City Hotels Algirdas in Vilnius

I booked and paid for a room for December 31 – January 1 at the City Hotel Algirdas in Vilnius at a significantly high New Year’s Eve rate. The booking conditions stated that the reservation was non-refundable, but the date could be changed. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen emergency, we were unable to travel and informed the property immediately. After I notified the hotel, the property cancelled my reservation, and I received a cancellation confirmation. The room was resold, as availability for that day showed “sold out.” I asked the hotel to change my reservation date, which should have been allowed under the stated conditions. However, the property refused to change the date, even though the same room in January was priced at nearly three times less than what I had already paid. No alternative or fair solution was offered. Following this experience, I submitted an honest and factual review on the *********** platform describing what happened. However, the review has not been published, and I have not received any explanation as to why.
