unbelievable! The greed! Do you really think we are stupid!?? 2x 15 minutes jouneys for 1,500som! ...
So I cancelled my booking. Thank goodness! Very bad people indeed - and nobody wants to stay in a place with untrustworthy hosts, so my advice...obviously don't book here!!
