My feelings for this place fly a little higher than love. First, the place: you sleep in yurts on a broad beach on the southern side of Issy-Kul. The food is exceptional (vegetarians note, they like a lot of meat but there’s such an abundance you will still feast). The thermally warmed lake means you can swim comfortably beneath snow-capped Tien Shan peaks. The best thing is, there is nothing really to do. Relax for once. Read. Chat with intriguing, off-the-beaten path travellers. You won’t be bored. You will sleep better than you have in years.
My real love for the people here, however, came from me leaving my camera behind. I was in Bishkek before I knew what I’d done. Over a period of months, with tireless patience and kindness, Gulmira and Maksim arranged for the camera (with its full card of adventure pictures of my teenage kids) to reach a point where a courier could bring it to Australia. We were constantly touched by the openness and kindness of the Kyrgyz people, but in this case I was genuinely moved by their care. I hope to go back.

I stayed here for one night and enjoyed it. The yurts are clean and cosy, the food was tasty and the scenery is awesome. Plus there is a good number of bathrooms and showers and they are all very clean.

What a great yurt camp this is!
Great location, amazing scenery
Super friendly staff
Dinner was wonderful and cosy all together
Yurts were heated and very charming
The view was breathtaking
We even enjoyed an eagle show and a bondfire at night and a swim in the morning
Also really liked the Ak Say Canyon viewpoint close to the camp
Excellent experience

We stopped here for the night on our road trip. Great location by the lake, amazing for stargazing! Ak Say canyon is good for hiking. The bathrooms were great, as well as showers!

Great location. The rest is below average. Unfriendly staff. Mediocre food. Touristic rooms. Very clean restrooms and showers. One lonely umbrella at the beach. No chairs. No bar. It’s a pity the lack of exercise of the owners of this place. Lots of potential

the camp has a good location, against the Ak Say Canyon, fringed by the snowcapped Tien Shan mountains, and near to Issyk Kul shore. also, meals are tasty. shower and toilets are clean and communal. the drive towards the camp is an adventure itself. it begins from Ak Say village, through the eponymous canyon, and ends right before Issyk Kul lake shore. the journey takes around 45 min with stops. recommend timing your arrival near to sunset so that you can see amazing views in good light along the way. you do not need 4x4 to drive through the canyon in dry months like august. any high clearance car is sufficient. i was driving suv but local taxis are sedan with bigger wheels or jacked up.

One of the best experiences in Kyrgyzstan. Extremely kind people, delicious food, good prices and mainly traditional Yurt accommodation in a breathtaking canyon area near the Issyk Kul lake.

A truly beautiful day experience that I wish to you. From the view, sleeping in a yurt, delicious food and the incredibly lovely people running it.

We enjoyed our stay at Feel Nomad yurt camp very much. First time we stayed for 2 nights during our Culinary Tour. After the tour we returned for further 5 nights, because it was so great there. Part 1: During our Culinary tour in Kyrgyzstan, we had a two-night stay at Feel Nomad Yurt Camp. It is a little camp of 8 yours with additional bricked facility yurts, just 200 meters from the beach. The surrounding is amazing mid of Ak-Say Canyon. Nazgul was our chef and trainer for our cooking class. She explained us how to prepare plov, borsook, shurpa, and soup Young Bride. Mr. Ilich, her husband and the boss of the house, showed us how to make shashlyk. We enjoyed the cooking, but also the food very much. Thank you all. Part 2: After the food tour, we returned to the beach vacation for another 5 nights. The sandy/fine gravel beach is only 200 m from the campsite. There are no special facilities there, but it's almost entirely yours. The camp is nice. All yurts are new, at very good conditions and very clean. Beds are comfortable. There is a table and two chairs inside. After 8:00 p.m. there is electric light. We had a 4-bed-yurt for two of us. There was enough space. At the camp there is a shower yurt with two cabins, and a toilette yurt with two cabins (WC). Additionally, there are 5 places for washing. Everything was clean, at good condition, and proper function. Further shower cabins and toilettes are under construction. The dining yurt is big, comfortable, and clean. The food served is fresh prepared and very delicious. Nazgul is a very good cook. She and her team (actually it’s her family) take care on their guests. All members are very friendly and helpful. A great and nice family. We enjoyed being there and would come again if possible. Thank you very much.
