During our stay at the Ari Grand Hotel on the Maldives Local Island of Dhangethi, I was thoroughly impressed by the warm welcome and high level of customer service demonstrated by all members of staff. The hotel is situated just a minute walk from the bikini tourist beach on one side of the island and a few minutes walk to the seafront restaurants and cafes on the other side of the island. The rooms were modern and spacious with balconies offering magnificent views!
Cooked breakfast items are different every day but there is always cereal, fruit and bread available . We enjoyed a complimentary evening buffet with a mix of Maldivian dishes.
Ari Grand Hotel offer a variety of in-house excursions. We took part in the Whale Shark trip and were lucky enough to see and swim alongside one. Everything about the trip was excellent and with just 1 other person joining us, we had a great time!
Staying on local islands represents real value for money whilst also supporting the local economy. Yes there’s no alcohol served on the island (it is against the religion) and you must be respectful in what you wear but these have no impact upon us. We already wear uv protection clothing so had full access to all beaches.
The local population are incredibly welcoming and pleased for tourists to visit the island. I highly recommend Ari Grand Hotel and hope you too might consider local islands to visit what is simply, paradise!

A decent hotel. The rooms may be small, which I think is typical of all the local islands. The renovations are good, the breakfasts are decent, and the beach is close by. The water pressure is good, and drinking water is provided daily.
The island is very Instagrammable, so there's plenty to photograph.
I didn't really like the grass in the water on the beach, and the fact that there wasn't much to offer for dinner at the hotel. However, there are good restaurants by the water.
Overall, I recommend both the island and the hotel 👍

My hubby and I stayed at the Ari Grand for two weeks. Of course, the island was glorious and the sea life and water activities put smiles on everyone's faces.The things that impressed me most though about the hotel was their willingness to ensure that you had everything you needed. The rooms were clean and comfortably appointed and the food was yummy.There wasn't anything that the staff wouldn't happily accommodate. The hotel manager Odey made a point of making everyone welcome. It was really home from home. Highly recommended!

This hotel was an amazing stay! The island of Dhangethi is beautiful and peaceful. All staff here were super friendly and helpful (especially Deepa😅), always with a smile on their face and it made the time even more enjoyable. There’s plenty of excursions to do, and all of the ones I did were so much fun. The speedboat to Dhangethi is also easy to find, and as soon as we got off the boat we were greeted by staff who were also so helpful and friendly. Overall this has been a great trip and I would really recommend this as a place to stay if you’re considering a trip to a local island in the Maldives.

Had an amazing stay at the Ari Grand. We were there for ten days. We booked junior suites with ocean views. The rooms were super comfortable, clean and had amazing views. We were provided with water and room tidying every day by a friendly gentleman from housekeeping. Towels were changed every other day. Breakfast was simple but tasty with about a four day cycle.
We arranged several excursions with the hotel and they were all excellent. O Dey is the manager and he works hard to ensure you are comfortable and satisfied. There was a period of several days where the whale sharks were not sighted and while other excursions were going boats and seeing no whale sharks O Dey waited til there was a better chance for a successful trip to send a boat. And sure enough we saw a whale shark. O Dey is more interested in pleasing his guests than just making money.
The real highlight of our stay was the staff. O Dey was always available. Everyone was so friendly and always a smile. Deepa and Vamshi attend to the front desk. But they do so much more. They are so helpful. With lots of information and always willing to help out with great tips to help you enjoy the hotel and the island. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and greatly appreciated everything they did to make our trip so memorable!!!

The hotel was nice and they did a good job of offering services and helping with transfers from the airport. Vamshee at the front desk did an excellent job of helping us when our plans changed. The room was clean and had hot water in the bathroom. It's pretty good for being as isolated as it is.

My first trip to the Maldives was truly unforgettable! Staying at Ari Grand Hotel was a wonderful choice — it’s so close to Dhangethi Beach that we could enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets every day. We were amazed by the magical glow of tiny organisms plankton, and special thanks to Odey for showing us, we had incredible adventures like swimming with nurse sharks, manta rays, turtles, and even scuba diving. A big thank you to Odey for making these moments so special — his kind heart and support turned this journey into cherished memories. “Thank you!, Odey and hotel staff for everything—from the warm welcome drink to the unforgettable surprise dinner.”

30 seconds from bikini beach. Great location but what stood out was the service! Ode, the hotel manager went out of his way to make sure everything was better than perfect. We got a room upgrade to sea view rooms.
Beach dinner was the highlight of our trip.
We did almost all the excursions. The food spread is amazing. A solid 10/10 experience.
