At check-in, I was incorrectly asked to pay an additional €150. Although this charge was later withdrawn, being greeted with an unjustified fee is an unacceptable way to start a stay and immediately undermines trust. This should never have happened with a confirmed reservation.
The room itself had several issues. The shower drains so poorly that during normal use the entire bathroom floods. A repair was scheduled for 1:00 PM; I adjusted my day to be available, but no one showed up and there was no communication or follow-up. The heating was inconsistent and uncomfortable, especially given the season, and a bedside reading light was broken on arrival.
Housekeeping was also unreliable. On the first day, service did not come at all. On the second day, the front desk was informed that we would leave the room around 1:00 PM, yet housekeeping came at 10:00 AM, woke me up, and never returned later, even after we left.
I want to be clear that my frustration was not directed at front-line staff. They were polite, and I even shared food with them as a personal gesture. My feedback is strictly about management, preparation, and follow-through.

The room had a seriously broken shower. The drain is so slow that when the shower is used at normal water pressure, the water backs up and floods the entire bathroom. This is a basic plumbing failure that makes normal use of the bathroom impossible.

Room was rather tired. The sink tap was not in the correct position and the sink plug was sticking and not properly maintained.
The glass screen on the shower was sharp and needed a soft edge to mark the position as users could walk into it as it was difficult to see.

Pleasant, comfortable room. Convenient for tye local music venue, and only a few minutes away there was a good selection of places to eat and drink (until late if wanted), plus a handy local Spar for everyday stuff and good breakfast offerings!

First, we entered the hotel and it smelled of sewage. When I got to the room, there was a lot of dust on the floor (see photo). The bed wasn't properly made, and there was feces stuck to the windowpane behind it. There were black hairs on the bed and a moldy sandwich in the minibar. I tidied up a few things to keep my husband from getting angry. He had to park the car somewhere inaccessible due to roadworks, and this was already frustrating. When he got home, he went to take a shower, and the water wouldn't drain, and the entire shower was about 4 cm deep under water. See video.
My husband then went to the reception to file a complaint, but he was told to contact you himself for a refund. You can imagine that our stay was no longer pleasant, even after being offered another room. We've had a hectic week and were looking for relaxation, and I hope you understand that we are very disappointed with the hotel's service and communication. This is unacceptable.

The staff was very friendly, clean room. What we didn't like was the sewer smell thought the room. Almost made you throw up. We asked for another room but nothing was available. Staff came and tried to clean out the drains and turn on the air conditioner. It helped a little, but the smell was in the room. We were not happy.

This is an affordable stay. It lacks in quality and delivery. Being woken up by a 55” TV turning on at 07am on a Saturday wasn’t very pleasant.

We got a room at the third floor and there is no elevator. The rooms were dirty and there were only two tiny windows to let air circulation. Wifi doesn't work well.
The staff is friendly and kind.

Nice and cosy place near the city center of Maastricht. My mom stayed there for 4 days and had only good things to say. Breakfast is a bit expensive, so would recommend getting that somewhere in the town

There was nothing that was a trouble to all the staff. After an initial problem with the room for 3 of us it was sorted even though it was a busy time very courteously.
