I do not recommend staying here.
I felt unsafe from the moment I arrived due to a complete lack of security and organization. Guests openly discussed and sold dr*gs, entry to the building and rooms was uncontrolled, and multiple unauthorized individuals were staying without paying. One person slept there for days before staff noticed, and when I arrived there was no bed available for me until another non-paying person was removed.
Despite claims of on-site staff, no security was enforced. Guests reported outsiders entering rooms for sex, with bathrooms commonly.
After checkout, I returned briefly to retrieve a forgotten item and found all doors open and rooms accessible, entering and leaving without any staff noticing—confirming the serious lack of security.
I talked with Airbnb but they also didn't care. So don't waste your time or money.

DO NOT COME HERE. I couldn’t even stay the night, I had to go book a hotel nearby. The smell, the filth, the safety all felt so off. I am an experienced female solo traveler and could not do this. I do not recommend. I immediately felt unsafe and knew I needed to leave.

An incredible experience at Hostel On
From the moment I arrived, I felt at home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are super friendly and always ready to help with a smile. The facilities are clean, well-maintained, and stylish. I loved the vibe of the place—relaxed, yet full of positive energy. Perfect for meeting people, sharing stories, and getting some quality rest. Definitely a place to come back to!

Very disappointing stay – serious hygiene and security concerns
I strongly advise future travelers to think twice before booking here.
During my stay in Room 4, Bed 36, the guest next to me had an extremely unpleasant odor, possibly due to foot fungus, which made it very difficult to sleep. The strong smell was overwhelming and concerning, especially considering shared showers. On top of that, his alarm went off early and rang until it woke the entire room, adding to an already sleepless night after a long journey.
In the morning, I witnessed another guest clipping his nails at the dining table – a very unhygienic behavior, especially in a shared eating area. I raised this with him and a staff member noticed as well, but no action was taken.
The downstairs bathroom had a strong sewage smell, which made it uncomfortable to use. Additionally, security is a major concern here. Room doors and the front entrance are often left open, and there is no 24-hour staff present, meaning anyone could potentially walk in unnoticed.
Overall, I had a very unpleasant experience and would not recommend this hostel to others, especially those looking for cleanliness, quiet, and safety

We booked this hostel a few months in advance. We got a few confirmation emails to confirm this booking and called them several times. When we came to the hostel to check in, they told us that they didn’t know we booked the hostel. We couldn’t stay there and had to find a different accommodation on the day of arrival. Nice start of the vacation!
The hostel staff was very nice and handled this situation with care. The owners, however, didn’t answer their phone and didn’t do anything to solve the problem that they caused. According to some locals, this has happened multiple times before.

I decided to stay for a month in Hostel Jones, because i had to relocate in Malta. I have seen the birth and development of the house, from the very first month. The actual idea and location is imperfect as the Maltese life is on itself. The life in Malta is in my opinion one of the best, if not the best life, anyone can be lucky to live. Hostel Jones is the epitome of exactly that, (Malta). It is all about the people and the actual magical energy and aura, it creates in them. Be ready for stunning and mesmerizing Art, done buy amazing artists and travelers all around the world, modeling a sharing, respecting, helping, laughing, happy, creative, and communicative family. Hostel Jones is a real Hostel. Not fake, like one of these modern reception with hospital dorms, sterilized to its nudity. People talk to each other, eat with each other, sleep with each other and giving big hugs to each other. Not a simple place to sleep, just because you are passing by on the little rock. Hostel Jones is alive and a its value, turns off the tv or smartphone and makes you open a book. Make sure you do not miss the privilege, experiencing the world of Hostel Jones.

A Hippie Hostel. Not clean and quiet but very uncomplicated. The staff is awesome, more than friendly and it was a lot of fun becoming a "Jones"

Best Hostel in Malta.. Friendly stuff, clean rooms and bathrooms and most of all you get the chance to relax and steam off your mind.. I would personally recommended to everyone who wants to stay in Malta...
