The room was clean and tidy, and the hotel breakfast was more extensive than what you'd find in Paris. Getting around with Uber was also very convenient.

This is one of the top-rated resorts on the island, and the environment is excellent. We stayed during the Chinese New Year, and the front desk even upgraded our room! Although the bathroom facilities are a bit older due to the resort's age, everything is incredibly well-maintained. The outdoor pool is also heated, which is a very thoughtful touch! Great hotel - however we experienced an accident in the pool that led to an Emegerncy room visit. The accident could have easily been avoided if proper safety measures at the pool (for children) would have been in place = a foam protection underneath the bridge of the pool as stickers “mind your head” Are not readable or useful for children l.

Overall it was good There was a good selection for breakfast but the hot food was always cold. This was a really lovely hotel. The breakfast was buffet style, and everything was delicious, with a few different items offered each day. The staff were very kind, and they helped make my trip a comfortable and memorable one. While buses are the main mode of transport in Malta, the bus stop was only a few minutes' walk from the hotel, which was quite convenient.

Good value for money and a delicious breakfast. It was my boyfriend's birthday, and they even brought us a bottle of champagne to celebrate! The front desk staff were also very helpful.

The view is currently unbeatable; the balcony is spacious with a panoramic view of the vast Mediterranean Sea, and the bedding is very comfortable with soft pillows. The indoor swimming pool is especially cozy and warm.

The sea view is nice, but that's all. The price is 200 euros a night, the room is average, the breakfast is generally okay but not very tasty and messy. The service is almost non-existent, and the front desk service attitude is average. But all hotels abroad are like this, so I can give it a 4 point overall

Malta is a very special place in the world for me. This hotel is perfectly situated on the very edge of the shore, in the face of the ultimate blue Mediterranean sea.

A beautiful hotel, built in the 1940s, in the great British colonial style, like the Raffles hotel in Singapore or the Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe. The interior is elegant. The service was remarkably warm, helpful and attentive. The overall experience was outstanding, even compared to other five star hotels.

Beautiful property and exceptional service in a brilliant location. There is nothing I can fault. We had an Executive room with balcony and although it was quite small, it had every convenience possible. Our room (430) had views either way when on the balcony. Got it all ! Simply put, its one of the classic elegant properties in the heart of the old city, but peace and quite once you get into the hotel. Sleima and itis next to sea front

Hydra spa is relaxing. There are two pools one in a garden setting and one by the sea - each have their own charm.

This is not 4 star. we have been going to Malta for the last 10 years and this is the worst hotel we have stayed in. Apparently they are closing it next year according to the holiday rep and this would make sense as the rooms needed updating and the food needs improving. The front of house staff were not very friendly. The location is lovely and the cleaning staff were brilliant.

The place is closing soon for a major and much needed refurbishment. Let's hope it returns as one of the best hotels in Malta when it re-opens in 2020.

Staying here is like stepping back in time. Boutique hotel located in a former bastion where the rooms are large and well appointed. Staff was engaged and friendly. Location is superior for exploring Bormla. Ferry to Valletta was so easy to get to just a 5 minute walk. We will stay here again.
