InterContinental Malta by IHG, St Julians1 / 46

Absolutely loved my stay at the InterContinental Malta as an IHG One Rewards member. The staff were consistently friendly, polite, and genuinely helpful. Our original room was on the noisier side, and the team happily moved us to a quieter garden view room on a higher floor for a small additional fee. Breakfast was included and served daily in the Opal Lounge, which made mornings especially relaxing...
This place is amazing but the air con is a massive per down. It doesn't blow cold. Always hit regardless of setting, you can't leave balcony open because it's Malta it's busy all night. We had to ask for fans. Edit, I don't think we would ever return here due to the elevator situation. You are frequently waiting upto 15 minutes just to get into a lift. There's 3 lifts for the hotel that reach the...
We had a lovely family stay at the IHG Malta hotel and really enjoyed our vacation. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, making them ideal for a family stay. Breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of fresh options for everyone. The staff provided friendly, professional service throughout our stay and made us feel very welcome. Overall, it’s a great hotel for both business and...
The room facilities are complete, the hotel is clean and comfortable, and the front desk reception staff are warm and thoughtful
good location, nice staff, nice swimming pool nice stay for 2 nights
First time in Malta and not just a great location to explore from but an amazing hotel stay too! From the moment we stepped in the, the staff were always pleasant and always helpful. Sopo, at breakfast ensured we had what we needed and Mina was fast to offer her assistance! Pradeep would make sure we were satisfied with our food and always took care to tell us what was where. I would definitely not rate this hotel as 5star, expected a little luxury but was very disappointed. Room was spacious but looked more like a 3 star travelodge very dated with basic amenities. Shower was far from a power shower with cheap shower curtain. Loose floor tiles without grouting. Phone had obviously fallen of at some point and just plastered back on with paint. Light didn't always work...
We stayed one week at the hotel Excelsior at the end of November, and I have no words to express my gratitude to everyone who made our stay such a wonderful experience! From the reception team, the young, tall doorman who always paid special attention to our 3-year old boy, the cleaning staff, to the restaurant crew — everyone was welcoming, helpful, and genuinely polite. Our suite was so spacious...
We stayed here for four nights during our trip to Malta, and it’s safe to say that while this hotel may have been five stars last century, it’s surely not worthy of that ranking now. Firstly, we arrived and we had booked two rooms online, but the hotel couldn’t find our reservations (or had some error where our reservations were under a different name) for over half an hour. It wasn’t a great start...
We read so many mixed reviews on this Hotel on the Jet2 app. We had a wonderful stay at this Hotel and were not disappointed with anything ,Every member of staff was 1st class, were so welcoming and friendly ,The food was 1st class,The Hotel was spotless and the rooms were huge ,Yes the hotel is not ultra modern but the style of the Hotel is in keeping with the area ,Modern would not be right, We...
It is a very nice property. View to the harbor and poll are beautiful, and the traditional design of the hotel very impressive. Unfortunately, service is not high quality. We put the sign to clean the room on the door in the morning, and had it cleaned late afternoon. Even simple items were forgotten to be replaced in the room, such as soap, hand towel, etc. Their restaurant menu is not very diverse...

Upama made my hotel stay unforgettable—warm smile, quick help and super professional. She’s an asset to the hotel. 10/10 would book again!
I recently stayed at the Westin Dragonara in Malta and had a mixed experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and offers true 5-star amenities. The property is well maintained, the breakfast buffet was very nice with a good variety, and the location is excellent—close to nightlife, restaurants, and entertainment. Having the casino right next door is also a plus for those who enjoy that. However, the...
The staff in particular are so pleasant, helpful, and efficient, in all areas they created the right atmosphere. The half board option worked well for us and the food quality was often remarkable. Rooms, both garden and sea view, were very comfortable, clean and spacious. My elderly parents loved the hotel and the high quality 13m indoor pool/sauna/steam/jacuzzi. We also found the gym excellent and...
Facilities: Well-equipped, much more so than other international hotels! Cleanliness: Very clean! This hotel is smoke-free! Thumbs up! Environment: Convenient location with many great restaurants nearby! Service: Patient and attentive service!
The hotel is nicely located, close to the sea and close to the centre of St. Julian‘s. The rooms are spacious and clean, the staff are more than helpful and friendly. The food at the restaurant was eccellent; the breakfast, too. If we really had to find something that could be improved, it would be the noise level during breakfast. The room where you have breakfast has lovely wide windows which allow...
This is a beautiful hotel, perfectly located in the St Julian's area filled with great shops and restaurants. The rooms are spotless, stylish, and very tastefully decorated. Lovely hotel with friendly staff. We bought the day pass for the pool which was perfect for experiencing the pool and bridging the gap before our flight. Would definitely come back to stay here!
Rooms are clean, large and comfortable, service is fantastic, beautiful hotel. Of the restaurants, the Rooftop Bar was the best for dinner- they were outstanding service, drinks and food. The Temptasian restaurant was not quite the atmosphere described - food was good but they seated us at a table right near the kitchen without good ventilation and made it feel like a sauna then a restaurant. A must-stay in Malta. Three days ago we checked into of one of the best hotels my fiancee and I have ever stayed in. The standard and attention to detail is top quality. Housekeeping have been outstanding, bar staff and restaurant staff have been incredible and the concierge...
Just returned from a stay at this hotel which was an amazing experience. Staff are all welcoming and friendly. The staff will do everything to make your stay enjoyable. Their restaurant has lovely food and again staff will make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation. Very special place
Lovely hotel with excellent facilities. Lovely large rooms with balconies, mini fridge and great amenities in the bathroom. Good service at all bars and friendly staff throughout. My only suggestion would be on the Saturday grill night. The photos promoting this event portray a grill with an amazing looking cut of meat. The reality is that it’s a buffet and all the meats are in heated chargers, coated...
I had the nicest experience here. I stayed for a week for a work event and the staff were just so pleasant and friendly. One chap from the desk in particular helped carry my bags to the cab (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name!) but I left feeling very impressed by everyone there and the entire place. The location is in the heart of Saint Julian's, very close to the beach. It's ideal for those looking to spend a summer vacation and enjoy the sun. The location is great, close to the beach and restaurants. The breakfast was tasty and with lots of variety. The only downside is the proximity to bars and nightclubs, which can get quite loud at night.
Beautiful hotel, conveniently located close to the beach. Lovely area and hotel staff are providing excellent service .
Good location,friendly staff.
In the mall, this price is set at the Hyatt Bar next to it. The breakfast environment is very average.
Stay was very good, staff was super kind and quick to react. Worth the money and the outdoor pool is gorgeous. Their breakfasts are good too! Wish they dealt with mold in our room, wasn’t very bad but it was a bit concerning, so look out for that (the only reason I gave the place 4 stars)
Location is great if you love nightlife. If you are older, then you definitely need your ear plugs. Lovely small beach but then all the beaches are small here in Malta. You can get buses to all the places of interest from St Julian.

Another wonderful stay in what is firmly becoming my favourite Marriott hotel in Europe. Following a 4 night stay in August 2024 we returned for a 6 night stay in September 2025. We stayed here as a family (my husband, our baby, and I) and I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever experienced. Vivaldi is my favourite composer, and the hotel did justice to his name. I enjoyed my stay as it exceeded my expectations. Staff were great. Jununu at front desk also helped to secure breakfast on the go as I had to check out at 530 am (sadly) as I would have stayed longer in Malta. Gym 4/5 - with free weights, cable machine and dumbbells, can do a pretty good workout. Sauna 3/5 - an extra €6 to use. Breakfast 4-5/5 - excellent, best breakfast, plenty of variety, even some Maltese dishes. Beach - St George’s Bay beach is nearby but not that nice.
The staff where both welcoming and helpful. Especially the cleaning staff who did a very good job cleaning my room. I very much liked the fact that they have both an ice machine and vending machine. Nice hotel with very friendly personel. My room was spacious and clean but facing the wall and therefore dark at all times, it was also hard to get fresh air in. Breakfast good but could be better. Pool and sauna areas are very poor, very small and not really mantained good. When I tried to use sauna the floor was flooded from shower and there is nowhere you can sit/lie down/put your belongings.
Pretty much spot on. Location, staff, convenience was 10/10. The best thing was the view from the rooftop though, great place to gather your thoughts and relax!
Beautiful located new hotel in Silema. Staff helpful & friendly. Breakfast lovely. Near ferries for Valetta & bus routez across IIsland.
The hotel is about 200 meters from the bus stop, with plenty of restaurants downstairs, and a bar across the street that always has a long queue to get in. The hotel faces the sea with a great view and has a rooftop pool. The rooms are very soundproofed, with almost no street noise. The only downside is the poor quality toilet paper; they could replace it.
Location is near the ferry terminal to get to Valletta . To arrive from airport take Direct bus 3 , bus stop is near the hotel. Rooms with sea view are nice . Partial sea view is facing the high building just in front so take the highest floor. Breakfast is average
The restaurant is run by Indians, but the service is very good, and the facilities in the house are also very in line with Chinese habits (compared to European hotels). There is a large balcony in the house, where you can enjoy the sea view + sunset with your partner, leaving very good memories!

Took a deluxe room which wasn't. No cupboards no drawers no towel hooks three small open shelves only. Small safe on floor that could be picked up and removed no bath mat. Plaster falling from wall. A bit disappointed to be honest as it was expensive. Nice view though.
Wonderful location at the sea/harbor with pool and own swimming location in front of the hotel. Was not to noisy. Of course you hear some music and traffic from the coastal road. Rooms and hotel is a little aged but okay. AC on level seven had to work hard against sun from rooftop and windows but great views!
Good location to get around the city with lots of restaurants around. Clean room with marina view and not loud at night. Hard to find room near the pool/sea area. Staff could improve on English, breakfast was repetitive, I would suggest a replacement of the lift as it was very hot and takes about a minute before the doors opened.
The room is clean and with a great view. The breakfast is very good with friendly chefs making any eggs you want. You have to be early to the pool to get a spot if you’re a friend group or a family. The air conditioning is central system, that means you don’t get it under 20°c inside your room. The gym is small, but if you are creative, you can get an ok workout. Overall a good experience.

Great little hotel just off the beaten path in St.Julians. Very spacious rooms, clean and modern. Serves a good breakfast but no lunch or dinner service. Looks of lunch and dinner options nearby. Food scene in St.Julian’s is good. Great location. Will be back.

The Staff were Excellent! Junu the housekeeper for my room kept the room so Clean and even agreed to late cleaning which I required daily. The Staff at Reception and the Breakfast team were Brilliant! She kindly came to my room and helped spray it after I found a Cockroach in the bathroom. Food was Nice at Breakfast with high quality bacon and sausage ! It was very noisy in my room until 04.00 with...
The place is right at the centre and accessible to where we want to be. Upon checking in, we were greeted with a warmth and cheerful smile-Minda. She ensures that our needs are met. Brief us with the basics as well as what we need to look for. We have to extend our stay as we love the place. At this point, we’ve had issues accessing our room. Shuvon came to the rescue and didn’t hesitate to help and...
I had a great stay at Holiday Inn Express Malta! The hotel offers one of the best value-for-money experiences in St. Julian’s. It’s perfectly located — just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, bars, and public transport. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with everything I needed. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty of choices...
Great hotel in a prime location. We thought we would be able hear all noise outside but this is not the case. It is really well soundproof. The housekeeper is excellent at managing our room requirements. The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful as well as the manager who has a lovely manner with the guests. I feel all staff have went above and beyond to make this a fantastic stay. It...
The hotel is located in the heart of Saint Julies city center, adjacent to bars and nightclubs. Loud music plays until 3am every night. Although the hotel has double-glazed soundproof windows, it still makes sleep difficult unless you're a night owl. It's advisable to find accommodation farther from the nightlife district if you're not. The hotel doesn't include a complimentary swimming pool. Access...

Really great hotel in the middle of Sliema. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival as the hotel shared its amenities with a five-star hotel next door, so practically you’re getting five-star amenities for a four-star hotel price! I forgot to bring my swim shorts but even in December the rooftop pool was heated which would’ve been a very nice addition to my stay
Perfect location. Lovely staff. Rooftop pool was amazing. Really can’t fault anything. Looking forward to returning.
The hotel boasts a convenient location, just a 7-10 minute walk to the bus stop and port, and a mere 3-5 minutes to a Lidl supermarket. The breakfast buffet offered a fantastic variety, keeping things interesting even during a three-day stay. The pool was incredibly relaxing, perfect for soaking up a resort vibe (and beach towels were provided, which is a nice touch!). Our room was also spotless. We...
The location is a little hard to find, but the service is very good, the price is affordable, and I was lucky to be upgraded to a superior suite. Although the room has a little problem with sound insulation, it was quickly resolved.
The location was great, in Sliema, so it was great for shopping, going to the beach, and going to cafes. The only thing we regret is that we caught a cold and had to stay in bed, so we couldn't go to the gym or spa that we had prepared for us.
Very good hotel, clean, classical style, rich breakfast

Great hotel! The bad reviews of this hotel is mainly based on the cheap 4-star sister hotel. At the 5-star hotel, we stayed in the luxurious spa bedrooms with private pool. ❤️

Sleima and itis next to sea front
Hydra spa is relaxing. There are two pools one in a garden setting and one by the sea - each have their own charm.
This is not 4 star. we have been going to Malta for the last 10 years and this is the worst hotel we have stayed in. Apparently they are closing it next year according to the holiday rep and this would make sense as the rooms needed updating and the food needs improving. The front of house staff were not very friendly. The location is lovely and the cleaning staff were brilliant.
The place is closing soon for a major and much needed refurbishment. Let's hope it returns as one of the best hotels in Malta when it re-opens in 2020.
