Very Disappointing and Unsafe Experience for a Visually Impaired Guest
I am a person with visual impairment and a regular customer of New Panda Hotel. In the past, my experiences with this hotel were generally acceptable. The owner is respectful and professional, and I had no major complaints earlier.
However, my recent experience was extremely disturbing due to the behavior of a reception staff member named Abhash, whose conduct was not only unprofessional but inhumane.
Firstly, while trying to assist me, he physically pushed me as if I were an object, showing no understanding of how to properly guide a person with visual impairment. When I politely explained that this was not the correct or respectful way to assist a visually impaired person, he started scolding me instead of apologizing.
Secondly, after I had already paid the bill via QR scanner and was waiting for my taxi, he forced me out of the hotel and left me standing on the roadside, despite knowing that I am visually impaired. This was extremely unsafe, especially considering the traffic, cold weather, and my vulnerability. When I asked why I could not wait inside and whether the hotel had a sofa or waiting area for guests, he became aggressive and threatening, making me feel insecure and humiliated.
This kind of treatment towards a paying customer—particularly a person with disability—is completely unacceptable and violates basic standards of hospitality, dignity, and human decency.
I strongly do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone, especially persons with disabilities, as long as this mannerless and insensitive staff member remains at the reception. Management must take immediate action, provide disability sensitivity training, and ensure that such behavior is never repeated.
Respect, safety, and dignity should never be optional in hospitality.
