If you want to stay in a real heritage place, then this hotel is an excellent choice. Clean rooms, high ceilings, wooden floors, comfort and cosiness. Near is nice place for breakfast

An old Chinese tea house setting converted into a 11 bedroom hotel for travellers looking forward to a cozy stay in ipoh.

This building is an amazingly restored heritage building. My loft was fantastic. If you don't like to be a lively area with traffic noise, or don't like to climb stairs (no lift) this is not your place. I personally had no problem with it, i loved the historic feel of the place. Close to all kinds of cafes, restaurants, kopitiams for food lovers. Little India around the corner, New Town 15 min. walk away for more food and shopping. Location always beats amenities for me and for me this was it. Though amenities really good too. Would stay here again, if only for the lovely and helpful staff, and the restaurant next door.

I have no idea why this place is rated so well. The standouts of my stay were the awful hygiene and non-existent sound proofing.

The toiletry container had heaps of beard hair all over the toiletries. One of the tea cups had not one but two giant lipstick marks on it.

The windows were useless when it came to sound insulation. I was in the room facing away from the main street yet I could still hear traffic noise and definitely the call to prayer from the nearby mosque at 5am in the morning.

Would not recommend a stay here to other travellers.

It's antique and has a unique charm. Unfortunately, there's no staff open the door between 5:00 and 8:00, which seems a bit user-friendly. We bought tickets for the 9:00 PM train and wanted to store our luggage after checking out, but they couldn't enter between 5:00 and 8:00, which was a bit inconvenient.

Great place, beautiful place, great location. Just that it’s a little noisy as the room is facing the Main Street. So it can get very noisy. Not recommended for light sleeper. Everything else is great.

Good location, walking distance to the sights. Friendly staff

The temperature of the air conditioner cannot be adjusted. After a reaction, it actually said that the temperature of the air conditioner needs to be adjusted by 30°C. It was okay, but after staying for two nights, I came home with a cold. The room was not cleaned the next day, and the towels and bath towels were not changed. The overall feeling was not good😞

Our stay over the weekend was great despite a check-in issue at the reception. The location is 600m away from the train station and accessible to places of interest and restaurants on foot. The room we stayed was Kingfisher 1. It’s a semi-half floor layout where the double bed is upstairs and a small sitting area and bathroom downstairs. We’ve stayed this room for the third time. The room was very clean but we wish the tv program will be upgraded from local broadcast to streaming services when we visit next. Overall, this place is always our favorite choice to stay in Ipoh.

The curry is alright. Opted for the dry one. The curry soup is more popular. They also serve a special coffee with a shot of alcohol.

Don't feel and taste it special here comparing others...

Ah Chow (亚洲) Coffee Shop recently had a brand new sign board fixed in Nov. 2016. A sign of good times. I would recommend the curry mee and the wonton mee stalls here. Good value for money. Also the coffee served here ranks among the best along Leech Street (Jalan Bandar Timah). Don't forget to try the wonderful nasi lemak (wrapped in banana leaves) supplied by a free lance Malay chef. It's good that the food stalls of the coffee shops in this section of Old Town allow cross border trade. Meaning food can be ordered & delivered from any of the surrounding shops, except drinks.

Meals are pleasant and cooked fresh. But very hot inside.

Really good food, fresh and tender. However there is no menu, they can't speak English and customer service is very direct, no smiley welcome etc.
We ordered chicken rice with spring onions which was delicious and I am sure that if you know more about Chinese food or can speak Chinese you can order more interesting things.

Classic strong wok taste ?

Finally, get to eat at this shop. Food were good and cheap if you order just one meat and rice on small plate. They only serve tea but it was cheap

The place is pretty clean and the food is good.I would say 1 of the best Indian restaurants around. The service was fine especially this 1 waiter.Money well spent.

Not as friendly as the nasi Kandar places... The one staff who spoke a bit of English was very helpful (and of course, friendly).

The food was okay at best. Didn't fill is up and the taste was a bit off.
At the end we were almost overcharged since the other staff wrote the incorrect order, but that was resolved.
The price is higher than other places with flavor that could use much improvement.

Very poor service, no one wiped the table, all the waiters were more keen in hanging around and chatting. No one took orders after some time and calling the waiters, we walked out left, 10 of us. No one bothered to ask why and stop us.

One of the best places to go to for delicious & very affordable Indian food. Love the Naan bread with tandoori chicken. The banana leaf rice is yummy too. ?

Food is good, but service is not up to par
