Alex Maastricht in Maastricht

Excellent hotel on a very nice location in Wyck, very close to shops and restaurants and to the train station. Our room (4) on the first floor was small but clean and very efficient. The staff was very friendly and helpful and it was a joy to have an aperitif in the bar and to have a good breakfast in the beautifully decorated new dining room. We will certainly go back to Alex Maastricht a next time!

I didn’t stay at the hotel but joined a colleague for dinner there. Excellent dinner, fair price, friendly and great service!

We had a great stay at this hotel. The location is perfect, within easy walking distance of the city centre, with parking nearby and a train station close by, which made getting around very convenient. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was clean, stylish, and spacious, and we felt very comfortable there. The area felt safe, even when walking around at night, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was good and offered a nice start to the day. Overall, a fantastic place to stay and one we would happily recommend.

Exactly as advertised. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and newer decor. Close to Maastricht train station and an easy 10 min walk to the town historical center. Hôtel checkin is in the bar/restaurant on main floor and quite easy. Lot’s of restaurants, cafe and other retail close by.

Really nice hotel in the heart of Maastricht. We were in Room 17 which was right at the top of the hotel. Lots of stairs and no lift. The bed was comfy and the room had everything you need. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and our meals were missing the accompanying sides that went with them. We did mention it to the waiter, but there seemed to be some confusion over it. It wasn’t a deal breaker.

Not a Bad Stay
This is basically a restaurant/bar with rooms upstairs. There is no formal “check-in” desk; you just belly up to the bar and check in. Room is basic. A little overpriced for such basic amenities, more like a pension than a hotel; no phone, no mini fridge, no complimentary coffee or tea or kettle in room (kettle upon asking and tea available at the bar). My particular room was very small for the size bed in it. A smaller bed would allow for at least a chair. No elevator if you have a lot of/or heavy luggage, but the staff will take bags to room (in between them serving customers at bar/restaurant.

I am not saying this isn’t a nice place, it is clean and central to bus and train for day excursions. Good shopping, restaurants, bakeries, chocolate shops. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Rooms clean. Daily cleaning service. Bed was comfortable. Was semi-quiet; on busy street and with the age of building, typical noises you would expect, but not unbearable. There is tv (not my thing so this was neither a positive or negative for me). Shower water pressure great! Plenty of towels. Soap/shampoo available as well as a hair dryer.

If you want full hotel experience, this isn’t for you. If you want to pay hotel price for pension-level amenities, this place is for you.

This boutique hotel met our expectations. Very nice, clean room with comfortable bed and good bathroom. it was extremely hot weather when we were there, but luckily they have excellent central air conditioning. Small bar/restaurant on ground level and outside seating. We enjoyed a couple of good meals. Also, they were helpful to accommodate a group of about 25 of my colleagues for happy hour drinks/appetizers. There are stairs to get to rooms, but they offered to carry our suitcases.

I struggled with the air conditioning and the shower, purely because I am quite hesitant with tech. Leaflets on their use would have been helpful but I know if I had asked for their help the staff would have been fantastic.

The Alex exceeded our expectations. The staff are super friendly and helpful. After day 1 they recognized us and carried on conversations with us. The meals were delicious- we had breakfast and dinner in the cafe. While their cafe is small (very pleasant outdoor seating too though ), they were able to accommodate about 25 of my work colleagues on short notice for drinks/hors d'oeuvres. The room was clean and great bed/bath; cleaned daily; espresso machine/tea in room. There was a heat wave while we were there but luckily the room had excellent and quiet air conditioning. Only 2 blocks from train station but very quiet. Definitely recommend!
