Elegant, relaxed, spacious, well designed & decorated, huge suites & wonderful bathrooms.

This historic building is amazing.

Start your day after a restful sleep with a simple yet delicious breakfast at Christoph’s restaurant which is on the ground floor.

Then take a look at the on-site Gehrig Art Gallery.

After that, grab a juice or coffee from any of the many great local cafes & sit on the front veranda watching the world pass by.

The highlight of staying here is definitely the presence of our wonderful host, Ruby…she is the best person to know in town.

Full of helpful tips & useful information. Nothing is too much trouble & best of all, is her infectious laughter & joy of life.

This place feels like you are staying at a good friends place.

Enjoy & thank you Ruby 🙏

This is a gem of a boutique hotel tucked away in the middle of heritage George Town. Beautifully decorated, spacious rooms and friendly staff. Very pleased we chose Coffee Atelier

My friends and I had a lovely stay at Coffee Atelier. Ruby gave us a very warm welcome and was always happy to help and give sightseeing tips. Thank you Ruby! The rooms in our suite were clean, comfortable and well-decorated, making us feel like we were going back in time (in a good way). The air-conditioning and WiFi worked perfectly. We also liked the spacious bathroom. Our room rate also came with a delicious American breakfast prepared freshly: scrambled or fried eggs, sourdough and toasted bread with butter, cornflakes or muesli, yoghurt or fresh fruits, orange juice and black coffee or tea.

The location was perfect as it was within walking distance to street food and other parts of Georgetown.

While this was not an issue for us, the staircase leading up to the first floor suite is narrow and steep, so keep this in mind if you have heavy suitcases or have mobility issues. They do, however, have downstairs suites if I remember correctly.

We loved our stay at Coffee Atelier. This is one of those hotels that stays long in your memory as it is so original and quaint. We had one of the ground floor suites which included a study, bedroom and outdoor courtyard with toilet and shower cubicles as well as a 'garden area'. The space had beautiful furniture, was well equipped and spotlessly clean. We received a very warm welcome from Ruby who was very helpful throughout. We also very much enjoyed our breakfasts at Christoph's next door. This is a true gem.

My friend and I had a lovely stay at Coffee Atelier. It’s run by a very nice woman, with help from her sister. The building is well-kept and beautifully painted. It’s very clean. We had an upstairs suite: 2 bedrooms with a large bathroom. The AC worked very well. It’s perfectly located in China Town, close to Little India. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Breakfast was nice, too. The bed was super comfortable. We loved it here! Highly recommend!

What a lovely boutique hotel. We loved staying in the centre of George Town. The room was on the ground floor in an old shop house that's been done up but still gives the feel of a shop house with the decor.
Don't expect things like a pool or cafe - just very friendly service and a unique location.
Great cafes and restaurants very close. Street art down the road too.
We would definitely stay again if in the area.

What can we say about this place. Amazing staff and fantastic rooms. Large and spacious bedroom and bathroom. Really comfortable beds and good breakfast. Ruby the front of house manager was exceptional and could not do enough for us both and was really great at recommending places to visit. If you are staying in an upstairs room I would say stairs are steep and narrow. If you have no mobility issues then it is completely fine and no issue but be aware that if you do then this could be an issue.

First of all, I have to say that the manager of the property was extremely kind; she was really helpful in every situation. This hotel is located inside a colonial-style house. The room is spacious and clean, although the bathroom and shower are located in the adjacent courtyard. Breakfast is good and plentiful. Highly recommended.

Excellent. Lovely old building with comforts rooms. The upstairs rooms might be a challenge if you have mobility difficulties due to the old stairs.

**A charming apartment in a vibrant neighborhood, offering an immersive cultural experience.** The location is excellent, making it an ideal choice for those looking to soak in the local culture. The apartment itself is cozy, and the host is welcoming and friendly. However, this is not a five-star luxury stay, so guests should set their expectations accordingly. One important consideration—if you’re assigned a first-floor room, be prepared to carry your luggage up narrow wooden stairs. While this adds to the property’s character, it may be challenging for those with heavy bags or mobility concerns. Overall, a great option for travelers seeking an authentic local experience.

A small coffee shop offering casual food, including western fast food for the local and tourists around that area.

Nice cheap place. I had a full English for 5.50 Rm and coffee was 2 Rm. Oddly, you order and pay for drinks and food separately. I will try a local dish next time

Hokkien Mee is very tasty, with spicy shrimp broth, 2 kinds of noodles, and crispy onion topping. 5 ringits for a nice meal. Nutmeg juice was refreshing.

This is a good coffee shop to have local food like hokkien mee, curry mee, wanton mee, char away teow. The food is authentic and tasty even though it's not mentioned our popular sites I.e. Tripadvisor etc. A large local crowd here testifies its good food.

Took breakfast. Order set "bread and beverage" set. Service was so slow, and food came "one item at a time" instead of a whole set.

Went for the pastas. Ordered 5 different ones for my family of 4 kids and 2 adults. The pastas were really good. Could really taste the spices and the tomatoes in there. The risoto were increadible. The flavour just seem to stick on the rice. We were told by the owner, it was cooked using "Abborio rice". This cafe really put some restaurants who claimed they are italian to shame. You can't go wrong with a cafe that really used saffron as one of the ingredients. The owner even showed us the saffron. Expensive stuff!. Pasta must try!!!.
