There is no noise in the room You need to bring your own toiletries, there is no toothbrush/paste or soap here The shower in my room was damaged, it was impossible to switch the mode and use a regular shower head

Like 100 years ago Ideal location, in the heart of the most beautiful street in Georgetown, with many cafes and souvenir shops around. Lots of tourists, busy traffic

Also, there was no canopy over the bed, I was a little disappointed that it was not like in the photo in the description. Everything is generally ok for the money

As the hotel is located in the middle of the heritage site, you're never far away from food, shopping, gorgeous architecture and all the charming murals dotted all over the area

The owner is Chinese. The location is very good and very unique. Except for the poor soundproofing, there are always elderly people chatting at night.

Sleeping in the center of the scenic area, it takes only 10 minutes to walk to the famous check-in spots. You can start the city walk as soon as you get up😁 Sleeping in a century-old building is also a great experience~

everythings is good except we found a rat inside our living rooms looking for foods 😅 i think it came from the toilet , and the toilet door has a huge gap so i think it got tru the door, but outside the hotel is beautiful like bali

Sitting in the restaurant, feeling the sea breeze, listening to music, watching the sunset, and just relaxing – it's incredibly comfortable! The room is also great, very spacious with a super comfy bed

The 'Yixie' restaurant right opposite is incredibly delicious – highly recommend it! The place is so clean you can walk barefoot, and they even clean twice a day! Plus, they offer turndown service, which was a pleasant surprise! Breakfast is a la carte, which is a great system

Attentive front office willing to spend time sharing the city with you. I like the turn-down service and the little surprises each evening, could be a local cookies or a traditional little souvenir

The kids especially loved the pool! It’s wonderfully quiet despite being close to everything – a 7-Eleven, restaurants, and a shopping center are all nearby

The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to recommend local food and attractions. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the little Christmas gift was such a thoughtful touch

We booked for two days and ended up extending for another four! Everyone, from the kids to the grandparents, was absolutely delighted! It truly felt like a cozy home away from home

One of the most enjoyable stays I've had in long time. The East Indies Mansion is beautifully renovated and the elegant decor and atmosphere were truly enjoyable

The Nutmeg room, despite not having windows, was spacious and comfortable. The only downside was that the Wi-Fi connection was not very steady or fast

Finally, we loved learning the history of the founder of the house Koh Lay Huan and his role in the early development of Georgetown. Truly a unique experience to stay in a little part of history

We switched rooms on the second night, and the AC there was good. Overall, the water pressure in the shower was a bit low, but the towels and bedding were clean

Hotel is located in quiet place. Convenient to go anywhere in Georgetown. We enjoyed beer and meal at Japanese style restaurant attached to the hotel.

It's located near a mosque, so you'll easily hear the calls to prayer

Nice hotel located in the old town heritage district. Was very clean, but noisy at night, it sounded like there was a night club near by.

Don't expect things like a pool or cafe - just very friendly service and a unique location. Great cafes and restaurants very close. We would definitely stay again if in the area

It was a very room that we got and a lot of character. It was also good not having any TV in the room. Really great location in Georgetown Heritage area. Only downside is poor sound proofing

The sound coming from the top floor room is really loud. Also the stairs to the upper floor are very steep and unsafe for the elder having difficulty walking

Everything is great! The host is so accommodative and very helpful. He also recommended places to go while at Penang. The amenities were all provided. It is walkable distance to chew jetty, penang street arts and more

The only small suggestion for improvement: it might be time to renew the towels, as they look a bit gray from long use. Otherwise, everything was great and we enjoyed our stay very much

We really appreciated the bathrobes, plenty of towels, slippers, and the full set of hygiene amenities, everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided

-Some equipment like hanging bar drop off easily which require repair and maintenance -first time staying in hotel that provide bucket for foot soak which was very thoughtful, however the bucket probably has hole and water keep leaking

The facilities felt a bit retro, and there's no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up ourselves. However, the hygiene and bedding were very clean and comfortable

Cozy place with everything you need nearby. There's a well-equipped kitchen and a place to store luggage. The room was clean, but the towels should be replaced. Good Wi-Fi.

It was my first trip to penang with my friends and it was the great stay. The service was on the top and the self check in system was so convenient for us. the room was a bit small and ceiling was low but so cozy to stay

Staying at Gurney was incredibly quiet (my parents said they heard prayer calls in the morning which startled them a bit, but I didn't hear anything, haha)

The water pressure in the bathroom was a bit low, and the attic really just fit one bed. But overall, it's excellent value for money

The receptionist is also very friendly, be sure to ask him for local food recommendations as he is a local Penangite! The toilets and shower area are very clean, though there are some mosquitoes that can cause a nuisance

Located at the end of Love Lane, the 80s guesthouse has just gone over a recent refurbishment to make the place look stylish and yet maintain that vintage charm of a house when people were still living in it

The place boasts plenty of sunlight in the daytime which makes it very comfortable to relax in the common area

If there’s a feedback I could give about this property, it would be to add towel hooks in the dorms/rooms, provide bathroom slippers, add curtains to the dorm bunk beds, free coffee/tea, and perhaps provide a proper functioning water dispenser with cold water— as these are basic amenities every hostel should have
