I was really looking forward to this trip, but the weather wasn't kind. It rained for three days straight, with not even a single sunny day. Even the water bungalows had bugs, so be careful. The drinking water was full of bugs overnight (the bottle cap was closed at night). I don't know how the bugs got in, so I just boiled the water afterwards. It was a bit of a shame.

The water villa with a pool that I stayed in was newly renovated and had relatively new facilities. The best thing about Baros Island is the excellent snorkeling environment! You can see all kinds of fish and swim with small sharks.

The room was clean and the balcony faced the sea, offering a wide, unobstructed view. Being on the 7th floor was very comfortable. The room was absolutely satisfying – quite spacious with a large and comfortable double bed. The sea view from the balcony was excellent. This hotel is great, especially if you're traveling with friends or family. You can't go wrong choosing this one in Maafushi. The hygiene and facilities are excellent, and the environment is simply beautiful. The beach and swimming area are right downstairs. The food is pretty good too. Highly recommended.

Wonderful resort. I went here with my husband and our daughter. We stayed in the water villa which was huge. We spent 8 days here. They provided us 3 bicycles for our villas. We biked to the restaurants, to swim at the beach, to do snorkeling. The coral at this resort was incredible. There were many kinds of coral and also huge corals. We weren’t really sure if we were going to get on holiday this year as our flights were being changed every day up to the departure date. Amazing island all the staff were so friendly, you could walk out of your beach bungalow and swim with the black tipped reef sharks and so much marine life, we swam with turtles, rays and sharks right on our doorstep.

Lovely warm welcome as we arrived on the island and from then on nothing was too much trouble! We had a very comfortable beach room over looking the sea with direct access to the water. (There is an infinity pool but we never bothered with it because the sea was so beautiful!) We stayed at Komandoo in January 2026 and it was a truly wonderful vacation that left nothing to be desired. Not only was our Beach Villa stunning, but the entire resort is thoughtfully laid out with great attention to detail - such a beautiful and relaxing environment.
